"Do you feel uncomfortable anywhere?" he suddenly asked.

In the car’s cabin, his slightly languid voice sounded even more magnetic.

Song Yi glanced at him. He was looking at her with a friendly gaze, as if greeting a friend warmly.

Sothing unusual must be amiss.

She licked her lips and answered casually, "Not really."

"Captain Tang."

"Hmm?"

Song Yi shifted closer to him, a faint feminine fragrance wafting over, subtly invading his senses.

She then asked, "Isn’t this line of work tough?"

Tang Si gave Song Yi a half-smile, "What? Is President Song offering a massage service?"

His deep-set eyes carried a playful smile, cleverly avoiding her question, his words sounding jokingly but trying to lead her thoughts elsewhere.

Song Yi, 22 this year, was the head of Night Entertainnt, the precious daughter of the Song Family. She initially started as an online writer, then transitioned to screenwriting and script adaptation after gaining popularity, venturing into film and television production, making Night Entertainnt thrive.

The artists grood by her company almost invariably beca famous. Her ability to shape talent was potent.

Her company was now publicly listed, with a market value of over a billion. She did not rely on her family, nor did she take a di from them; she founded her business with her own earnings and copyright fees.

Young and accomplished, naturally, she wasn’t about to be led by the nose by Tang Si.

"I’m not professional at giving massages. If you need one, Captain Tang, I can recomnd soone," Song Yi said with a pleasant smile, steering the conversation her way. "I ant, are you interested in a career change?"

"I guarantee your salary would be a hundred tis what it is now."

In just a few words, Tang Si had already figured out this woman wasn’t easy to handle, and getting information wouldn’t be simple.

"Sure," Tang Si replied in a drawn-out tone, agreeing with her, "but perhaps you should clear your own suspicions first before discussing this with ?"

"...Damn it!"

Zhou Liang erged, having changed into fresh clothes by then.

The night was deep, and the fog outside was quite heavy; if it got any worse, the road would be invisible.

The group remained largely silent on their way.

They finally reached the building beneath Wu Wang’s apartnt.

The night was quiet, eerily still around them.

A cold wind whistled through, carrying a chilling bite unusual for a sumr night’s breeze.

"Hiss—" Suddenly, Song Yi felt a chill on the back of her neck.

Following that was a sharp pain, with sothing cold slipping down her neck.

She stood rooted to the spot, not daring to move.

Tang Si, hearing the noise, paused and glanced at her, "What happened?"

"My neck—" For reasons unknown, Song Yi felt an eerie cold seeping into every cell of her body.

Tang Si frowned, "Can I take a look?"

He was seeking permission, considering she was a woman.

"Okay." Her face didn’t look good.

She had never encountered such a bizarre situation.

Because, in the pitch-black night, beneath the building of a recent non-natural death victim, the back of her neck felt mysteriously, eerily wounded...

It was strange and frightening.

Under the dim streetlight, he reached over and lightly tugged at Song Yi’s clothes. On her fair neck was a conspicuous red mark, neither too deep nor too shallow.

Blood trickled down her neck.

Tang Si composed himself and looked upward.

The streetlight flickered twice with a "zzz—" sound, montarily plunging where they stood into darkness.

Above was a void of darkness, nothing visible there— or perhaps sothing was there, hidden by the shadows.

Zhou Liang looked sowhat frightened.

"Could there be a ghost?"

He knew he shouldn’t believe in such things, but at this mont, only those explanations seed plausible.

Tang Si’s expression turned stern, "Why the hell are you afraid of paranormal crap in the land of the living?"

"If I hear this kind of talk again, you’re fired tomorrow."

The tone was heavy, not loud, but very authoritative.

Zhou Liang swallowed hard and said weakly, "Boss, you yourself haven’t done anything human to be so strict with ..."

Why demand so much...?

"Hiss—" Still daring to talk back.

Tang Si licked his lips, and with a kick to Zhou Liang’s rear, said, "Get upstairs and find out what’s going on."

Thus, Zhou Liang clutched his backside, both scared and reluctant, and hurried upstairs.
