Hospital.

Even at this hour, the hospital is still bustling with people.

Song Yi parked her car and strode inside.

"Hello, could you help identify this dication? A child at ho lost the bottle, and now there’s dicine scattered everywhere. I’ve forgotten what it was prescribed for, and I’m worried he took the wrong one. Could you take a look?"

Song Yi held out a pill in her hand.

This pill was taken from the batch Tang Si consud last night.

The doctor looked at it briefly and replied, "It’s just a common painkiller, available in the ward."

"Typically used for headaches."

Song Yi pressed her lips together, recalling Tang Si ntioning his headache on the sofa today.

Perhaps... it really was just for his headache.

"Thank you, doctor."

...

Song Yi left the hospital and got into the car, feeling deeply worried.

Holding the steering wheel with one hand, her mind was filled with thoughts of Tang Si.

Reflecting on all the emotions he had been experiencing recently.

Was that dication really just for headaches and not for depression? Was he simply suffering from a headache last night?

The more Song Yi thought about it, the more confused she beca. In frustration, she banged her forehead against the steering wheel.

Gathering her thoughts, she raised her head.

Taking a deep breath, as if encouraging herself, she turned the car around and drove toward the Criminal Investigation Departnt.

He was on duty, maybe she should check on his work situation.

Visiting that place always required courage.

The car quickly reached the entrance of the Criminal Investigation Departnt.

She opened the car door and got out. At that mont, her phone rang.

It was Li Wen.

"What’s up?" Song Yi answered the call at the entrance.

"I’ve found soone here who claims to have been a cleaner in the Yuan Mountain area before. He might have mories related to your childhood. Do you want to co over and ask?"

Events from childhood, and finding people related to that incident, was nearly impossible.

She had no idea what happened to those kidnappers in the end, whether they were prosecuted or not. They vanished without a trace.

Upon hearing this, Song Yi’s breathing slowed: "Are you sure he’s legit and not just another scamr?"

Over the years, she’d been searching for that boy from her childhood, but never found any solid information.

So many were just after money.

Having been scamd repeatedly, Song Yi’s emotions had beco more stable when faced with such news, but she always carried a shred of hope.

"Anyway, after all these years, it’s worth asking anyone who cos forward, just in case there’s a possibility of finding him."

Song Yi pressed her lips together, contemplating briefly: "I’ll co over in an hour or two."

...

After speaking, she hung up and took a deep breath, looking at the police station while suppressing her inner fears.

She bit her lower lip and prepared to enter.

"Sis-in-law?" A gentle male voice ca from behind.

Song Yi halted her steps forward.

Turning around, she saw Wen Mu.

Wen Mu wore a black coat and carried a bag of sothing in his hand, smiling warmly at her.

In the cooling night, everything seed to be soaked in tranquility.

Song Yi smiled slightly, "Quite a coincidence."

"What brings you here?"

Wen Mu smiled lightly, shaking the item in his hand: "My mom asked to bring this soup over and check on my brother, reminding him to take care of his health since the weather’s cooling down."

Song Yi looked at the item in his hand suspiciously, recalling the strained family dynamics at the previous banquet.

Tang Si seed indifferent to having any relationship with the Wen Family.

And the Wen Family didn’t seem eager to recognize Tang Si as their son.

Despite outwardly respectful and harmonious, their disdain was evident in their eyes.

Her gaze deepened on that item; was the Wen Family suddenly trying to curry favor with Tang Si?

What exactly are they up to?

"Hmm—" Song Yi pondered and nodded, "Alright then."

Her attitude toward Wen Mu was fairly cordial, not cold.

After all, during the previous mall escape, this guy had shielded her from a bullet.

"Can I ask you sothing?" Song Yi suddenly spoke.

Wen Mu raised his eyebrow, "Of course, anything I know, I’ll tell you."

His attitude was always gentle, as if he would never refuse any requests.

"Is Tang Si not on good terms with your family, or has there been so sort of conflict?"

Wen Mu chuckled at this question, "Did my brother ntion sothing to you?"

Song Yi chuckled back, crossing her arms and slightly shaking her head, "Not really, he’s usually too busy to chat about family matters."

That old rogue, when he had free ti, just thought of ways to tease her.

Song Yi’s words were smooth: "As his girlfriend, I need to understand his family, and since he won’t tell , I can only ask you."

With a radiant smile, she sized him up, "Besides, you seem quite free, don’t you?"

"About Tang Si... I’m wondering if you truly have a conflict, or if he just treats everyone like that?"

"Detached and indifferent, even toward his own parents?"

Song Yi’s words carried a probing tone, but each sentence felt like an interrogation.

Her gaze was too sharp, hidden within her alluring eyes.

It felt as if, should he reveal any mistreatnt toward Tang Si, she would certainly hold them accountable.

A woman like this...

Asking questions with a casual deanor, truly a formidable character.

Wen Mu smiled lightly, answering softly, "No, he’s not born of our mother."

His reply was quite sincere, "His mother passed away, and he takes her surna. My mother married my father later on, and then they had ."

Song Yi pressed her lips, no wonder Tang Si doesn’t share the Wen surna.

"Sis-in-law, my brother has a grudge against the family, possibly due to our parents favoring . Given my young age, many of my misdeeds were pinned on him..."

Wen Mu paused, "Maybe he can still endure such things, but what truly hurt was our parents punishing him indiscriminately... Our family’s way of handling things was flawed, and I take the bla. I was immature, which might have left a lingering shadow in my brother’s mind."

Song Yi listened to his words with a hint of skepticism.

Song Yi: "Like what kind of things?"

"Um..." Wen Mu delved into his mories, then said, "Rebellious acts, like accidentally pushing a young girl off the third floor, and she didn’t survive."

"I was scared because I was so young, so I claid my brother pushed her..."
