Chapter 1874: The Restored Artifact and Broken Pillar

Adam was preparing to destroy the ice pillar, which was a key requirement for restoring Vador’s artifact.

Meanwhile, Amelia, Nukra, and Romara watched from the sidelines, hoping for good news.

Well, at first it was just Nukra and Romara, but soon Amelia joined them.

“He… He didn’t do anything in my inner space…” Amelia muttered, confused.

She understood that the consequences for her would be serious, but she was prepared for them. She expected to experience intense pain and severe damage parable to a critical wound.

After all, even if Adam had done everything correctly and as carefully as possible, he would still have taken a part of Amelia’s artifact. Given that she was a member of the noble family, for her, this was the same as losing a part of the Evolution Tree. No, perhaps in her case it was even worse.

“Hmm?” Nukra raised an eyebrow. “What do you mean?”

Amelia pressed her palm to her chest.

“I felt like he was in my inner space, but… when he left, nothing changed. Did something happen to my artifact?” Amelia asked anxiously.

Strangely enough, it was Romara who supported Adam.

“No, I think it’s a good sign.”

“Agh?” Amelia turned to her.

Romara looked at Adam, whose aura was growing stronger and stronger with every passing second.

“Something important is happening inside Vador’s inner space. I can feel it. We all can. At first, I didn’t really like this young man, but I have to admit he keeps his word. I do not doubt that, and neither do you.”

Amelia looked at Vador, her gaze growing heavy.

“Do you think Adam has found another way to help his father?”

Romara nodded deeply. “Most likely, that’s exactly what’s happening.”

“But how? I’ve spent a long time considering all the possible options. I couldn’t e up with anything better than my risky plan.”

“Who knows?” Romara narrowed her eyes, staring intently at Adam. “Maybe his abilities turned out to be more useful than you initially thought. There’s only one way to find out for sure.”

Nukra wanted to say something, but at that moment, Adam’s aura suddenly grew stronger.

TREMBLE! TREMBLE! TREMBLE!

The pillar of energy burst forth from Adam as black and white currents alternated in a trembling surge of power.

Nukra’s eyes widened as an excited smile spread across her face.

“Huh, now that’s what I call an aura! What on earth is going on there? I really want to find out!”

Unfortunately for Nukra, she couldn’t see it, but she certainly wouldn’t have been disappointed.

Adam’s aura, and all the power gathered for a single attack, was powerful enough to shake the artifact space.

The thick layer of snow covering the ground trembled violently in waves radiating from Adam, who now stood on the bare, icy surface of the frozen lake.

“Alright, I’ve never done this before, but this will be a great way to find out what I’m really capable of!” Adam’s eyes sparkled as he smiled with excitement.

At the Gray Sea, many fierce battles awaited him. He was certain of this, so he had to understand the limits of his power.

“Hah… This is definitely going to be a powerful attack, but I can already feel that it’s draining too much of my strength. I’m literally using up almost everything I have on a single move.”

Soon, only streams of darkness emanated from Adam’s left and right as a translucent gray veil covered his entire body. The purple and dark energy shimmered on the needle blades, and Adam’s eyes shone brightly.

Even if he wanted to, he couldn’t make this attack any stronger.

“Gha…”

Adam exhaled a cloud of cold vapor as he took a step forward.

Unlike the white path, which allowed him to reach his final destination, the dark path had a different goal – to destroy everything in its path.

In this case, it was the ice pillar, the only thing that had saved Vador from death. Ironically, it was this very protective crystal that was now killing him, preventing the core fragments from joining together.

Whooooooosh!

In the blink of an eye, Adam raced across the frozen lake, leaving a trail of shattered ice behind him. The thick layer of ice extending deep beneath the surface couldn’t withstand the pressure of his dash.

As Adam moved, new cracks ran across the lake’s surface as ice shards flew off to the sides, whizzing past his focused eyes.

“I can do this. There’s no barrier I can’t break. It doesn’t matter what it is: a wall, a shield, or an ice crystal!”

In the next moment, the needle tip slammed into the ice pillar, turning it into shards that shot off in all directions in a powerful burst.

Due to the shocking strength of the ice pillar, Adam couldn’t destroy it with a single strike. Instead, his needle acted as a drill while his powers fueled it.

As long as he could maintain his dark path, his needle would chip away at the ice pillar bit by bit, until it reached its breaking point.

Trickle.

A trickle of blood flowed from Adam’s nose, but he had no intention of stopping as his grip on his needle only tightened.

“e on! Just a little more!” Adam clenched his teeth and took a step forward, applying extra pressure.

Crack!

Suddenly, a crack ran down his needle as his eyes widened.

A deafening blast rang out as the needle snapped, sending up a cloud of frosty vapor.

Gusts of wind swept aside as Adam’s shadow was momentarily obscured.

Gradually, the cloud of vapor dissipated, revealing Adam’s dazed expression. He stared at the ice pillar, waiting for the results.

Crack. Crack. Crack.

A tiny crack appeared in the center of the hollow as it spread outward, running along the entire length of the ice pillar.

Slowly, the corners of Adam’s mouth turned upward into a satisfied smirk as the top of the pillar collapsed to the ground, freeing the man trapped inside.

“Huh, so the first use of my most powerful path turned out to be a success, right?”

Adam was glad he’d succeeded, as this was another step forward.

Now, all that remained was to take the final step – to make sure everything was in order. After that, the Gray Sea awaited him.
