Ewen rarely doubted his writing ability. Even though he wasn’t formally trained and his career was fraught with challenges, from the mont he started writing the first character, his overwhelming confidence made him ignore all doubts.
He thought he would always remain this confident, but when the train ticket’s ti was set and that train which only existed in distant mory was coming towards him, Ewen realized how terrified and uneasy he felt.
Joy, anticipation, satisfaction, timidity, fear, dread...
Ewen knew why he felt joyful and understood his fear. He tried to describe his feelings at the mont, but he racked his brains and could not find the right words to perfectly express them.
This caused Ewen imnse pain, but fortunately, his suffering was short-lived as imnse joy was soon to capture him, bringing a perfect conclusion to Ewen’s thirty-three years of relentless pursuit.
The story will reach its conclusion.
Ewen had fantasized about his own ending. He might unwillingly die, or he might contentedly survive, or maybe nothing would change, as if nothing ever happened.
Fortunately, Ewen was just about to achieve it, completing that dirty secret buried deep within. He had never revealed this true side of himself to anyone.
Even more fortunately, if everything went smoothly, Ewen would have no chance to tell anyone.
"Perhaps this side is the final goodbye."
Ewen murmured to himself as he turned around. Canary, carrying Bai Ou’s head, walked towards the end of the train, where Gold was stationed and guarded by two team leaders, with Aimou following behind, wanting to see if Duwa had made any progress.
Palr and Hart were still sitting in their seats, with Palr animatedly telling jokes, making Hart laugh, his massive fra shaking. Bologue sat on the other side, gazing out the train window.
Ewen had only spent a brief ti with these Condensers, but this short period completely refreshed his perception of them.
Condensers, essentially, were also humans with seven emotions and six desires, with joys and sorrows, not just cold-blooded killing machines. Even more unexpectedly for Ewen, everyone liked his work very much, and this wonderful recognition strengthened Ewen’s confidence even more.
Finally, his gaze shifted to Cinderella. She leaned against Hart, vigorously clutching Hart’s furry hair. She was naturally sociable and easily blended into the atmosphere with her harmless appearance. Stray hairs brushing against the skin caused a tickling sensation.
Until the end, Ewen couldn’t figure out this girl and now had no opportunity to. He didn’t overthink it; life is like this, with little that one can control, more is just going with the flow, too many unsolved mysteries and regrets, one more or less wouldn’t change much.
Ewen silently bid farewell to the people, heading towards the front of the carriage. anwhile, Cinderella noticed Ewen’s gaze; when she looked up, all she saw was a departing silhouette and a closing train door.
The whole train had only the Order Bureau passengers, the other compartnts were empty. Cinderella didn’t know what Ewen was going to do, and at this mont, Bologue also stood up and, under Cinderella’s watch, followed Ewen.
In Palr’s description, Palr portrayed Ewen as an extrely intriguing figure. It was rare for soone to continually amaze Palr, which is why Bologue always wanted to chat with Ewen, but lacked a suitable opportunity.
Bologue thought that after the ga ended it would be a good opportunity, but obviously, sothing unexpected occurred.
In the enclosed carriage, Bologue could perceive that sinister heartbeat, a sound so faint it was almost indiscernible, but by virtue of his deep bond with the Devil, Bologue could sense that heartbeat almost resonating with his own, whispering in the darkness, speaking of frenzied and bizarre words.
A cold serpent slithered through Bologue’s sleeve, gathering in his palm, ready at any mont to transform into a blade ready to slit a throat.
Pulling the door open, entering the next carriage, Bologue silently followed behind Ewen, completely unnoticed by Ewen as he continued to head towards the front of the train.
After walking through several carriages, Ewen had distanced himself from the ard carriages at the rear, his steps staggering, pulling open door after door.
Opening the side door, a gust of wind rushed inside the carriage, making it hard for Ewen to keep his eyes open. In his younger days, Ewen would have jumped without hesitation, but now he couldn’t do it; with his scarred body, jumping now might really lead to his death.
Ewen had no choice. That insane banquet he would attend alone; he couldn’t involve others from the carriage, as it had nothing to do with them.
The internal struggle did not last long; Ewen mustered the courage, ready to leap out, when cold intertwining serpents blocked the door and solidified before him into an impenetrable iron wall. A slight piercing pain ca from the back of his neck, as if a slender needle pierced his skin.
Ewen sighed; the unexpected still happened. He raised his hands, lifted above his head, and turned around slowly, only to be t with Bologue’s chilling, cold cyan eyes.
