Chapter 1240: Until Next Ti

A few days after the mission at the Corrupted Volcano, Adam and Fromund left the Bastion Opard.

Since they were in no hurry, they used fighter jets, which were much less expensive than teleportation.

‘Hmm,’ Adam humd as the outlines of the Citadel appeared in the distance. ‘Co to think of it, besides Fromund, there’s also Katrin, Nessa, and Alexia. They were all very strong, at least they were my equal when we last encountered each other. I wonder what’s going on in their lives now?’

In fact, Adam was curious to know only one thing. Were they as strong as Fromund? He understood that statistically, only a small fraction of Phantoms reached his level, but none of them were ordinary Phantoms, especially Nessa.

But none of them were ordinary Phantoms to begin with. Not Adam, not Katrin, not Fromund, not anyone else Adam had encountered on his journey.

He had a list of formidable opponents he had to defeat to beco stronger and survive, but he had allies as well.

Adam knew only one of the strongest people in the Lower Ring — Wilfred. However, he knew nothing about the others and did not know what stage they were at.

True, the weapon was becoming more powerful, and technological progress was active, because in this matter, the World Wipe was not as big a problem as in other instances.

All the latest developnts and blueprints were stored in the Zero Day Vaults, both in the Citadel and in the centers of the Bastions, but that wasn’t enough.

Perhaps with the special equipnt created by Refesa, the military had a chance even against so of the Blue Threat Monsters, but her weapons used the energy of artifacts, it wasn’t pure technological power.

The whole problem was that the Blue Threat Monsters were nothing compared to the Lords.

If humanity didn’t have a single Second Rank Phantom, a single powerful Lord could destroy the entire Citadel. There was no doubt about that.
