In order to avoid dying a miserable death due to his own bad luck, Palr, who never usually carried supplies, had prepared a few in advance. As expected, from the mont he set foot on the Paradise, disaster struck without pause.
"Just to be clear, I’m not afraid of dying, I just need a little replenishnt."
Palr hesitated at the gap, casually explaining to Geoffrey, then turned to look at Duwa, that bastard had been hiding in the back since the battle started... well, him joining the fight wouldn’t be of much help anyway.
Then Palr glanced at Ewen and Cinderella, those unfortunate souls who stumbled into the conflict. Their faces were pale. Palr’s gust wasn’t enough to kill the Condensers, but it nearly suffocated these two ordinary humans in the deadly wind speed of hundreds of kiloters, almost taking their lives.
Ewen panted heavily, and the lack of oxygen filled his vision with all sorts of hallucinations, and auditory illusions intensified in his ears.
The woman from his mories lingered at his side, whispering softly to him.
Cinderella seed in better condition. Being younger, her physical fitness and resistance were significantly stronger than old Ewen.
Duwa had long since lowered his gun aid at the two. He figured he didn’t need to monitor these two unfortunates. In this mad banquet, the two could die at any mont from the aftermath of so Secret Energy, without any intervention needed from him.
Ewen barely recovered. His heart thudded violently. He wanted to say sothing but couldn’t utter a single word, while Cinderella stayed faithfully by his side.
It was hard to imagine how stable Cinderella’s mindset was in this situation. Her eyes showed little fear; instead, she clenched her fists, encouraging Ewen.
"Hang in there! Ewen, hasn’t your new book been published yet?"
Cinderella tugged on Ewen’s shoulder, trying to get him to stand. Ewen felt dizzy, like his whole body was stuffed into a spinning washing machine.
"Think about your journey to immortality, think about that Fire Opal woman... at least think of your readers!"
Cinderella hoisted Ewen’s shoulder, but no matter how she tried, Ewen remained unmoved, seemingly stripped of his soul, left with only a numb shell.
"Get a grip! Ewen!"
Cinderella shouted at Ewen, who stared directly at her, as if gazing at her face or perhaps soone else’s.
Palr, having digested the "Mang Silver Soul," glanced at Ewen and Cinderella. He didn’t bother too much with their thoughts, considering he could barely protect himself under such circumstances, let alone having the strength to care for these ordinary people.
All Palr could do was end this conflict before more people died. Although he didn’t understand the relationship between Ewen, Nolen and the entire event, Palr had a good impression of Ewen. It was just a sha they t at the wrong ti and place. If it had been in so bar in Opus, Palr wouldn’t mind inviting Ewen for a ga of tabletop.
Just as Palr was about to leap to the lower level and join in on the monster brawl, Cinderella suddenly gave Ewen a resounding slap. Since the na Ewen Flesher couldn’t awaken him, Cinderella decided to call Ewen by another na.
"Wake up! Crown Blue Jay!"
The na held a magical power, and Ewen’s murky, blurred pupils gradually beca clear as all the clamor receded.
Ewen recognized the girl in front of him and said, "Cinderella."
"Damn it! Get up! Crown Blue Jay!"
Cinderella felt she was worrying herself to death over Ewen. She clumsily pulled at his shoulders, trying in vain to make him stand, but at this mont, the ground beneath them continued trembling, and the battle of the monsters on the lower level was dragging the surrounding areas into destruction.
Amid the cracking sounds, the ground under the two of them suddenly tilted, a huge crack dividing it, resembling a hiding monster, opening its jaws from underground.
In this life-or-death mont, another angry exclamation echoed.
"Crown Blue Jay!"
Palr forcefully stopped his leap, staring directly at Ewen. From Ewen’s experiences, such a gaze would only appear in two situations: seeing a long-lost lover, or encountering a blood-debt enemy.
Palr’s voice was sowhat out of control, "You’re the damn Crown Blue Jay!"
"Dear God! How many enemies do you have?!"
Cinderella complained to Ewen, grabbing onto a protrusion on the ground to prevent sliding into the darkness on the inclined floor.
Ewen also managed to stab out a Short Sword, embedding it in the ground, clinging to the tilted surface.
"I don’t know," Ewen explained, "I’ve only t him twice!"
"Twice and you’ve ford a deep-seated grudge?!"
"How would I know?!"
Ewen had no idea what Palr was on about. If there was truly hatred between them, Palr should have killed him already. Why was he acting like this now?
At this mont, Palr felt his heart trembling as everything connected. Crown Blue Jay had been beside him all along, damn it!
From the lower level ca a terrifying Ethereal Shock. This Shock Hamr completely shattered the precarious ground, and amidst Ewen and Cinderella’s cries, they fell uncontrollably into the darkness.
Palr froze for a second, then in the next, he forced the exhausted Ether with the aid of "Mang Silver Soul," squeezing out a certain amount of power.
Light trails covered his entire body.
In this mad banquet, so fought for ideals, others for their wives and daughters, so for duty, and others for vengeance.
At this mont, Palr also found his reason to fight, though if possible, he really didn’t want to explain it to others.
"Damned life encounters!"
Palr cursed the bizarre twists of life, then charged into the next level without hesitation, joining the monsters’ party.
