As if unwilling to admit defeat, Bologue resisted the overwhelming pressure, offering this response: he would not trust the astronaut, Bologue could only trust himself and everything he had seen with his own eyes.
"Alright, I look forward to that mont."
The astronaut spoke with a strange smile, seeming either to be glad that Bologue had not fallen into his trap, or mocking Bologue’s desperate struggle.
He raised his hand, his large fingers pressing down on Bologue’s forehead.
"Then, see you next ti, Bologue Lazarus."
The surrounding space began to warp, Bologue’s figure turned abstract like a painting, twisting, deforming, and ultimately completely peeling away from Between Nothingness.
Bologue disappeared, leaving the astronaut alone within the desolate Ring Mountain.
Before the astronaut could enjoy a mont of tranquility, a Curved Path Gate slowly opened in the darkness, and an unexpected visitor arrived.
Belphegor pushed open the gate, looking puzzled, still in his leisurely pajamas, as if visiting a friend’s house.
"What’s going on?"
"What?"
"Was this place sealed just now?" Belphegor suspiciously surveyed the surroundings, "The path got tangled up, preventing from passing through."
The astronaut lied, "I was just observing, perhaps the ether disturbance affected this area."
"Is that so?"
Belphegor directly sat down on the recliner, this lazy devil, who recently had been unusually active, no longer holed up in the cinema, but often ventured Between Nothingness.
"The Order Bureau has so movents; they’re attempting to explore the Ethereal Realm, but I don’t know the details."
Belphegor complained, "I’m just a puppet of the Order Bureau, unable to interfere with them at all."
"Don’t worry, they won’t find anything useful in the Ethereal Realm," said the astronaut, "even if they learn so secrets, they won’t understand our real intentions."
"I agree with that, but caution is still warranted," Belphegor continued, "especially when it cos to your Chosen One, Bologue Lazarus."
"What about him?"
Belphegor’s expression turned serious, "Regardless, he is a person of the Order Bureau."
"Initially, I intended to corrupt the Order Bureau using Xilin’s invasion; after finally turning the Director of the Order Bureau into my Chosen One, they imprisoned her. I can feel she’s still alive but can’t detect any actions."
The astronaut suggested, "You can abandon her."
Belphegor shook his head, "I’ve put all my chips on her, and before this conflict ends, I don’t have the resources to choose another Chosen One."
"That’s indeed regrettable."
"So I hope you stay vigilant regarding Bologue, the Order Bureau isn’t as simple as we think... at least not the Decision Room."
Countless tis Belphegor attempted to invade the Decision Room to see what the Order Bureau was up to, but upon action, he realized he couldn’t even find its location.
The Decision Room seed to exist in a completely different space, not within the Cultivation Room; he even suspected all external connections of the Decision Room were through so near-undetectable spatial shifting thods, making everyone believe the Decision Room was within the Cultivation Room.
"As your Chosen One, what role does Bologue play in this plan?"
Discussing Bologue, Belphegor held complex emotions; judging from his pursuit of poetry, Bologue was undoubtedly an excellent Poet. If possible, Belphegor longed to gain Bologue’s perspective, to pen his life’s story.
But that was rely a longing.
His pursuit of poetry was just Belphegor’s way to pass the ti; regardless of how he praised the greatness of poets, it couldn’t change his evil essence.
The Devil’s essence.
Belphegor seriously regarded his allies; they had conflicted as blood kin over countless tis, knowing each other’s nature all too well.
No one could absolutely trust anyone else.
"Him? In my plan, under my guidance, he will find the Gate of Origin... I guess he’ll close that gate to stop the rising ether concentration. Of course, whether he closes it or ignores it, whatever he chooses won’t change anything."
Listening to the astronaut, Belphegor burst into laughter, "Oh my, is this the truth in a lie?"
"I’ve begun to pity Bologue now."
Belphegor enjoyed the astronaut’s joke; it was so amusing, enough to stir anyone’s heart.
"I anticipate his despairing expression."
Belphegor, clutching his stomach, leaned back in the recliner, laughing for a while before slowly stopping, bringing another ssage.
"Asmodeus has agreed, she chooses to join our War Chariot to oppose others."
Belphegor asked the astronaut, "What do you think?"
"Very good," the astronaut nodded, "So what are we waiting for?"
A ring of the doorbell sounded, and a glamorous figure pushed open the door Belphegor had entered from, dragging a fiery red gown with graceful steps to stand before the two.
Asmodeus spoke, "I’ve sent the Joy Park train to track according to your weather maps."
The astronaut wasn’t concerned about the ssage Asmodeus brought; instead, he observed that exquisite face, exclaiming, "My blood kin, you look much more haggard; is it because of humanity?"
Asmodeus didn’t respond, her fiery eyes rising to gaze at that clear blue planet, appearing like a brilliant gem set against the dark void.
For the first ti, she viewed the world from this angle, overwheld by myriad emotions transcending the barriers of ti and space.
Asmodeus murmured, "I hate change."
