"...Everything?" Nero asked softly.
Alex subconsciously swallowed as the Vampire Lord’s question hung in the air.
He didn’t dare to move.
He didn’t even dare to breathe too loudly.
Because right now... he was absolutely certain that if he muttered even a slightly displeasing answer, those would be the last words he would speak in this lifeti.
"Father," Evangeline said, tightening her hold on Alex’s arm. "You’re scaring him."
"I am rely asking a question." Nero shrugged. "A very simple one."
Simple?
Alex almost wanted to laugh.
There was nothing simple about a question that could determine whether he would live to see the next sunrise.
"So, what my daughter said earlier... Is it all true?" Nero asked, his tone calm. However, his gaze was anything but calm. "You already did everything with my daughter?"
In that brief mont, Alex wished he could drink Chuck’s conqueror potion.
Perhaps the confident version of himself could weasel his way out of this ss. As for the current him, he couldn’t think of a proper answer that his future father-in-law would find acceptable.
In the end, Alex heaved a long and deep internal sigh before eting Nero’s gaze.
"Yes, we did everything except crossing that final line," Alex replied honestly. "I love Eva, and she loves . But out of respect for her, as well as you, Sir, I decided that we should wait a little more before we finally consummate our feelings for each other."
"Oh?" Nero arched an eyebrow. "Is it not because you’re too busy chasing the skirts of other won, complacent because Eva is already loyal to you? Since you’re sure she won’t leave you and you’ve already done everything with her, are you finally bored of her?"
"No way that will happen," Alex replied before he could even think his answer properly. "Eva is very special to . How can I possibly get bored of her?"
"Is that so?" Nero sneered. "A little bird told that aside from my daughter, you have eight other lovers."
That little bird was, of course, Eleanora, who regularly sent reports about Evangeline’s well-being in the academy, as well as Alex’s philandering ways.
The vampire girl didn’t hold back, ntioning to him that Alex had eight other lovers. She added Latifa, Lotte, Lumi, and Lulu on the list alongside Lavinia, Frann, and Vann!
When Nero listed these nas out loud, Alex’s vision almost dimd. However, he couldn’t really say that Lotte, Lumi, and Lulu were part of Latifa since they were separate entities.
The Alters had their own thoughts, so even if Latifa liked him, that didn’t an they would also like him.
This was why in order to get Latifa’s happy ending in the ga, the protagonist must first have a good relationship with all of her Alters!
Of course, Alex wanted to have a good relationship with Latifa’s Alters. However, he didn’t really make any move to actively pursue them.
Besides, aside from Lumi, who had spent so ti with him during his journeys, he didn’t have any opportunity to get closer to Lotte and Lulu in a romantic way.
However, Lotte seed to have spied on Lumi while she was together with him, and had gotten to know him better through her.
As for Lulu, ever since she appeared, she had already been touchy with Alex. Maybe Latifa’s current state had influenced Lulu, so she was treating Alex like a lover that the mature version of Latifa liked to tease very much.
"Well, am I wrong?" Nero asked. "Alongside my daughter, you already have eight lovers?"
"Um... not eight. Maybe seven? One of them is actually a boy, so he doesn’t count."
"Oh my. It seems your strike range is very diverse. Even young gentlen are not safe from you, hmmm?"
"Uh... like I said. He is a guy, so we are only very close friends. We are not in a relationship with each other." Alex insisted.
"I see. So, seven then? Does that an you don’t plan to increase it in the future?" Nero arched an eyebrow.
"..."
"You little piece of sh*t."
Nero clicked his tongue when Alex didn’t answer. That only ant one thing. The number of won would still increase, which made him want to snap the young man’s neck quite badly.
"Father, please stop." Evangeline raised her voice a bit, which caught Nero by surprise.
"You’re entering another rebellious phase, Eva," Nero stated. "But I do understand that you like this piece of sh*t very much. So, how about we compromise?"
"What compromise?" Evangeline asked.
"I’ll seal off his mories again," Nero replied. "Although there might be side effects because the seal on his mories when he was still young is present, I’m sure he won’t turn into a slobbering vegetable if I put another seal.
"I’ll erase the mories of his lovers right now, and only leave his mories of you behind. You can take him back to our domain, and you can keep him there for life. I won’t say anything else, and even give you my blessing to marry him. So, what do you say? Do we have a deal?"
"I refuse," Evangeline replied without hesitation. "I will not let you seal Alex’s mory a second ti."
"I’m sorry, Eva." Nero sneered. "I’m not really asking for your permission. I’m just informing you of what I plan to do."
Nero raised his hand, which put a powerful pressure on not only Alex, but to Evangeline as well, preventing her from moving.
"Now hold still." Nero smirked. "I’ll do my best to not make it hurt too much this ti around."
The Vampire Lord stood up and reached out to touch Alex’s head. But before he could do that, sothing white collided with his hand, swatting it away.
"Dim Dim!"
Dim Dim shouted as it landed on Alex’s head, glaring at the Vampire Lord fearlessly.
Nero frowned and looked at the back of his hand, which had a small red bruise on it.
He was now a Rank 8 Vampire Lord. His body was extrely sturdy, and very few people could actually hurt him.
But now, he could feel a stinging pain on the back of his hand, which had been hit by the little white bun that was glaring at him.
"Interesting."
The corner of Nero’s lips curled up. He had already moved to grab the little white creature on top of Alex’s head, but he sensed a presence that made him stop in his tracks.
"Nero. Do you really want to make your enemy?"
Alex’s guardian, Luthor, walked calmly until he stood between the Vampire Lord and the teenagers.
A faint smile hung on his lips as if he was daring for Nero to make his move.
The Vampire Lord frowned because the last person that he wanted to cross was Luthor.
The old Knight had fought off against a Paragon and had even managed to kill them off being a tank lower.
He was a legend among the non-Paragon powerhouses of the world. With that said, his strength needed no introductions.
Even so, Nero wasn’t soone who would allow himself to get intimidated by anyone. However, for the sake of his daughter, he decided to take a step back just this once.
"Take that brat, and get out of my sight," Nero said coldly. "Evangeline. You stay here. We have a lot of things to talk about."
Luthor nodded before patting Alex’s shoulder. "Let’s go. Let this doting father have a talk with his daughter."
Alex nodded before glancing at Evangeline.
The young lady smiled before fearlessly kissing Alex’s cheek right in front of her father, which made the latter’s frown deepen.
Luthor smiled faintly before grabbing hold of Alex’s hand.
A mont later, they disappeared, including Dim Dim, leaving only the Vampire Lord and her daughter to have a private talk with each other.
