This page describes a mysterious being, the first stranger Ewen encountered after leaving Daisy Castle at the start of his journey toward immortality.

Ewen had never t anyone like him; it was as if he knew all the art and philosophy from throughout history. Talking to him was a true pleasure.

Ewen had told the story of immortality to many, and everyone’s answers were surprisingly identical and surprisingly wrong—except for his. His was the only one that satisfied Ewen, for it was the true path to immortality that Ewen had always adhered to.

"Erwin Flesher."

A deep, hoarse voice called out to Ewen.

The voice stirred Ewen’s dormant heart, making it pound with vigor like an engine once more.

"Ewen, you are exactly who I need, soone invaluable, if you are willing..."

In his mory, towards the end of their conversation, the man said this, extending his hand toward Ewen.

Ewen put down his pen, stopped recording the man, clearly eting him for the first ti, despite the seemingly cryptic remark he made.

But Ewen knew, as long as he agreed to the man’s proposal, he could obtain the immortality he had longed for...

No one told Ewen why, but he just knew that if he took the man’s hand, entrusted his fate to him, he would attain eternal life.

"No..."

He shook his head, turning down the man’s invitation, bidding farewell to eternal ti.

For a mortal, it was an offer hard to refuse, yet Ewen dismissed it so effortlessly, even now recalling it seed unbelievable.

The man’s hand froze in mid-air, and he burst into laughter till tears erged, as if Ewen’s rejection delighted him imnsely.

"How wonderful..."

The man stood up, his figure towering like a shadow over the sky and earth.

"Ewen, you didn’t disappoint ." The man’s voice, sinister like a specter, echoed beside Ewen’s ear continuously, "Had you accepted my offer, you would, in fact, be worthless."

Ewen vaguely guessed the man’s identity.

"Share your views on immortality and life story with , and I shall bless you."

As they parted, the man extended his finger, pressed it against Ewen’s chest. The burning pain spread at his chest, thus carving a sun imprint.

"May your journey not be in vain."

The page soaked entirely in blood, at the end of the writing, Ewen saw the man’s na he recorded.

Ewen softly called.

"Belphegor."

In an instant, the power that reverses life and death burst forth from Ewen’s chest. The sun imprint burned vigorously, healing completely, returning into his body, heart pounding vigorously, squeezing out the only blood and endowing it with boundless strength, infusing every inch of flesh and bone.

Ewen felt like his body would ignite under the scorching sun’s burn, all the pain sensations faded as terrifying wounds began to heal, broken bones re-set and were reforged.

The hazy visions disappeared, leaving only absolute clarity.

Soone stood behind Ewen, and he knew it was the man nad Belphegor, watching him from within the darkness.

Then he turned and left.

Ewen murmured, "We are even now."

The demons gazed at the re-standing Ewen, puzzled at how this ordinary human had the strength to move. So demons wiped the saliva from their mouths, greedily eyeing Ewen’s flesh, while others curiously picked up the paper, attempting to see what was written on it.

Another demon picked up the ticket sandwiched between the paper pages. Two tickets stuck tightly together, one old, one brand new.

Just as the demon intended to closely observe these two tickets, a deafening roar resounded.

Cinderella had never seen this side of Ewen, as if rediscovering him anew. Previously, no matter what danger he encountered, Ewen always remained rational and composed, like a dignified gentleman, never losing his etiquette even if the storm approached.

But now, Ewen’s eyes were blood-red, like a ferocious beast, unleashing unimaginable strength from his aging body. He trod over blood and paper, the deadly Short Sword slicing demon throats with precision.

A bloody storm howled through the narrow corridor. Before the demon could respond, a brutal punch shattered his face.

"Give it back to !"

The Short Sword, like an ice pick, effortlessly pierced the demon’s forehead, impaling his brain and, with another heavy punch, Ewen snapped the demon’s neck.

Before the corpse hit the ground, Ewen retrieved the tickets from the demon’s hand, and as they returned to his possession, the fury and wildness left him suddenly.

Ewen returned to his familiar self, staggered to the wall, every muscle surged with acid and fatigue. He gazed passionately at the tickets, carefully wiping off the blood, placing them back into his close pocket, feeling at ease.

Blood washed over Cinderella’s feet, filled with bewildernt in her gaze.

Riding on the surge of his rage, Ewen massacred all the demons within the corridor, the bodies piling up, emitting a nauseating stench.

Cinderella muttered to herself, "The author is the perfect deceiver."

Ewen said nothing, only smiled the sa as before, tottering toward Cinderella, trailing countless strands of blood.

Cinderella did not step back, for just as she deceived Ewen, Ewen too was deceiving her. This man, who went by the pen na Blue Jay, was certainly not as simple as he seed.

Yet Cinderella felt that Ewen was about to tell her that secret, which she greatly anticipated.

The weave of blood and fire unraveled and peeled away the husk of their secrets until exposed under the sunlight.

Ewen clutched his chest, the Devil’s power healed his wounds, but it couldn’t change his mortal essence; he was too tired, almost to the point of collapse.

The girl in his eyes started to blur, multiple shadows overlapping with her, in a daze Ewen seed to see that elusive figure once more.

Ewen reached out, beseeching.

A warm light shone on Ewen, followed by roaring flas erupting from the elevator, swallowing Ewen, the booming heat wave carrying demon corpses like gaseous tides crashing through the intersecting halls.

Cinderella lunged to grab Ewen, but the howling heat wave also hit her, like a hurricane, sweeping away all obstacles, leaving only the charred silence to persist.
