Hunted in the Streets

Jamie Lancaster after being held captive by the elves and going from one hand to another had promised herself to never run from a fight again, but as she slipped into the back seat of a blacked-out SUV, she knew that survival now ant evasion. The once-celebrated military genius, hailed as a visionary, was now branded as a pariah. The coordinated sar campaign had taken full effect, and the streets were no longer safe for her.

She had already been forced to abandon two safe houses in the past forty-eight hours. Mobs had gathered outside—so were angry citizens, fueled by dia-fed propaganda; others were planted operatives, trained to blend in and escalate protests into riots. And in every crowd, there were assassins waiting for their mont.

As the SUV sped through the narrow streets, she glanced at Solomon, who was gripping his sidearm, scanning every shadow with lethal precision. They weren’t just running from public outrage—they were being hunted.

“Next location is compromised,” their driver said through the radio. “New hideout’s been secured, but we have to move now. The last one almost got breached.”

Jamie clenched her fists. They were running out of places to hide.

A Guard’s Loyalty

Inside the Green Guardian cockpit, Flight Lieutenant Arjun Rathore was stationed near the safe house periter, watching the chaotic streets through his ch’s augnted vision. He had always admired Jamie Lancaster—from her fearless advancents in chanized warfare to her refusal to be controlled by corrupt powers. But now, seeing how she was being betrayed, he felt a deep sense of injustice.

His radio crackled. “Lieutenant, you’re being reassigned. Lancaster’s security team is rotating personnel.”

His orders were clear. Step back. Stop guarding her. Let the governnt handle it.

But Arjun made his decision the mont he saw the hatred in the eyes of the crowd, the way agents disguised as civilians tried to push toward the safe house, how Jamie and Solomon were forced to flee like criminals. He couldn’t follow orders.

He needed help. And there was only one man who could provide it.

An Appeal to Power

Colonel Vikram Rathore of the Indian Army was a man of pragmatism and strategy, not emotions. When Arjun burst into his office unannounced, the Colonel did not look up imdiately. He simply finished reading his docunt, set it aside, and then locked eyes with his cousin.

“You broke protocol coming here, Arjun,” Vikram said, voice calm but firm. “What is so urgent that you risk your career?”

Arjun took a deep breath. “It’s about Jamie Lancaster.”

A flicker of recognition passed through the Colonel’s eyes, but he remained impassive. “She is no longer our concern. She is compromised.”

“That’s a lie!” Arjun shot back. “Everything they’re saying about her is fabricated. It’s a coordinated attack by China, Russia, and Iran. They’re trying to erase her!”

Vikram raised an eyebrow. “And why does that concern us?”

Arjun stepped forward. “Because she is a hero. You don’t see what I’ve seen, Vikram. She fights not for personal power but for sothing bigger. I’ve been guarding her, I’ve seen how she never panicked, never wavered—even when the world turned against her.”

Vikram sighed. “Arjun—”

“And then there’s Solomon Kane.” Arjun interrupted.“He’s a monster, Vikram. Not in a bad way, but in the way a warrior should be. The man is a natural predator in battle, a genius in the cockpit. You put him in a ch, and he moves like he was born inside one. He’s soone we want on our side, not against us.”

That finally made Vikram pause. The best soldiers respected power. And Solomon Kane, from what little he had seen, was raw power.

Arjun continued, voice lower now, but deadly serious. “And then there’s Henry Lancaster.” The weight of the na alone sent a ripple of tension through the room. “A man who controls fleets, commands respect from the highest military brass in the United States. Do you think the world will remain the sa after this? No. War is coming, Vikram. A real war. And when it does, having Jamie Lancaster as a friend is a hell of a lot better than having her as an enemy.”

Silence stretched between them.

Finally, Vikram exhaled and sat back in his chair. “You’re asking to commit political suicide for a woman the entire world is turning against.”

Arjun’s jaw tightened. “I’m asking you to make a choice. Do we follow the crowd like fools? Or do we recognize that we are witnessing the rise of soone who will change history?”

Vikram slowly rubbed his temples. Then he reached for his encrypted comms device.

“What do you need?”

A Powerful Gamble

That night, Jamie and Solomon were once again forced to abandon another safe house as operatives disguised as protestors attempted to breach the periter. But just when things seed their most desperate—

A military convoy arrived.

Indian soldiers in unmarked uniforms quickly secured the area, creating a protected periter. Within monts, Jamie was escorted to an armored transport, away from the hostile streets.

Inside the transport, Colonel Vikram Rathore was waiting.

Jamie studied him for a long mont before speaking. “You’re not doing this out of charity. What do you want?”

Vikram smirked. “I think you already know.”

Jamie narrowed her eyes. “An alliance?”

Vikram nodded. “The world is changing, Lancaster. I intend to be on the right side of history. You, Admiral Henry, and even Solomon Kane—you are people worth winning over.”

Jamie folded her arms. “And what convinced you?”

Vikram chuckled. “”

Vikram smiled slightly. "Because I don’t follow blind orders. And because my cousin happens to be the pilot of the Green Guardian assigned to Ms. Lancaster."

Jamie’s eyebrows raised slightly.

"Your cousin?"

Vikram nodded." Your pilot. Arjun. He made a damn good argunt. He told what you did back there. How you risked your life, how you fought like a warrior. He was impressed—so was I. He convinced that you’re worth backing. And I’ve decided he’s right."

Solomon chuckled. "So you're not here out of pure goodwill. You're thinking ahead."

Vikram smirked. "Of course. India's survival depends on making the right allies. And let’s be honest—Solomon Kane, you are monster who learns too fast for anyone’s comfort. He’ll be a nightmare for our enemies, and you, Ms. Lancaster… you’re too brilliant to be discarded."

Jamie turned toward Solomon, who smirked slightly but said nothing.

She extended her hand to Vikram.“Then let’s make history.”

They shook hands.

The first true counterstrike against Project Specter had just begun.
