Liu Linyue was calm from beginning to end, as if everything was following a set script.

Whether it was her previous outburst or the current eerie vibe.

Tang Si understood that when Liu Linyue ntioned having bubble tea, it wasn’t a discussion—it was sothing she was determined to do.

...

In a shopping center of high standard.

Outdoor tables and chairs, leaning against the railing, the view was of the bustling traffic, the beautiful river scenery, and on the side, another skyscraper.

Liu Linyue didn’t choose to sit but stood beside the railing.

Tang Si stood opposite her.

His gaze calmly fixed on her.

Liu Linyue held bubble tea in her hand, she couldn’t see anything, yet she specifically chose this location.

The cold wind blew, slightly ruffling Tang Si’s bangs in front.

Leaning carelessly against the railing, he asked, "You care a lot about your sister, why?"

Liu Linyue bit the straw, her small face pale and clean, her innocent voice answering, "Why do you ask?"

Tang Si chuckled lightly, "You didn’t kill your father, you just witnessed it. Why go out of your way to confess and clear your sister’s na?"

"Oh?" Liu Linyue, holding her bubble tea, curved her lips into a faint smile, "There are so things I don’t want to repeat too often."

She said, "Officer, I want to ask you a question."

Tang Si silently watched her.

Liu Linyue asked, "At my age, if soone kills, what are the consequences?"

Tang Si slightly narrowed his eyes, intoning gravely, "The consequences are severe. It would ruin your entire life."

He didn’t want to get into this with Liu Linyue now: "You said you wanted to talk to alone, you even brought out here, what do you want to say? Go ahead."

As Tang Si’s words fell, he noticed a slight rise and fall of Liu Linyue’s shoulders.

His gaze landed naturally on her left foot, which kept subtly but intentionally against the corridor glass.

Being young, she couldn’t quite reach the corridor above, so her left foot kept pressing against that glass.

Tang Si squinted his eyes.

A tinge of caution grew in his heart.

Liu Linyue smiled, "Officer, if police negligence leads to an accident, what are the consequences?"

Her face bead with a smile, basking in the sunlight, white gauze wrapped around her eyes, she looked up at the bustling world outside.

Cold wind blew through her hair, her smile was as pure as an angel’s.

The next mont, she turned her gaze towards Tang Si, and through the gauze, she seed as if she could see him.

Then a sinister smile curled at her lips, accompanied by the chill wind, sending a cold shiver down one’s spine.

"I hate you so much. Why investigate? Why bully a child like ?"

Liu Linyue lowered her head, chuckled low, her tone eerie and cold, "So, I want you to suffer too."

In an instant, she kicked open the piece of glass beneath her left foot, diving her entire body through the glass.

Tang Si’s eyes sharpened, he instantly crouched and grabbed her foot.

In a flash, Liu Linyue was entirely suspended in the air.

Jumping down would lead directly onto the main road—not just risking death from the fall, but potentially being run over.

The car horns blared like death knells, echoing intermittently.

Tang Si’s hand tightened on her foot, his veins visibly strained.

Though she was light, the force of gravity was not.

Liu Linyue’s face remained calm and pale, her hair dancing in the wind like a lifeless puppet doll, devoid of vitality.

Tang Si’s arm scraped against the corridor glass, leaving a deep gash, bright red blood glistening, running down his vein-bulging arm to Liu Linyue’s foot.

Beads of blood dripped, forming a disturbing, intense visual.

If it were anyone else, they might not have noticed her left foot’s motion in ti to catch her.

Tang Si tried to pull her up.

His hand gained strength, just as he was pulling her up.

A swift stream of air tore through the atmosphere, heading towards Tang Si.

He realized and reacted, but it was too late to dodge.

The bullet ca from the skyscraper’s side.

"Bang—!" A clear, sharp sound of a blast, the sound of a bullet taking a life.

"Bang—!" A heavy thud, like liquid splattering, the sound of a body hitting the ground.

"Ah!!" The crowd below shrieked in terror.

Pain shot through his hand, the sudden loss of weight made Tang Si shiver, almost slipping down after her.

With one hand, he gripped the shattered glass railing fiercely, the glass piercing his hand, staining the glass red with blood...

...

A police line cordoned off the road in front of the skyscraper.

That day, that road, was jamd for two hours.

The police cleaned up the scene of blood mixed with bubble tea, while bystanders rcilessly fild with their phones.

Versions of the event went viral online.

Do these matter...?

...

On the corridor, blood dripped continuously from the man’s left hand, his right hand clutching his left arm, blood rushing out through his fingers.

The sweat from his forehead trailed down past his cheek to his collarbone, soaking him completely.

Teeth gritted, without uttering a sound.

Passersby stared at him, not daring to approach or give him a hand.

He shakily got up from the ground, his own heavy breathing loud in his ears, a tight string pulling at his nerves.

His first decision was to rush downstairs, towards the other building, the sniper point, to catch the one who escaped.

Blood dripped down his arm with every step he took.

Seemingly unaware of the pain, he pressed into the cold wind across the urban hustle, unseeing of the spot Liu Linyue fell.

He ran into an alley.

A dark figure, lugging a sniper rifle case, dashed past.

Tang Si gritted his teeth, drew his own pistol, and pursued.

Unbeknownst to him, his hands, slick with blood, were trembling beyond control.

Turning a corner, the person stood with their back to Tang Si.

"Chasing to your death?" he said, "Dying won’t be easy—I’ll ensure you can’t live nor die."

"Heh..." Tang Si’s hair was drenched with sweat, his alluring eyes fixed on that back, his vision darkened, shadows doubled.

Tang Si shook his head to clear it, wiped his eyes with his hand, saring blood across his face and eyelashes, lending a grotesque elegance.

The scene before him turned blood-red and blurred by the sar.

He breathed deeply, the weight unbearable.

"Cut... cut the damn crap." Tang Si raised his gun, aid at the back silhouette, "Either take down, or you’re coming back to the station with ."

The man turned partially, mask over his face, wearing sunglasses, a cap pulled low obscuring his features.

He saw Tang Si’s trembling composed entirely from sweat, a slight smirk twisted his lips, "Look at you, a three-year-old could take you down."

"Then," Tang Si gritted his teeth, "try it."

His alluring eyes fringed with blood vessels, emitting fierceness.
