The roar of monsters and the sounds of battle are faintly discernible.

A beautiful and lancholic lody, along with increasingly loud and orderly singing, echoes over the city, as if declaring war on an unfortunate fate.

Cyber listened, and gradually found himself unconsciously joining in the singing, his gaze dazed and slightly enchanted.

He took a deep breath and exhaled slowly, clenching his fists.

Though his heart was still full of doubts about these elves’ past.

Though the encounters of the past two days left many questions unanswered.

Yet at this mont, Cyber made up his mind; no matter what... he must rescue these elves!

Though he was a casual player, he had never been much of a plot-driven player.

But at this very mont, for the first ti, and with intense desire, he hoped these elves could enjoy the warm sunshine and taste delicious food like their companions in the Elf Forest.

It’s said that songs are the best conveyors of emotion.

He could feel the bitterness and pain from the elves’ songs, sense their hope for a beautiful vision, feel their devotion to the Goddess...

Such beings deserve to be saved.

"But... what should I do? Why haven’t I triggered a mission yet?"

"System, oh system, even if there’s no reward, just give the mission to save them, point in a direction!"

Cyber shouted in his heart.

But when he concentrated his gaze on the ga system, it was still in the sa bleak state.

In an instant, he even had the impulse to commit suicide and re-enter the ga to see if it would return to normal.

But considering that he didn’t know how to find his way back to this Elf City after reincarnation, he had to restrain himself and endure.

At least... wait until the black tide passes.

At least... wait until the elf nad Gando takes him to the temple!

Perhaps once he goes to the temple and reveals his identity, everything will be resolved!

And once he exits the ga and uploads the automatically recorded video to the official website, he will surely receive help from other players!

At this mont, Cyber no longer wants any reward.

Yet right at that mont, accompanied by the sound of a string breaking, the singing abruptly stopped.

Cyber was slightly startled and looked towards Dore, the one playing the harp, only to see him suddenly curl up, his whole body trembling uncontrollably.

The Frost Elf began to cough violently, and with each cough, he spewed out black liquid, while the lumps on his face trembled as if countless worms squird beneath them.

He clawed at the ground, his sharp nails embedding into the floor, and cracks appeared on the boils on his head, with yellow pus flowing incessantly.

"Dad!"

Aister clutched Dore’s clothes tightly, looking nervous and worried.

But this ti, Dore suddenly pushed her to the ground.

He was strong, instantly pushing the Elf Girl over a ter away.

"Don’t... don’t co near !"

He painfully growled.

Cyber’s expression changed.

He intended to stand up but suddenly felt sothing hot and scorching at his waist.

He instinctively lowered his head and saw the silver dagger given by the robed Old Elf, Gando.

At this mont, the Secret Silver Dagger was glowing with a silver radiance.

This was a Mithril weapon with the [Purify] effect, naturally reacting when near the corrupted Abyss Creature.

This was a warning.

Cyber was slightly amazed, suddenly looking towards Dore, seeing wisps of black mist rising from his body.

That aura was all too familiar to Cyber.

"Power of the Abyss..."

He murmured solemnly.

This silent Frost Elf was rapidly being eroded by the Power of the Abyss, quickly descending into corruption!

At that mont, he suddenly understood what the aningful words said by Gando before parting ant.

Dore’s expression was painful.

He let out a beast-like roar, his eyes gradually dyed in crimson.

The aura around him kept rising, growing increasingly dangerous...

"Dad!"

Aister climbed up from the ground, her gaze towards Dore filled with panic.

Upon hearing her voice, a hint of clarity flashed in Dore’s eyes.

He looked at Aister with guilt, his voice hoarse:

"Sorry..."

"Aister... I can’t take you to see the stars anymore."

Then, while panting heavily, he looked towards Cyber standing on the side.

"Kill ."

He said, biting his teeth tightly, trembling, in a hoarse voice.

Cyber opened his mouth, his mind blank.

"Kill ... I don’t want to beco a monster..."

Dore’s voice trembled.

The lumps on his face squird more violently, and a devil-like tail had already grown behind him.

Cyber gripped the Secret Silver Dagger tightly, his vision slightly blurred.

He grabbed Dore’s shoulder, shouting:

"Dore, hold on! I am..."

He wanted to say, "I am the Chosen One of the Goddess."

However, he couldn’t get the words out.

His words were silenced.

It’s the system!

Cyber felt furious in his heart.

Damn broken system!

Of all tis to silence, now it chooses to block key words!

He exhaled a deep breath, trying to say sothing else, but was stopped by Dore:

"Kill... ."

"This is... the fate of each of us..."

Dore panted, tremblingly said.

Cyber was silent.

He knew.

After fighting demons for so long, he understood very well the pollution of the Power of the Abyss.

Once the corruption begins, it’s irreversible.

Until... becoming a mindless monster or a completely insane demon.

