Adam and Zargos finally completed their deal. Zargos saved Adam from the attack of dangerous monsters, and in return received a portion of the Dark Energy.
In fact, the essence was not entirely in the Dark Energy, but in the fact that in Adam's case, this energy ca directly from the black flash, which ant it was connected to the First Star and its will.
A monster of Zargos's level would have no trouble finding the Twilight Crystals or even the Dark Energy in its pure form in abandoned temples deep underground, but none of that could help him beco stronger.
At the sa ti, Adam, or more precisely, his situation with the still undisclosed black flash, was simply a gift for Zargos.
Thus, the best decision for Zargos would be to try with all his might to win Adam's trust and make him an ally.
When their hands clasped in a firm handshake, it beca clear that Zargos had done everything right.
Step.
rra gulped, feeling the terrifying pressure emanating from Zargos's raging aura. She was also a Lord, but they were on different levels. If she had been closer, this force would have broken all her bones before she even realized it.
Adam remained unhard only because he was part of the process.
Most of the Dark Energy had left his inner space, and only a tiny fraction, many tis smaller than a drop, remained spinning around the white orb.
Sure, soon, the Dark Energy, like any other type of energy, would recover. Zargos had not lied when he told Adam that there would be no lasting negative consequences for him.
"Gha..."
Only after a few seconds did Zargos exhale hot steam as his aura finally stopped growing.
Adam gulped, watching the crimson fla covering everything around him. If he were a novice, he would have thought that this was Zargos's ability and that the fire was real, but it was just his aura.
"Damn, I feel great!"
Zargos exclaid with a wide sweep of his arm.
"Hell yeah! Now, I'll definitely be able to see the shock on Keranda's face! Hahaha, I can't wait for that mont!"
In any other situation, Zargos would have continued joking and bragging about his new power, but not this ti.
Suddenly, his expression beca serious as he turned to rra.
"rra, the energy release was even more powerful than we anticipated. It couldn't have gone unnoticed."
She nodded. "I'm ready to take your orders."
"Great. Take Adam and go with him to the basent. Most likely, soone from Morok's team will realize you're there, but it's the best place for you to fight. Just hold out for a few minutes, and I'll co to your aid after I deal with the others."
"Yes! I'll do my best!" rra ran up to Adam and helped him up.
Even though Adam had gained new strength as well, he was weakened after his fight and after giving the Dark Energy to Zargos. He limped as rra helped him walk forward.
Before they could leave the mansion walls, Adam turned around and looked at Zargos.
"Hey. If even after everything that's happened, you can't surpass your sister, I'll be disappointed."
In response, Zargos grinned widely.
"Hmm? Is that the only thing that concerns you at a ti like this? Well, don't worry. I'm already stronger than her, there's no doubt about that."
Adam nodded as he turned away.
He watched their backs until they disappeared into the shadows, before turning toward the jungle that surrounded his house on all sides.
"Damn, even so, it's Morok and not soone else. If it were Liliane and those weaklings against , I could handle them with one hand, almost as easily as Goen did, but... my ti is limited. rra won't be able to hold out alone for long."
Zargos shook his head, dismissing these thoughts.
All he could do was wait for them to attack and change position. He didn't want his house to beco a pile of ashes because of his own fault.
...
Crack. Crack. Crack.
At the sa ti, the earthworm, Ramilo, and Alexia continued on their way. They were on their way to the Citadel and would be ho in a few hours.
They were already quite far from the Primal Lands, still...
Twitch. Twitch. Twitch.
Ramilo's keen ear twitched. It couldn't go unnoticed by Alexia.
"Agh? What was that?" She raised an eyebrow. "Did you sense sothing? Is it related to Adam? Answer ! You sneaky, fat cat!"
"Hahaha," Ramilo chuckled bitterly. "Alexia, how can I answer your questions when you ask three at once?"
He nodded.
"Yeah, you're right. It has to do with Adam. They and Zargos are facing another battle."
"Hmm? Will they win?"
That was all she cared about. She knew better than anyone that victory was a guarantee of survival.
"Sure. But..." His tone deepened. "It won't be as easy as with Goen. Zargos is weaker, like , and his opponents are stronger than Liliane and her already dead fifth team."
"Wait!" Alexia shouted. "That ans we have to stop and help them! Right now! You're strong, you tore off that bastard's arm faster than I could blink!"
Ramilo proudly stroked his whiskers.
"It's always nice to hear praise directed at , but I assure you, you have nothing to worry about. Zargos may act like a jester 99% of the ti, but that 1%... Damn, even I wouldn't want to face it."
Alexia slamd her palms on the surface.
"No! Help him! Please!"
Ramilo made a serious mistake. He believed that Alexia would hear his argunts and listen to his words.
Right now, all she cared about was her emotions and her desire to help Adam.
'It's comndable that she cares about her friend, but I'm too old to listen to a woman yell at for the next few hours.'
Tap.
In a swift shadow, Ramilo slapped his palm against Alexia's neck as her eyes went blank.
He nodded deeply.
"Yeah, I definitely prefer silence."
