Endless Extraction in a Game-Like World Chapter 46: The True Vampire Progenitor! Discovering an SS-R
"Sylvia." Caelus’s lips twitched when he saw her sitting directly on top of him.
"Caelus... where were you?" Sylvia’s voice rang softly in his ears. It was entirely devoid of emotion as she leaned closer and whispered into his mind.
"Albert told that you urgently went to Golden Eagle City. But even after an entire day, I could not find you. I looked everywhere. I searched with the police. I searched the streets. But you were nowhere to be found."
"You could have at least contacted once," Sylvia said, her hands gently caressing his neck as a smile ford on her face.
"I was just about to lose it. The powers are wreaking havoc inside again." Her blood-red eyes glowed dangerously in the dim room. "It has been an entire day without your blood, Caelus."
In the following second, Caelus felt soft lips press against his skin, followed by the sharp, familiar pinch of fangs biting into his neck.
Sylvia’s body was pressed tightly against his own. Her legs interlocked around his waist, completely preventing him from pushing her off.
At the sa ti, Caelus felt sothing highly strange.
He had not noticed it before, but his newly awakened draconic senses picked it up clearly now. She was growing rapidly stronger with every single drop of his blood she consud. His golden eyes flashed briefly, and he imdiately saw the truth. Sylvia’s Combat Score was violently fluctuating in his system panel.
[Combat Score: 40.15 -> 43.15 -> 45.16 -> 46.10 -> 47.50]
Caelus was totally dumbfounded.
A chilling realization hit him. Before, she was simply too powerful for him to properly assess. But now the chanics were perfectly clear. Sylvia’s Combat Score actively increased just by drinking his blood!
But he was also deeply confused. Was his blood really that potent? He did not think so. If vampires could grow this fast simply by drinking blood, they would already be dominating the entire world.
That was when his gaze fell upon Sylvia’s Talent tab.
[Talent: True Vampire Progenitor (Lower SS-Rank)]
Amidst the quiet sound of Sylvia gulping, Caelus stared at the floating panel in sheer disbelief.
SS-Rank?!
She actually possessed an SS-Rank talent? He almost could not believe his own eyes. As far as the public was concerned, there was absolutely no one in this world with an SS-Rank talent. The highest ever officially recorded was an Upper S-Rank talent from the Central Plains of the Azure Origin Planet.
Eventually, Sylvia lifted her head. A deeply rejuvenated smile ford on her flawless face.
"Your blood is always so delicious," Sylvia giggled softly. She gently massaged the exact area she had just bitten. No matter how aggressively she took his blood, she never forgot to soothe the wound afterward. She clearly did not want to leave him in lasting pain.
"Now, can you get off ?" Caelus asked with a completely speechless look.
Day by day, this crazy vampire was getting far too comfortable around him. Before, it was just getting jumped near the dorm door. Now, she was daring enough to directly pin him down in his own bed. He could not even begin to imagine what she would try in the coming days.
Sylvia giggled softly and slid down his legs, allowing him to sit up straight. But just as quickly, she pounced right back into his lap.
"You..." Caelus was utterly stupefied.
"Caelus. Do you know how hard I looked for you?" Sylvia stared deeply into his eyes. "I searched everywhere in Golden Eagle City and yet could not find a single trace of you. In the end, I had no choice but to enter the Domain, grind my levels, and log out an hour early just to catch you."
She smiled brightly at him with her eyes closed. "What were you doing in Golden Eagle City? Were you there to have fun?"
"Were you playing around with other won while leaving your partner all alone?" The instant she opened her eyes, they were completely devoid of emotion, glowing a piercing blood-red in the dark room.
"What is it to you if I was playing around with other won or not?" Caelus raised a challenging eyebrow.
"I will kill them," Sylvia stated, a highly agitated look taking over her features. "If another woman dares to lay a hand on you... I will brutally kill them."
Caelus’s expression imdiately shifted into pure shock.
The instant Sylvia saw his stunned face, she burst out laughing.
"Hahaha! Do you see your own expression, partner? I was just joking!" Her beautiful, lodic laugh echoed throughout the small dorm room. She looked like she was having the absolute ti of her life.
"Is that really sothing you should joke about, Miss Sylvia?" Caelus could not help but ask.
He already suspected this girl was completely crazy, but today fully confird it. He was at least thirty percent certain she would actually do exactly what she just said.
Vampires were terrifying. And the specific one sitting happily on his lap was a True Vampire Progenitor. aning, she held the exact sa supre talent as the very creator of the vampire race. She was practically their god!
Just then, the dorm door clicked open. Albert’s bulky figure slowly stepped inside, only to instantly freeze. He took one look at the compromising position on the bed, spun around in a flawless U-turn, and walked right back out into the hallway.
"Damn... Miss Sylvia has so serious stamina," Albert muttered to himself.
He had woken up earlier and seen the red-eyed girl sitting quietly by Caelus’s bed. It had given him quite the jump scare. Sylvia had politely asked him to leave the room for a while, and he had listened to a T. It seed they were still not done with their private business! Deciding to value his own life, Albert figured he should probably go buy another coffee from the local store nearby.
—
Sylvia and Caelus stared blankly at the closed door for a second before turning back to look at each other.
"Do not call Miss Sylvia. Just call Sylvie. That is what I like," she said softly, seamlessly returning to their previous conversation.
"I will think about it," Caelus replied, completely speechless.
This girl really gave him a massive headache. It reached the point where he honestly wondered what their actual relationship even was.
"What am I to you?" he could not help but ask directly. "What exactly are we?"
Hearing this, Sylvia smiled softly. "What do you want us to be?"
"..." Caelus fell entirely silent.
Then, Sylvia answered her own question. "We are partners for life." She giggled softly, staring deeply into his eyes. "I do not know about you. But as a vampire, I cannot live without you."
"Anyways," Sylvia suddenly shifted the subject. "We are going to clear so dungeons today. You will co with ."
"What? Why?" Caelus tilted his head.
"We are going to level up, of course," Sylvia replied cheerfully. "Everyone in the Special Class is going dungeon hunting today. The Red Bird Guild officially sponsored two of our top students yesterday. As a reward, they allowed the entire Special Class to use their private guild dungeons for leveling and combat experience. One of the students asked to bring a friend from Class 1, so the instructors allowed everyone to bring a plus-one. I am taking you with ."
"Oh," Caelus nodded in understanding.
He actually really wanted to go hunt in the real-world dungeons. He desperately needed to clear the mandatory quest given by Allstar to get his hands on the Chaos Race Awakening Stone. This was the perfect, free opportunity to do so without drawing suspicion.
"And it seems like you had a Mysterious Pool encounter recently," Sylvia blinked, her eyes scanning his face.
Without a doubt, Caelus had beco vastly more handso than before. The heavy gloominess that used to surround him was completely gone.
"Yep," Caelus nodded silently, playing along with the cover story Albert had told her which he told him about. "It was just a small boost in Combat Score and a sudden change in appearance."
"Hm," Sylvia nodded thoughtfully. "It is widely said that a Mysterious Pool draws out the true appearance of your inner soul. That ans you were originally ant to possess white hair." She giggled playfully. "Now we have matching hair colors."
Caelus just smiled awkwardly at her reasoning.
Soon after, Sylvia finally left the room to get ready for the Dungeon gates. But this ti, she made absolutely sure to exchange phone numbers with him before stepping out the door.
As Caelus was looking through his newly added contact, a new ssage popped up on his screen. It was from Riya, his classmate.
[Riya: Hey, Caelus. Teacher Aron was looking for you earlier. I believe it is best if you went and t with him today.]