Exhaling slowly, Cyber quietly said:

"I understand."

Having said this, he sniffled, suppressing the slight ache in his heart, and thrust the Secret Silver Dagger into Dore’s chest.

"Dad! No!"

Aister exclaid in shock.

Dore twitched a few tis, casting a slightly longing glance at the Elf Girl.

He forced a smile, his fierce face vaguely showing an unusual gentleness:

"I love... you, Aister."

"Don’t cry, you must be strong."

Then, brilliant light began to blossom from his body, the hideous tumors and demon scales rapidly shedding, and his body started to fade away quickly...

"Daughter, please..."

Cyber heard Dore speak with a slightly pleading tone by his ear.

He parted his lips slightly, wanting to respond, but Dore’s body exploded into countless flying light particles in a bang, disappearing before his eyes.

Like fireworks blooming in the darkness, illusory yet beautiful.

"Dad——!"

Aister let out a heart-wrenching cry.

She rushed to the place where Dore disappeared, desperately trying to grasp sothing, but caught nothing.

On the ground, only the clothes left behind after Dore disappeared remained.

Aister trembled as she picked up those tattered clothes.

Her expression was filled with sorrow.

The songs of the elves continued to drift through the city, as if narrating sothing.

Aister knelt on the ground, looking at the flickering lights outside the window, her gaze hazy.

She softly opened her mouth, continuing to sing along with the ethereal song.

The voice was plaintive and mournful.

The Secret Silver Dagger in Cyber’s hand fell to the ground.

He watched the girl holding the fragnted clothes and singing, listening to that winding tune, speechless for a mont.

Until the girl finished her chant, silently gazing at the clothes before her, she said:

"I knew..."

"I knew from the start that this day would co..."

"Dad just went to be with Mom..."

"I will live strong..."

"I will definitely live strong..."

"I will wait until the day the Mother Goddess awakens..."

"I won’t cry..."

"Dad... Dad just returned to the embrace of the Mother Goddess..."

"Just like Mom..."

"They... are surely living happily in the Mother Goddess’s Divine Country..."

"They... must be watching over from the sky, encouraging ..."

"I won’t cry..."

The girl’s voice grew smaller and smaller.

Looking at her frail figure, Cyber felt a twinge of pity rise in his heart.

He didn’t want to tell the girl that, according to the ga’s lore, every soul corrupted by the Abyss would completely lose the chance to return to the Divine Country, being purified into nothingness.

Looking at Aister kneeling on the ground, her expression full of sorrow, Cyber felt a surge of impulse in his chest.

At this mont, he felt the girl’s silhouette vaguely overlap with his sister in reality.

He couldn’t help but step forward, holding Aister in his arms and gently patting her back:

"If you want to cry... then cry."

The girl’s body trembled slightly.

She slowly raised her head, her tear-filled eyes looking at Cyber, then murmured:

"No, Dad would be disappointed..."

Watching Aister holding back tears, Cyber took a deep breath and said:

"He won’t be."

"I’ll shield you, he won’t see."

The girl trembled slightly:

"Really... can’t see?"

Her voice carried a slight tremble.

"Really."

Cyber replied softly.

Softer than ever.

The girl remained silent for a mont and began to sob softly.

Gradually, the sobbing turned into a sorrowful cry, heart-wrenching.

She clutched Cyber’s sleeve tightly and wept loudly.

The girl’s sobbing buried in the mournful yet persistent song touched the softest part of Cyber’s heart.

He held her tightly, and unknowingly tears blurred his own eyes.

"I will save you all..."

"I will definitely save you all!"

He shouted firmly through tears.

Then, he suddenly looked up, his eyes crimson, one arm holding the girl, the other clenched into a fist, raised high, and roared at the sky with rolling clouds outside the window:

"I—Cyber Shadow!"

"By... the God...!"

He trembled, as if trying to break free from so constraint.

The familiar feeling of restraint ca once more, and faintly, golden light began to surround Cyber.

His expression beca fierce, but his gaze was firr than ever.

He opened his mouth slightly, veins bulging on his face:

"By... the Goddess..."

His voice trembled, as if sothing was preventing him from speaking further.

Yet, Cyber did not give up.

He struggled, glowing brighter and brighter, transforming into strands of golden lightning that revolved around his body incessantly.

The vigor in his heart grew more vigorous, constantly rising...

The light grew blinding, and Cyber felt his consciousness becoming increasingly blurred...

But likewise, he felt the power within growing stronger!

At this mont, he felt he could achieve it.

He took a deep breath, his eyes bloodshot, gritted his teeth, and amidst a brilliant golden light, shouted once more, trembling:

"I, by the..."

"Goddess..."

"In the na of the Chosen One—"

"Swear!"

He finally spoke the words he wanted to say.

A radiant pillar of light surged into the sky, rising from Cyber’s body.

Accompanied by the gentle sound of friendly ssages, his vision... fell into darkness.
