Capítulo 1466: She Only Loses
After Adam and Silvana spent so ti playing the slot machines and had a few cocktails at the bar, they returned to the hall in search of new entertainnt.
As in any high-end casino, there were many gas where they could try their luck.
“So, maybe we should try craps? Or just buy a lottery ticket like old people?” Silvana suggested with a sly smile.
Adam scratched the back of his head, looking around.
He had a strange feeling. He wanted to try everything at once, but at the sa ti, he couldn’t choose just one thing. It was a common problem when there were too many choices.
“Maybe we should try blackjack? I’ve heard about it, the rules are pretty simple, and I think we’ll have a better chance of winning there, right?” Adam suggested.
Although he was prepared to lose all their chips because he didn’t believe it was possible to make money in a casino, he understood that sotis you could just get lucky. Moreover, so gas were riskier than others. In so cases, a person had control over the process, and in others, such as slot machines, he could only pull the lever over and over again, hoping for the best result.
“Blackjack?” Silvana touched her lips thoughtfully. “Yeah, I’ve always wanted to try it. But… where’s the right table?”
They moved forward in search of a place when an angry shout ca from the side:
“SHIT! Why am I always so unlucky!!!”
The shout was loud enough to make everyone nearby flinch.
Adam and Silvana were no exception. It shouldn’t have been a big deal, because at the casino, soone was always winning and losing. People could get pretty emotional, everyone understood that.
But… Sothing made Adam turn sharply toward the sound.
“Wait, was it just , or was that?” Adam was puzzled as he walked forward. Silvana followed him as she felt the sa way. That voice was familiar to her, but she couldn’t rember where and when she had last heard it.
After passing several rows of slot machines, they reached a hall with various gaming tables. In addition to blackjack, craps, poker, and other card gas, there were, of course, a great many roulette tables.
At one such table sat a girl with sharp blue hair, light freckles, and green eyes. Although her appearance might seem cute and even harmless to so, she now had a great frown on her face that would scare even a dangerous monster.
As if for contrast, behind her stood an impeccably dressed young man. His hair was also blue, but lighter and longer than the girl’s, his eyes were azure and deep, and his harmonious features made the hearts of the ladies nearby beat faster at the re sight of him.
However, none of these won had a chance of getting such a handso guy, because the girl who had just lost a large sum of money at roulette would never give him to anyone else.
Adam and Silvana exchanged glances. They couldn’t believe it, but the girl and the young man were actually Alexia and Louis.
The last ti they had t was a long ti ago, before Adam ended up in prison because of the incident at the fair, but from ti to ti, he heard about Alexia’s successes on the battlefield.
Louis was one of the best Operators of his level that Silvana knew, so sotis they helped each other out.
“Hah, this is definitely not what I expected to see here, but considering Alexia’s temper, I’m not surprised she ca here to lose.”
Silvana tilted her head.
“I guess we’ve decided on our next destination?”
Adam chuckled. “Of course. I do not doubt that she lost more than she won, I just want to know exactly how much she lost.”
Step. Step. Step.
While the croupier was preparing the roulette wheel for the next spin and the guests were getting ready to place their next bets, a girl and a young man approached the table.
No one paid any attention to them. They were just two of the many guests who had co to try their luck at roulette. At that mont, they had only one thing on their minds: should they bet on black or red?
“Well, well, it seems soone is still as wild as ever, isn’t she?” Adam grinned as he looked at Alexia.
At first, she didn’t even notice him, but soon a look of confusion appeared on her face as the voice seed familiar.
But before Alexia could react, Louis stepped forward and held out his hand.
“Oh, Adam, Silvana, what a surprise. We haven’t seen each other in a long ti, so eting you is a great stroke of luck, sothing Alexia is currently lacking.”
“Yeah, it really has been quite a while.” Adam nodded, returning the handshake.
Louis turned to Silvana and bowed slightly. He acted like a prince, while Alexia acted like a barbarian.
“I see that you and Adam have found your way, just like Alexia and . I’m glad to see that.”
Silvana shyly turned away.
“Yeah, it’s been a long journey, but we’ve done a lot of work, each of us.”
Alexia narrowed her eyes, staring intently at Adam.
Unlike Louis, who imdiately greeted them, she didn’t even get up from her seat, leaning on her elbow.
“Hmm… How the hell are you so strong?” She muttered, sensing his calm but powerful aura.
In response, Adam just smirked, as Alexia possessed an aura no less powerful than his.
“Hah, I have the sa question for you. How many battles did you go through to beco so strong?”
Alexia waved her hand.
“I’m glad to see you and all, but… I’m not in the mood. I haven’t been able to win for two hours!”
Louis, who was standing nearby, shook his head, disagreeing with her words.
“You had at least five opportunities to walk away with a pretty good win, but you kept playing, thinking you could double or even triple your current amount.”
Alexis puffed out her cheeks.
“I love to win! Is that a cri now?”
At the sa ti, Adam glanced at the croupier, who had already started taking bets.
“Well, maybe one of us four will get lucky, what do you say?”
