First of all,
Bologue is an incredibly exceptional partner, in every sense of the word.
Before eting Bologne, Palr always worked alone due to his bad luck. But working solo inevitably led to unforeseen incidents, and Palr’s career could only be described as plagued with disasters.
Just when Palr felt life was hopeless and his streak of bad luck was endless, his fortune unexpectedly turned around, leading him to et Bologue and beco partners.
Those were good days.
A smoothly progressing career, a partner who was easy-going and pressure-free to work with, and surprisingly had overlapping interests.
Of course, the best thing of all, this partner couldn’t die.
Explosions echoed behind, like a rabid beast wantonly destroying buildings, crushing lives along the way. It seed like a shield machine drilling unrestrictedly within the Fog Abyss Fortress, resembling a giant worm gnawing the mountainside full of holes.
Palr trusted Bologue’s decisions without doubt, and when Bologue told him to run, he ran.
The escape was anything but smooth; Palr could distinctly feel countless Ether reactions rising behind walls, one after another.
The Condensers of the King’s Shield Guard had discovered him early on, but Bologue was with him; these guys knew they were no match for Bologue, so they remained concealed.
Now that Palr was separated from Bologue, these hunting wolves attempted to prey on the lone Palr, and soon he would et these enemies.
Palr’s nerves tensed up as he lowered his breath.
In the intersecting corridors, two Condensers attacked first, their Ether mounting high, gripping their weapons. According to their blurred perceptions, they confird Palr was at this location. Yet, looking into the dim, deep corridor, Palr was nowhere in sight.
As they stood puzzled, an Ether reaction suddenly burst forth before them.
They looked up to see Palr releasing Ethereal Concealnt, falling down from above; he had been lying in wait to ambush the enemy.
"Don’t underestimate ."
Palr muttered to himself, Ether swiftly flowing around him like a whirling storm, tugging at everyone’s heartstrings.
The two Condensers gripped their sword hilts, preparing to counterattack, but an imnse pressure accompanied Palr’s descent. The roaring gale filled their ears, a high-pitched vibration causing blood to gradually seep from their ears.
They attempted to draw their swords, but as the blades barely lifted, the increased pressure forced them back into the scabbard.
Secret Energy·Furious Wind Pardon!
By precisely manipulating airflow, Palr could increase or decrease air pressure in an area. The sudden pressure surge montarily suppressed the two Condensers, catching them off guard, and the howling Wind Blade left them covered in cuts.
By now, the Ether of both n had violently surged, counterattacks were imminent, and likewise, Palr was already between them, Storm Feather raised high.
"Back then, I was also the Rookie of the Year."
Palr murmured, his words tinged with lancholy.
It was a case of the new wave overwhelming the old; since the ergence of Bologue, the star-studded Rookie of the Year, no one rembered Palr. Now he was stuck with the stereotype of being unlucky, nailed into everyone’s mind.
"Damn it!"
One cursed, swinging his sword against the Storm Feather, but Palr was faster, firstly, due to his higher Tier, and secondly due to the acceleration effects of Secret Energy·Furious Wind Pardon.
From a scientific standpoint, under the reality-warping effects of Secret Energy, every strike Palr delivered perfectly adhered to aerodynamics, rapid beyond asure.
Scarlet blood light flashed as the sword-wielding arm swung briskly, the Condenser staring blankly at his severed limb, shock written all over his face.
These guys were rely First Stage Condensers, lacking any overly potent reality-warping abilities or enough lethal direct attack thods.
Palr closed in on the enemy, slicing with the dagger. A line of blood trailed along the throat; the Condenser stood frozen, his vision shifting, heavily falling, a headless corpse facing Palr, the scene freezing.
Echoes of terror resonated from behind; Palr could detect the blade’s descent from the disturbance in airflow, but as before, he was faster than anyone.
"Surprised, friend?"
Before the blade descended, the dark gun muzzle was already aid at the enemy, pulling the trigger. After the revolver roared, the alchemy warhead turned the enemy’s head into a spray of blood mist, and seconds later, the body fell straight down.
Palr swiftly resolved the two, but this didn’t an he was safe. He could sense Ether reactions quickly approaching from all sides; they were nurous and included Prayer Believers.
Taking a deep breath, Palr continued to sprint along the corridor. Under Ethereal Amplification and Secret Energy’s support, his speed was ghostly fast.
The surging Ether billowed closer; Palr rolled forward just as dense warheads struck his previous position, roaring wrath igniting the corridor. As it neared Palr, he summoned surging airflow, propelling through and colliding with the burning flas.
