Now reading: Chapter 980 - 684: Divine Wrath from Elf Kingdom: Game of the World Tree, a Action novel by Crunch.

In the Divine Country of the World Tree, within the Central Temple.

Eve sat on Her divine throne, gazing at the war sandbox transford by divine power before Her, gently tapping the armrest of the throne.

The war sandbox depicted the current southern Fengye Territory and Border Domain, encompassing Augus City and the players attacking other cities in Fengye Territory.

The sandbox didn’t show the specific conditions of the players but rely replaced them with points of light.

This was Her way of overseeing the entire holy war at a macro level.

In this war, players are very likely to encounter a descending Evil God.

The Evil God might erge from Otto’s main army, or from the hinterlands of Fengye Territory, or appear as the Imperial Expedition Army did back then, during the decisive battle between the players and the Red Maple Kingdom...

Eve couldn’t pinpoint the exact details, but from overlooking the whole situation through the war sandbox, monitoring the situation and being ready to intervene was undoubtedly the best choice.

Of course, most of Eve’s attention was devoted to the Player Army besieging Zelolan, as this player army was the largest participating.

If the Evil God truly descends here and isn’t promptly addressed, it would also be the direction where Eve would suffer the most loss.

Besides Zelolan, the second most important was Augus City.

After all, it faced the siege of Otto’s army.

Theoretically, the players in Augus City were under the most pressure, and if Otto failed to take the city for too long, summoning the Evil God to assist was quite possible.

However, in Eve’s view, that would only happen when Otto realized the siege was hopeless.

Therefore, when the siege on Augus City started, Eve didn’t check imdiately but continued to observe the battles in other areas.

However, just when Eve was happily watching the player armies advancing triumphantly throughout Fengye Territory, She suddenly heard a faint sound of prayers.

"Hmm? Prayers?"

Eve raised an eyebrow.

With the enhancent of Divine Power, She had long delegated the task of receiving prayers and providing responses to the now well-established faith network. Generally, believers’ prayers to Her were automatically responded to through the faith network.

For instance, granting certain Divine Arts or bestowing certain blessings.

Yet this ti...the sound of the prayers directly resonated in Eve’s mind.

The prayers seed unfamiliar, many parts were stamred, the content was ssy, and faintly...so misspelled words and extrely inaccurate pronunciations could be heard.

Undoubtedly, the education the prayer had received should be quite limited, possibly not even a devout life believer.

This was worth paying attention to.

It’s known, in Eve’s configuration, there were only two scenarios where prayers would allow Her to "hear" directly.

One scenario is the Saint and Divine Favored.

The other scenario is when a large number of believers pray for the sa thing simultaneously.

The forr likely indicates that the Saint and Divine Favored encountered so trouble or sought Her guidance.

At this juncture, it’s necessary for the Divine to provide a certain response.

As for the latter...it implies either so significant celebration or believers encountering so predicant necessitating them to pray to the Goddess.

In whichever circumstance, whether performing a Divine Miracle during the celebration or tactfully resolving believers’ difficulties, can significantly enhance believers’ recognition and solidify their faith.

Clearly, the current circumstance was the latter.

With this thought, Eve quickly connected to the faith network and followed the direction of the prayers.

"Augus City?"

Pausing slightly.

Eyebrows gently raising, Eve lightly gestured, transforming the scene to depict the situation in Augus City. Initially a composed and relaxed expression quickly turned grave, which swiftly morphed into rage:

"Beasts!"

With a Divine wrath, the entire Eden Garden surged tumultuously.

A small number of Prayers, hundreds of Elental Elves, and over a hundred Oak Guardians urgently knelt in prayer.

Recognizing the impact of Her anger on the Divine Country, Eve swiftly composed Herself, yet gazing at the manifested scene, the expression grew increasingly somber.

Eve considered Herself not a good person in Her past life, rely an ordinary secular individual.

Even becoming a True God, even as so believers revered Her as a benevolent redeer, Eve clearly understood Her actual intent was rely for personal survival and developnt.

Perhaps, when it didn’t affect Her, Eve did not mind doing so good deeds.

But compared to the conventionally virtuous Divines in the Segis World, compared to the fallen predecessor, Eve considered Herself far beneath those standards.

Yet, despite that, Eve still had principles.

Certain things, even if She possessed the power to do so, She wouldn’t engage in.

Gazing at the portrayed scene, Eve’s face darkened.

It was a depiction of groups of civilians coerced by soldiers, forced into attacking the city.

Most of those civilians weren’t transcenders. If the players hadn’t deliberately helped them onto the city walls, they couldn’t have scaled the walls by themselves.

Clearly, attacking the city wasn’t the intention, but rather so other purpose...

Directing her view above the battlefield, Eve observed those souls that hadn’t returned to the Netherworld or Divine Country upon death but eerily drifted above, accumulating more and more, even affecting the weather above Augus City, causing the battlefield to beco sowhat overcast...

Her eyebrows gradually knitted:

"Sacrifices?"

Changing Her gaze again, Eve peered across the void to the battlefield’s distance, saw the Red Maple Kingdom’s army, the command encampnt stationed on the hills behind the army, and Otto standing on the hill watching from afar...

Her gaze, soon focused on a shimring emblem in Otto’s hand.

"Ha, these degenerate guys dwelling in the abyss, can’t they think of a new trick?"

A hint of sarcasm flashed across Eve’s face.

"Since you want to make an entrance so badly, let’s grant you the chance."

She gently reached out a hand and snapped her fingers.

As Eve acted, vast life Divine Power crossed the void, surged to the Augus City of the temple, and infused the temple’s statue.

And then...a golden beam of light shot up to the sky.

...

"What’s happening?"

Observing the changes in the direction of Augus City, sensing the sudden wave of energy fluctuations, Red Maple King Otto slightly frowned.

For so reason, a trace of unease arose in his heart.

Instinctively lowering his head, Otto looked again at the emblem in his hand, but as soon as he saw the symbol of life power fully illuminated, his gaze soon turned astonished:

"Full...Full?"

"Life power is full?!"

Otto initially felt a surge of joy, yet promptly regained composure, and a strong sense of crisis abruptly surged in his heart.

But just as he hadn’t had a mont to react or devise a response, suddenly a flash of red light seed to enter his body.

At an instant, he seemingly caught sight of a shadow of a Skull Necklace.

And the next mont, Otto heard an ethereal voice with a tinge of indifference:

"Summon your master."

He stood frozen for two seconds, then respectfully bowed:

"As you wish."
