Endless Extraction in a Game-Like World Chapter 200: Channeling the Elusive Origin Power, Merging mo
While Mia and Lyra continued their conversation, Sylvia and Caelus headed down to the training room. Caelus had a clear goal in mind. He wanted to completely remove the cooldown of his chaos dragon body once and for all. To achieve that, he would have to utilize his Origin potential.
Previously, he believed the cooldown restriction was strictly tied to his aura, but tapping into Origin proved to be far more effective. Once he made his chaos dragon body permanent, his powers should theoretically be able to cross into the Crown Rank. That was exactly the level of strength he needed right now.
He imdiately sat down, closing his eyes to search deep within for the power that had allowed him to awaken as the Ender of Origin.
Sylvia quickly grew bored watching him ditate. When Mia and Lyra eventually joined them in the training room, Sylvia decided to spar with them. In reality, Sylvia used this as a perfect excuse to thoroughly beat up Mia. Lyra just shook her head from the sidelines and swiftly healed Mia back to full health with her angelic magic, only for Mia to imdiately get pumled by Sylvia all over again. Throughout the one-sided beating, Mia looked at Sylvia with her usual innocent and indifferent expression. It was as if she was completely unaware that Sylvia was taking out her frustrations on her.
While the girls were fighting, Caelus remained intensely focused. The current cooldown for his chaos dragon body stood at six days. It used to be seven, but his continuous aura training had shaved off an entire day, allowing him to maintain the form for exactly five minutes. However, aura alone was clearly not enough. To make the transformation permanent, he needed to add another elent into the equation. That elent was rigorous training, utilizing not just his aura but also his unique powers as an Ender. The chaos dragon body was his ultimate trump card, with the half dragon body serving as his secondary resort.
Finding that specific power, however, was much easier said than done. The Origin power within him was entirely elusive. It felt like it was actively avoiding him like a plague.
"Does it think I am unworthy?" Caelus muttered, his lips twitching in annoyance.
He opened his eyes and looked across the room. "Hey, Lyra. I am going to use my powers on you for a bit. Is that fine?"
"Sure," Lyra nodded, halting her healing duties for a mont.
"Can you use so of your holy powers or sothing similar?" Caelus asked.
Lyra nodded again. She activated her angelic wings, bathing the room in a soft glow, and summoned a brilliant spear of light into her hands.
Caelus imdiately targeted her with his Origin Sever skill. He raised his hand, using his index finger and thumb to lock onto Lyra’s figure, and snapped his fingers together. The distinct sound of scissors tearing sharply through heavy paper rang out in the air as a system notification appeared before his eyes.
[You took away Lyra’s holy transformation.]
[Ding! The being is stronger than you. They will get back their powers in 1 second.]
She received her holy powers back at the exact sa speed she had lost them. Lyra widened her eyes in realization. She understood just how massive an Ender’s power truly was. Feeling her transmotive state forcefully leave her body, even for a single second, made the absolute authority of his abilities perfectly clear to her.
Caelus, however, was not focusing on Lyra’s reaction. He knew that Chaos Axiom Energy alone was not enough to fuel his Origin Sever, which cost him 15 CA per use. The skill was fundantally tied to his Origin power. And right now, by forcing the skill to activate, that elusive power had undoubtedly stirred awake within him.
Caelus quickly channeled this stirred power, focusing on it with everything he had. Imdiately, a crushing pressure ford heavily over his entire body. The Origin power was violently rejecting his control!
Caelus was not going to simply give up. If he wanted to wield the Origin’s power for himself, he had to force himself to be stronger. He gritted his teeth as cold sweat began pouring down his face. He used every ounce of strength he possessed to channel the Origin energy that had erupted from his use of Origin Sever. His goal was to physically push that volatile energy straight into the core where his chaos dragon body generated its draconic energy.
"Caelus," Sylvia called out, dropping her sparring stance imdiately upon seeing him in such intense pain.
He did not reply. He was far too busy trying to suppress the monstrous Origin energy thrashing inside him.
Caelus continuously pumped his Chaos Axiom Energy, relentlessly pushing the Origin into his draconic core. The instant the two forces collided, a muffled, massive explosion resounded from deep within his body. The dragon energy frantically began to react to the new stimulus, and a fresh wave of notifications began appearing before his eyes.
[Ding! You and Your Aspect: Chaos Dragon Body are rging.]
[Cooldown: 6 days -> 5 days]
[Usage ti: 5 minutes -> 10 minutes]
However, as soon as the successful rge occurred, the remaining Origin power began turning illusory, slipping away from his grasp once more. Seeing this window of opportunity closing, Caelus snapped his head up to look at Lyra. Both she and Sylvia were staring at him in visible shock.
His eyes were now glowing with a piercing light. Two small, black, circuit-like horns had materialized on his head, pulsing rhythmically with dark energy. Strange, glowing patterns rapidly erged across his skin.
"I am using Origin Sever once again, Lyra!" he shouted.
She swiftly nodded, bracing herself.
Caelus fired off another Origin Sever. Once the Origin power stirred awake again, he realized it was much more feeble this ti around. Seeing this, Caelus made a risky decision. He ignited his aura alongside it.
Imdiately, the crushing pressure bearing down over his body increased several folds.
Caelus tried desperately to hold it in, but the sheer agony was too much. He could not help but scream out in pain as his Origin power and aura violently mixed, rushing like a tidal wave into his dragon energy all at once. His physical figure began to violently shift. For a split second, his body distorted, turning into the massive, terrifying shadow of a dragon as pure golden power oozed from his pores.
Sylvia grew even more frantic with concern upon seeing his monstrous transformation. However, she forced herself to stay planted. She did not rush forward to stop him. She knew Caelus must have a concrete plan in mind for pushing himself this far.
[Ding! You and Your Aspect: Chaos Dragon Body are rging.]
[Cooldown: 5 days -> 4.5 days]
[Usage ti: 10 minutes -> 12 minutes]
Once that final notification rang in his head, his mind began to buzz with overwhelming exhaustion. He collapsed heavily to the floor, his draconic features glitching in and out of reality like a broken projection.
"Caelus!" Sylvia exclaid, imdiately rushing forward and holding his exhausted body in her arms with deep worry.
"I am fine. Hahaha," Caelus chuckled weakly, coughing softly. "I think I might have found the actual trick to making this form permanent."
Just as the tension settled, their Dungeon Master Simulator results arrived with a soft chi. They had both achieved a Mythical rating, and their personal dungeon had officially reached Gold I. This ant they could finally place down more structures, and to top it off, they were rewarded with five gacha pulls each.
"Not a bad haul at all," Caelus said. He glanced up at his beautiful girlfriend, then back at the glowing system screen, a satisfied smile spreading across his face.
Strangely, he actually felt completely refreshed rather than being in pain from the extre training. Perhaps it was because Sylvia was currently holding onto him tightly, planting soft kisses on his forehead, all while Mia and Lyra stood nearby, watching the intimate display in total speechlessness.
Just then, Lyra’s expression shifted into a deep frown.
