Palr once again saw those deford monstrous birds. They spread their wings, with feathers of deep black and gray entangled into a disgusting pattern. Their bright red claws and sharp beaks were of varying degrees of deformity. Each feather buzzed with a heart-stopping sound as it flapped in the air, like a scythe of death, capable of shattering anything in its path.
Outside the Fourth Seat, among them were three Negative Power Users, but other than them, all the Secret Swords were Prayer Believers and Condensers of low tier ranks.
The suppressive fire from the Silent Ones and the assault of the monstrous birds posed a significant threat to the low-tier Condensers. Even the Negative Power Users were sowhat suppressed to so extent.
By sheer numbers, the attack of the Secret Swords was temporarily held back.
Countless monstrous birds rampaged across the sky, their deford forms equipped with dense crimson eyeballs, observing all directions of the surrounding environnt.
So Silent Ones fell and died. At this mont, monstrous birds swooped down, their sharp claws easily digging into skulls. The ends of the claws seed to have nerve synapses, deeply embedding into the brain, controlling the fallen corpses to continue wielding weapons in battle. As they flapped their wings, the heads beneath them swayed along with their movents, like uncontrollable puppets.
Strange cries continued endlessly.
"The King’s Shield Guards have prepared well," Palr marveled, "This force is enough for a small-scale war."
"Focus, Palr. It’s ti to go."
Bologue only gave a glance at the frontline battlefield and then paid no more attention.
He had to rely on the umbilical cord to find the Shadow King and then launch a signal flare to guide the Fourth Seat direction. Before that, the Fourth Seat would lead the Secret Swords in a slaughter, sharing Bologue’s pressure.
In this aspect, the Fourth Seat was performing well. The King’s Secret Swords engaged the Silent Legion, and even the Silver Knights of the Third Seat appeared in multiples, all of which were formidable enemies Bologue encountered during the last operation.
Now, the internal defenses of the Fog Abyss Fortress were incredibly empty.
The clamor of slaughter and the sll of blood didn’t disturb Bologue in the slightest.
"I thought you’d be more excited," Palr said, "You always enjoyed this, haven’t you?"
Bologue didn’t respond. He knew well the importance of this mission, his mind exceptionally focused.
Too many forces had mingled this ti, and no one knew what would happen next.
The King’s Secret Swords might betray. The King’s Shield Guards might submit. The Tyrant’s power might unleash completely...
The whole situation was like a stable triangular structure, maintaining balance. But once any side leaned towards another, it would completely break the balance, bringing the battle to an end.
A sharp howling sound ca, and the monstrous birds spotted Bologue and Palr. They flapped their wings, flying rapidly towards the two of them, accompanied by many ard soldiers and several Silent Ones.
The Silent Ones saw Bologue. The Silent Ones saw Bologue.
From the mouth of the congregate, knowing the weaknesses of the Silent Ones, Bologue realized another thing.
Once the Silent Ones united as one, then in the power of the Seeker of Glory, it would beco incredibly terrifying.
This could be seen from the Silent Legion. How vast must the amount of Ether be that the Silent Ones possess, to support such a large-scale legion?
The power of a single Seeker of Glory was insufficient to sustain all this; there must be another force assisting the Silent Ones.
Perhaps the Protection of the Devil?
Based on these conditions, Bologue speculated that, once united as one, the massively overlapping power would make the Silent Ones surpass most of the Seekers of Glory, even touching the power of a Crowned.
Truly a contradictory yet incredibly powerful force.
The Silent Ones are Undead, their Alchemy Matrix too ancient. But the massive amount of Ether brought about by unity as one was enough to erase the eras of differences. In Bologue’s imagination, only Nesanel, the strongest offensive Seeker of Glory in the history of the Order Bureau, could stand directly against the Silent Ones.
And... also Overlord Xilin.
The explosive howling wind interrupted Bologue’s thoughts. Beside him, Palr decisively swung the Storm Feather. They split one by one, carried by the whirlwind, raising a tal storm that annihilated all the approaching monstrous birds.
The gale ca head-on, mixed with blood foam, striking dotted spots onto Bologue’s face.
Bologue strode forward, eting the soldiers and Silent Ones holding the frontline. Simultaneously, his heart raced, blood relentlessly coursed through his veins, and his blood pressure rose intensely.
Since the Fourth Seat launched the attack, since the first corpse fell, since the first drop of blood fell...
Eerie hallucinations descended at Bologue’s ears, strong heartbeat sounds as if they were the heartbeat of a dragon, so muffled and roaring, resembling the beat of war drums.
Murmuring voices urged Bologue as his hand gripped the axe handle, the heat emanating from it was as if he was holding a piece of burning iron.
But he didn’t feel any pain.
"Truly bizarre..."
Bologue drew the Resentful Bite with his left hand and swung the Vengeful Saw Axe with his right. The Resentful Bite was as silent as ever, like a shadow with a physical form. In contrast, the Vengeful Saw Axe continuously emitted violent malice, as if it had co alive, sniffing the abundant blood aura.
