"Is it over already?" Adam asked, sitting atop one of the tallest trees.
From here, he and rra could see most of the fight. He was impressed by how quickly Keranda had dealt with the muscular man and woman.
'She is not a person, but a killing machine. Shit, even at slaughterhouses, animals are treated better than what she did to those two. Although...' He rembered how Goen fought. 'That's the next level of brutality, but it doesn't seem like it's anything unique to her.'
rra nodded.
"Even if it had been a 5 vs. 2 fight, as it was supposed to be originally, Kerand and Zargos would have won, especially after Zargos evolved."
She smiled.
"Thank you, thanks to your Dark Energy, sir, beca stronger. I know it wasn't easy, so I am grateful to you."
"Hah, don't be. Zargos saved not only , but also my friend, she... she would definitely have gotten into trouble. You could say I repaid him for that. Moreover, after what he told , I would have tried to get the Dark Energy anyway."
He glanced at rra with curiosity. He could see that her eyes were shining brightly. She was happy to see that Zargos had progressed more than anything else.
"It seems that Zargos is very important to you?"
rra nodded.
"Yes. Unlike other monsters of his level, he doesn't try to show how important he is, how serious or majestic he is. Most of the ti, he acts like a fool, and serving soone like him is actually a refreshing experience."
Adam didn't ask how she ended up in her position. Over ti, he began to understand that many monsters, like humans, had subordinates and servants. It all depended on their status and lifestyle.
Soone like Goen would easily find followers who would be willing to do anything for him, but he preferred to live alone and not even always with his Operator.
"I see. Then let's see how this ends, and I need to go ho. The Primal Lands... Hah, I liked this place much more than I expected, but it's too much for , yet."
rra smiled brightly. "Ughum. Soon they will defeat him, and we will help you return!"
Step.
Keranda stepped forward, her gaze piercing Morok.
"You two... One day, you will regret this. The Befallen Crown will unleash its wrath upon you!"
He brought his hand behind his back as the dark emblem appeared in his grasp. The sign of a bone arm tearing through the sky was depicted on it. Only by its aura could it be understood that it was a seal of soone important and powerful.
It was an artifact that was difficult to obtain even for a monster of Morok's rank.
Keranda's eyes widened, the first emotion on her face in a long ti.
"You bastard!"
Morok grinned as he turned and threw the emblem forward.
A single energy pulse was enough to activate it.
Dark electrical discharges ran along the edges, as cracks crisscrossed the space like a broken mirror.
Crack! Crack! Crack!
Four giant bone arms burst out, opening a rift. The world and energy of the Primal Lands tried to close the breach, but the power of this artifact surpassed the will of these two essences, albeit for a very short period of ti.
Even if it was only a few seconds, it would be more than enough for Morok to escape the battlefield and return to the Befallen Crown.
No matter how strong Keranda and Zargos were, there were a small number of monsters in this world whose power they were no match for.
"Shit!" Keranda's eyes widened.
She had to act quickly.
"You're not getting away, you bastard!"
The space trembled when the purple whip appeared in her hand, attached to the serpent bracelet on her wrist.
Like Morok, she had several powerful artifacts as well.
Morok grinned as he stepped into the rift. He ran toward the darkness, turning back to them with a smirk.
"It's too late, bitch!"
At Keranda's throw, the purple whip turned into a ferocious dragon head, full of roaring energy.
In a normal situation, it would have grabbed Morok and immobilized him. In the next mont, Keranda's fist would have slamd into his face.
But there was no fear in Morok's eyes. He knew he was safe now.
Crack. Crack. Crack.
The bone arms trembled as several axes appeared from the darkness. Like a guillotine at an execution, they fell on the purple dragon, cutting it into pieces.
Shock reflected on Keranda's face as she looked at the energy particles—the only thing left of her artifact.
"Hahaha! What? Was your artifact nothing compared to mine? You should know your place, beast from the clan!"
The bone arms trembled once more as the dark rift began to slowly close.
Keranda wanted to rush forward and grab Morok, but she knew it was too dangerous.
Well, she was lucky that soone more reckless than she was here.
Tap. Tap. Tap.
Zargos began jumping in place as all his energy turned into a thin layer covering his body.
"Wait!" Keranda exclaid when she realized what her younger brother was about to do. "Don't you dare do that! That darkness won't let you go!"
"Don't worry." He smiled weakly. "Since we last t, I've beco much stronger, and... a dear guest gave the idea for a trick. Just watch!"
Before Keranda could say anything else, Zargos's fra shimred as he vanished.
"Agh?" Morok was confused. He couldn't believe it was real.
At a speed far exceeding that of sound, Zargos shot forward in a straight line like a fiery flash.
Without fear, he entered the rift as the bone arms reached out to stop him, but he was faster. In the end, he put all his strength into that one dash.
Keranda was right. Now that Zargos was here, the only outco was that the rift would open and he and Morok would find themselves right in the enemy's lair.
It was a good thing he had another plan.
"Now, Adam," he grinned, looking at the frightened Morok. "Let's see what the Dark Energy is capable of!"
