After hearing Robert’s words, Li Mu couldn’t help but glance at the Shadow Elf arguing with others in the distance.
anwhile, Robert continued to complain:
"In my opinion, the Church should preemptively confine such unbelievers. Otherwise... they will sooner or later be seduced by those blasphers and also beco abhorrent blasphers!"
"Blasphers?"
Li Mu frowned.
"You an to say you don’t know about the blasphers?"
This ti, it was Robert’s turn to be surprised.
Li Mu shook his head:
"I lived in the countryside my entire life; this is my first ti in such a big city."
"I see."
Robert ca to realize.
Then, he enthusiastically said:
"Then you must take a good look around New Rivendell; it’s the largest city on the continent and truly a Holy City!"
New Rivendell...
Li Mu finally learned the na of this city.
Each of the seven major Elf Cities in the Elf Forest corresponds to the Seven Elf Tribes, and the city where the Shadow Tribe is mainly distributed is Rivendell.
There is no doubt that this is also a city the Elves established to commorate the past.
Robert continued to explain:
"Blasphers are the clansn who betrayed the Mother Goddess over eight hundred years ago when Her Reverence the Mother Goddess awakened. It’s said they hid away after the civil war, always looking for a chance to undermine Her Reverence’s restoration."
"Sir, if you discover any blasphers, you must report to the Church in ti, for they are very persuasive, often trying to draw in outsiders like you, spreading blasphemous apocalyptic rhetoric!"
Saying that, Robert slapped his forehead, as if rembering sothing, and said:
"By the way, sir, I’ve been chatting without even asking your na!"
Li Mu nodded and said:
"Li Mu, my na is Li Mu."
"Li Mu... a good na!"
The two chatted for a while longer. Li Mu inquired about information related to the blasphers, though it seed to be a taboo topic; even Robert, after saying a few things, subtly shook his head and stopped discussing it.
Still, Li Mu managed to glean so information indirectly.
The blasphers are a force on the continent secretly opposing the Mother Goddess Church, comprised of so Elves, Half-Elves, and a few other races. Reportedly, the leaders were forr high-ranking clergy mbers who defected from the Church.
At that ti, the Mother Goddess Church was not yet renad and was called the Nature Church.
The blasphers who betrayed the Church refuse to acknowledge the resurgent ’World Tree’ as Her Reverence the Mother Goddess. They assert that it is an awakened evil presence inevitably leading everyone to doom.
Robert scoffed at the blasphers’ claims when discussing this matter.
Since the Mother’s revival, Guardian Knights have erged in abundance under Her gift, alleviating the Church’s pressure against the Evil God believers.
If not for the Mother Goddess, the war between land and sea might have already reached its conclusion.
Of course, Li Mu also learned what the Guardian Knight selection process entailed.
On Minder Continent, there exists an ancient ruin that opens every three years.
Unlike the outside world, where magic power is increasingly scarce, the ruin has a high concentration of magic power; elental forces are active, rare magical plants grow, and many once-extinct species can be found.
Every ti the ruin opens, the Church organizes personnel to explore and gather valuable resources for the ongoing war against the Ocean Evil God.
After the Mother’s revival, the ’Mother Goddess’ elevated this exploration with a divine aura.
All believers who enter the ruins will undergo trials from the True God. Those who pass can gain imnse power, leaping to beco Golden Rank Guardian Knights.
The two chatted idly until a commotion occurred outside the guild.
Li Mu turned his head to see several Elves and Half-Elves dressed in Priest Robes entering the hall, escorted by powerful Silver-armored Warriors. They glanced around and, after exchanging a few words with the receptionist at the bar, left in a hurry, frowning.
Li Mu noticed the Priests’ uniforms bore a remarkable resemblance to those of the Elf Forest, except the tree symbol belonging to the Goddess had changed to match the symbol he previously saw in that village.
"Hey, those were Guardian Knights just now."
Seeing Li Mu’s gaze, Robert remarked.
After saying this, he slightly narrowed his eyes:
"Even the Priests are disturbed; could it be another blaspher has erged?"
Upon hearing this, Li Mu instinctively glanced at the group chat interface, his first thought being that perhaps one of his teammates caused the commotion?
However, seeing the harmonious chat channel, he dismissed this suspicion.
If they were in real trouble, they would have sought help in the chat channel by now.
Then, Robert abruptly stood up:
"I’ll go find out what’s going on."
His face was filled with curiosity, appearing even more eager than Li Mu.
"I’ll co too."
A stirring arose in Li Mu’s heart, prompting him to follow along.
"Alv, what just happened?"
Robert stood at the bar and asked the human female attendant responsible for hospitality.
She paused her work, glanced at him, and respectfully replied:
"Sir Robert, a blaspher has just intruded on the forbidden area, killed many Guardian Knights, and alard the Church’s core. They are currently making a full-scale pursuit of the suspect."
"A blaspher? Who on earth is so powerful?"
Robert’s expression turned grave.
"It was a very good-looking Elf."
