Song Yi buried her head in Tang Si’s embrace, speaking softly, as if seeking so kind of safety.
Tang Si let her move in his arms, quietly listening to her speak.
His lips moved slightly, just about to speak.
Then the woman in his arms said, "With ti passing, I can barely rember his face. Does that make seem heartless or cruel?"
"Even though I never really saw his face clearly, I only rember a vague outline."
Tang Si spoke, "Did he die for you?"
His low and llow voice was gentle, like a calm stream, possessing a calming power.
"I don’t know. I’ve been looking for him for a long ti. I want to repay him. He saved ," Song Yi looked up. "Without him, I might not be in this world."
The woman’s voice, trembling at first, inexplicably beca calm.
Tang Si gently rubbed Song Yi’s hair with his palm. "Hmm, do you still want to find him now?"
He didn’t ask Song Yi what had happened.
First, because he didn’t want to stir up those bad mories for her.
Second, because he didn’t want to hear it.
He couldn’t bear Song Yi suffering any harm or grievances. Even hearing about it, he couldn’t bear it.
Hearing Song Yi bring up that topic, Tang Si’s heart was tightly clenched.
He didn’t know what exactly Song Yi had been through.
But upon hearing that without him, she wouldn’t be in this world, it ant she had faced life and death.
She had almost not appeared beside him.
Song Yi lifted her head from his embrace, unable to make out the man’s face in the pitch-black night.
She reached out to turn on the small bedside lamp.
The dim light ca on, barely illuminating his face, with hair ssily across his forehead, looking down at her with affection.
His brow was furrowed tightly.
"I want to find him," Song Yi pressed her lips together. "But it’s been so long. I’ve spent so much ti searching, but I can’t find him... My parents said they saw no such young man at that ti."
She bit her lip, "Maybe I really can’t find him."
"Tell his features, the location, the ti, tell , as long as you want, I’ll help you search," the man’s deep voice slowly said.
Song Yi looked at Tang Si, sowhat surprised, "You..."
"Don’t you find it to be a tall tale?"
Such a thing is like finding a needle in a haystack, not to ntion so many years have passed, it’s really uncertain if that person can be found.
But this man didn’t utter a single comforting lie, wouldn’t present illusions before her.
His simple, "I’ll help you search," struck deep into Song Yi’s heart.
For many years, everyone advised her to give up and let it go.
Only Tang Si said he’d help her find him.
No words had more substance or strength than these.
He truly understood what she wanted most.
"It’s not a tall tale, to find soone, in this world, as long as they existed, you can find traces of their life."
"If we can’t find him, it only proves that our abilities are not enough, and the search isn’t thorough enough."
Tang Si bowed his head, lovingly kissing Song Yi’s corner of the eye, "Don’t cry."
"I also want to et the person who saved you, to know who he is, I want to properly thank him too," Tang Si said earnestly.
In the dim light, Song Yi only felt his brows and eyes soften to the point of lting.
"But..."
