"Stop fussing," Tang Si tightened his embrace, pulling her close into his arms, burying his head into her neck, inhaling her scent, his voice raspy and slightly tired, "Stay with while I sleep for a bit."

Saying this, he gently kissed her collarbone and then held her as he drifted into a tranquil sleep.

Song Yi licked her lips, sensing his voice was truly exhausted, so she stayed still without making a sound.

...

How long the ti passed was unknown, the night was approaching as the dusky sun hung at the horizon.

So dim rays bead into the living room.

The man slowly opened his eyes, seeing the woman held in his arms asleep blissfully.

He began to seriously examine her face, noticing a hint of fatigue, realizing she probably hadn’t slept last night, waiting for him all along.

His fingertip lightly brushed across her cheek, tender and filled with affection.

In the past, coming back from a case, no matter how bitter or tired outside, he had always borne it alone.

There would be no one to console him, no one to buy him a al, most of the ti he was by himself.

Every task had to be endured alone.

But now, it was different; this feeling had a certain wonder.

The woman was beautiful, from a well-off family, with excellent conditions herself, yet she had chosen him.

Tang Si inadvertently curled up a corner of his lips, thinking of how she pursued him with finesse; she indeed had so tricks up her sleeve.

He couldn’t help but gently kiss Song Yi’s cheek, his voice intimate and smiling, "Picked up a treasure."

This seed like self-talk, but it startled the woman awake.

"Then you better hold onto this treasure of yours tightly," Song Yi said, burying herself deeper into his arms, as if unable to get close enough, wanting to be nearer.

"Are we returning to Ning City tomorrow?" Song Yi asked.

"Heading back tonight, there are so reports in the city that I need to deliver personally to Director Cheng," Tang Si replied, massaging Song Yi’s head, "Will you join ? Or do you want to stay here for a couple more days?"

"I’ll go with you," Song Yi pressed her lips together, "Are Zhou Liang and the others returning today too?"

Tang Si replied, "They’re heading back tomorrow; they need to wrap up so work here."

"Hmm," Song Yi propped up her arms and got off him, "Let help you pack your suitcase."

"I’ll drive."

Tang Si watched as the woman climbed off him and started bustling about.

"Quite responsible."

"What?" Song Yi was sorting out his clothes, hearing his remark but not catching his drift.

Tang Si sat up from the sofa, giving her a mischievous smile, "Responsible like a wife."

Song Yi: "..."

She didn’t banter back with him, silently focusing on packing his things.

Of course, Tang Si wouldn’t truly let her handle everything alone, and with not much stuff to pack, a few sweeps would suffice.

"You should pack your things too, we’ll leave after dinner."

"I won’t let you drive, I’ll find a driver," Tang Si said.

Song Yi: "That’s not acceptable, how would you know if these drivers are any good? What if sothing goes wrong?"

Song Yi would rather drive herself or have soone she trusts drive; she seldom rides in others’ cars.

Ever since that incident in childhood, she’s been exceedingly cautious in all matters.
