Chapter 440: Chapter 423: Restoring the Life Scepter

After reaching an agreent with Platinum Dragon King Reinhardt, Eve returned to her own Divine Country.

Sitting on her divine seat, she began to ponder the True God Oath with Reinhardt and a certain possibility suggested by his attitude during their eting…

“Although Reinhardt was a kind Dragon God who upheld justice, wasn’t his attitude towards a bit too favorable?”

“According to what this Platinum Dragon God said, he hoped to purify the dragons’ bloodline with the help of the Life Scepter.”

“However, by cooperating with , he could indeed maximize the function of the Life Scepter but, at the sa ti, it was like irrevocably tying the purification of the Dragon Clan’s bloodline to my chariot…”

“Logically speaking, a proud race like the Dragon Clan shouldn’t hand over the control of sothing as essential as bloodline purification to another being, right?”

“If I were a Dragon God seeking to revive our race, I would undoubtedly strive to obtain the Life Scepter myself… After all, having power in one’s own hands is the most reliable.”

“So… why did Reinhardt decide to do this?”

Eve tapped on the armrest of her divine seat while pondering.

She needed to think it through.

Although she agreed swiftly when signing the True God Oath, it didn’t an she would completely trust him.

Her identity was far too sensitive, and if exposed, she could beco the target of all.

With a light sigh, Eve summoned the fragnts of the Life Scepter.

These crystalline Divine Artifact fragnts lay in her palm, shimring with a hazy glow and exuding vitality.

Seeing the fragnts of the Life Scepter, Eve’s expression shifted slightly:

“This seed like Reinhardt was sending so kind of signal, indicating the attitude of the Dragon Clan…”

“He indeed was releasing goodwill, yet this goodwill seed to carry a deeper aning.”

Suddenly, a thought sparked in Eve’s mind:

“Wait…”

“What if Reinhardt had guessed my identity?”

This thought popped into her mind, causing the goddess, who was lounging on her divine seat, to sit upright, her expression slightly stern:

“There was indeed that possibility!”

“Otherwise, he wouldn’t have ntioned that I resembled an old friend of his…”

“After all, standing in the Elf Forest and gazing at the World Tree while saying such a thing, anyone would know who he referred to as the old friend.”

“Besides, there were his warnings.”

“Looking back now, his warnings seed more like a hint, suggesting that the Pantheon might send soone to investigate the Elf Forest, so I must prepare in advance…”

As she thought about it, Eve’s expression gradually grew serious.

This was still her speculation, but considering it from this angle, many of Reinhardt’s actions started to make sense…

“Or perhaps it was so kind of… investnt?”

Eve mused thoughtfully.

Yet, thinking about it further, Eve found it puzzling:

“But if he recognized my identity, how did he figure it out? I should have concealed everything possible.”

“It couldn’t be that he spied on the thoughts of my believers, right? No, if that was the case, I would have noticed because this was my domain.”

*She couldn’t figure it out.*

Eve contemplated for a while and reviewed the various disguises regarding her identity as the World Tree, but still had no leads.

Ultimately, she could only sigh helplessly:

“Alas, my identity’s concealnt should be flawless.”

“Besides, the fact that the Pantheon’s previous World Tree’s divine seat hasn’t been activated is the strongest evidence that the World Tree hasn’t been resurrected.”

“After all… no one would expect that a soul from another world would rge with the World Tree’s body to be reborn as the new World Tree. Such an event is almost unprecedented in Sagas’ history.”

“Perhaps I could ask Hela, who was on good terms with the predecessor and herself is an old True God, she might have a better understanding of Reinhardt.”

Having decided, Eve planned to inquire indirectly from Hela about any information concerning Rheinrat.

Even if the other party had shown goodwill, it was best to understand the source of that goodwill.

She acted on her thoughts imdiately, skillfully taking out the Box of the Dead to send a ssage to Hela.

After sending the “mail,” Eve then refocused her attention on the fragnts of the Life Scepter.

With a slight smile, she took out the body of the Life Scepter.

The mont the body of the Life Scepter was brought out, the fragnts in her hand instantly emitted an even brighter radiance.

Almost without Eve’s manipulation, the fragnts flew towards the body of the Life Scepter. Upon eting, they emitted an even more dazzling light.

The broken True Divine Artifact, when encountering its fragnts, would autonomously absorb them to repair itself.

At this mont, the Life Scepter triggered this chanism by itself.

The fragnts quickly assembled at one end of the Life Scepter, forming the previously missing third of the whole.

They fused together in the shimring glow, completing a new scepter.

This scepter was two-thirds larger than the previous Life Scepter.

It had a dark green staff as tall as a person, entwined with lush green vines. At the top of the scepter, there was a cup-shaped headpiece adorned with splendid gemstones, gleaming magnificently and intricately etched with elaborate patterns.
