The sound of the wind outside grew louder, whistling through the air.

Bright yellow flas crackled in the fire basin, with smoke swirling around.

Cyber sat in front of the basin, curiously examining the burning materials inside. They appeared to be so kind of monster’s stripped-off fat, giving off a strange odor as they burned.

He then shifted his gaze around, taking in the sight of a house that, despite being decrepit, was ticulously kept. Yet, the walls were stained with grimy, oily filth, detracting from its cleanliness.

The walls of the house were adorned with shelves, cramd with various assorted items. Cyber could vaguely recognize so tools and decorations with a clear elven style, along with a number of darkened bones and jars containing unknown substances.

The floor was littered with clay dishes filled with thick, black fluid. Protruding from them were wicks, seemingly made from so kind of insect thread, which burned with bright flas, reminiscent of glowing oil lamps.

The lovely elf girl Aister knelt down carefully, extinguishing each "oil lamp" one by one. She collected the black fluid into a bag and stacked the clay dishes neatly.

At this mont, Cyber understood why the light from this house’s windows seed brighter than others outside; it was undoubtedly these glowing "oil lamps."

Besides the elf father and daughter and Cyber, there was no fourth person in the room.

Clearly, before Dore returned, the elf girl Aister must have been alone at ho.

Cyber did not ask where the girl’s mother was.

He feared unearthing a sad story.

Dore sat on the opposite side of the fire basin, busy handling the spoils brought back, mostly consisting of black at chunks exuding an unpleasant odor, causing Cyber to wrinkle his nose.

However, Dore seed accustod to it.

The unsightly Frost Elf sat cross-legged, adeptly slicing the at chunks with a rusty dagger, trimming off the thick fat to store in prepared bottles.

Watching the viscous liquid, Cyber felt he knew what fueled those "oil lamps" and the fire basin.

Aister soon tidied up the oil lamps.

Then, under Cyber’s curious gaze, her figure disappeared into another slightly dimly lit room inside the house.

Since Dore blocked his view from the other side, Cyber couldn’t see the situation in that other room, only hearing the girl’s "tap tap tap" light footsteps and her humming a tune, occasionally accompanied by sounds of water.

Her mood seed good.

After a while, Aister reappeared in Cyber’s view. This ti, she had a patterned clay pot and three dented cups in her hands.

She bounded towards them like a joyful butterfly, gently kneeling and pouring tea for Cyber, Dore, and herself.

"Dad, guest, it’s been a long journey, please have so water!"

Her voice was as clear and pleasant as a warbler.

After doing this, she disappeared into the darkness again with a "tap tap tap," like a cheerful little rabbit.

Such a lovely child...

Cyber couldn’t help thinking so.

Having traveled for a long ti, he also felt slightly thirsty, so he picked up the cup.

It was just that, upon lifting the cup and looking at the unknown liquid inside, he hesitated slightly.

The liquid was cloudy, with what seed to be a faint layer of grease floating on top, emitting an indescribable fishy sll.

Cyber:...

Is this water?!

Cyber’s sense of sll told him that his body rejected this unknown liquid.

And upon glancing at Dore, he found that he had already picked up the cup and drained it.

The silent Frost Elf’s expression was very normal, seemingly unaffected by the fishy sll of this "tea."

Cyber:...

He twitched his mouth, genuinely admiring the other party from within.

This "tea"... just slling it made him nauseous.

"Guest? Not to your taste?"

At this mont, Aister’s voice ca again.

Cyber instinctively looked over, seeing the elf girl standing at the door of the inner room, holding a tray with three clay bowls containing sothing.

She tilted her little head, looking at Cyber with bright, big eyes.

Those pure eyes like a newborn beast made it hard for Cyber to say "no."

"This is Abyss Worm juice, already purified."

At that mont, Dore’s hoarse voice ca over.

After speaking, he coughed severely, taking a few deep breaths to recover.

Cyber noticed that the sores on his face had ruptured even further, oozing yellow pus.

"Dad!"

Aister exclaid softly, putting down the tray and "tap tap tap" ran to Dore’s side, kneeling and taking out indistinguishable colored strips of cloth, gently wiping the pus off Dore’s face.

The girl’s movents were very gentle.

"Does it hurt?"

Her voice trembled slightly, full of concern.

However, Dore gently pushed her away, hurriedly saying:

"Don’t... don’t touch , it’s dirty."

In the flickering flas, Aister’s delicate profile sharply contrasted with Dore’s grotesque appearance, the worry in the girl’s eyes mirroring the father’s bewildered expression, blending together in the firelight.
