The mont Jiang Qingli stepped out of the car, two groups sward her.

On the left were three mbers of the lt Star Association, led by Qiao Lan.

On the right were several senior mbers of the Student Union, led by Ke An.

Both sides stared intently at Jiang Qingli, their approach aggressive and determined.

Not far away, Yuan Shiyao stood by a car, seemingly casting a casual glance in their direction.

But his gaze was restrained yet ticulous, scanning every inch of her skin before finally settling on her lips.

The girl was turning to tell Yi Nuo to head back first, not noticing the male’s blatant stare.

Gu Nian, however, took a step forward as he turned to speak with Jiang Qingli, discreetly blocking the young man’s prying eyes.

After the car left, Ke An was the first to step forward.

Ke An brushed back her red hair and greeted Jiang Qingli. "Good morning, Qingli. I drank too much last night and forgot to say goodbye... Are you not much of a drinker?"

Jiang Qingli nodded, her smile polite. "Thanks for your concern. I’m fine."

Her reply wasn’t cold, but it wasn’t exactly familiar either.

Ke An smiled. "We have a eting soon. I wanted to introduce you to them last night, but we didn’t get the chance. Let’s have you et them now. We can all be friends from now on."

’Quite the grand display.’

But Ke An’s actions were understandable.

The Student Union had three vice presidents: Ke An, Bai Yiyi, and an S Level female Beastman. With the current president about to step down, the three factions, though seemingly harmonious, were actually in fierce competition, each vying for an advantage.

Ke An introduced a few senior mbers, all of whom were her supporters. They nodded and shook hands with Jiang Qingli one by one.

Yuan Shiyao had walked over at so point and blended into the crowd, becoming the last to shake her hand.

In his platinum-white uniform, the young man’s figure was tall and straight, his posture dignified.

He still carried the air of an unattainable flower on a high peak.

But when their eyes t, his, so much like his twin brother’s, surged with an intense heat.

When they shook hands, Yuan Shiyao held on for a few extra seconds, the pad of his thumb slowly stroking across the girl’s delicate palm.

It was like the tip of a cat’s tail brushing against her skin, leaving a faint, ticklish sensation.

Jiang Qingli found it a little strange, but seeing his perfectly serious expression, she didn’t dwell on the minor detail.

’Maybe it’s just because we’re friends, so he’s being a bit more familiar.’

Gu Nian lifted his eyes, his gaze cold as he stared at Yuan Shiyao, who stood opposite them. His expression was grim, laced with a silent warning.

Yuan Shiyao acted as if he hadn’t seen a thing, not even sparing him a glance.

Before leaving, Ke An raised her hand. "See you in the conference room!"

Jiang Qingli gave her a high-five.

Seeing this familiar display, the few mbers of the lt Star Association standing nearby all sneered.

’As if they’re so close.’

These Student Union people were just like everyone else. They used to look down on Jiang Qingli, only trying to recruit her now to oppose the lt Star Association.

And their recruitnt efforts weren’t even that sincere.

But now that she’s tested as an S Level with a Healing Ability, they’re suddenly running to the sa private room for drinks at night and waiting in the garage first thing in the morning to cozy up to her. It was just pathetic...

The two vice presidents exchanged a look, pursing their lips and shaking their heads.

But then they rembered that before Jiang Qingli’s Superpower was detected, they hadn’t been too keen on her becoming acting president either, and they felt a strange pang of guilt.

After the Student Union mbers left, Jiang Qingli asked Qiao Lan, "Secretary-General, did you need for sothing?"

Compared to Ke An, who tried to get friendly every ti they t, Qiao Lan’s attitude hadn’t changed much, though it was a little milder than before.

"Jiang, we have a eting with the Student Union shortly," Qiao Lan said slowly. "This eting is to discuss who will be in charge of the Moon Festival event and to submit the proposal to the school administration. We’ve already prepared everything. You’ll just need to read it out loud."

"After the eting, I will accompany you to the principal’s office to help you with the paperwork. For the next two months, you will be our acting president."

Although she didn’t know Qiao Lan well, Qin Shu had said that she was ticulous and could be trusted.

Jiang Qingli nodded. "Okay."

Leaving the garage, Jiang Qingli stopped and looked at Gu Nian. "I’m going to the eting with them. Want to get lunch together?"

"Qingli, actually..." Gu Nian lowered his head, a little nervous. "I only found out yesterday that scholarship students are automatically enrolled in the Student Union. I’ll be participating in this Moon Festival event too."

It wasn’t a lie; Gu Nian had genuinely forgotten.

He never cared about anyone other than Jiang Qingli. Besides her pinned ssages, he basically ignored everything else.

He only heard the other scholarship students ntion they had joined the Student Union during class yesterday.

And last night, Jiang Qingli had been whisked away by Ye Linyuan, so he didn’t have a chance to tell her.

Gu Nian found it troubleso, but then he considered that the Student Union and the lt Star Association would be working together this year. The chance to be around her more was a blessing in disguise.

’I just wonder if she’ll be unhappy about it...’

Jiang Qingli nodded. "That’s great. I think the Student Union gives out a monthly stipend. That should help ease your financial pressure."

At that, Gu Nian’s lips curled into a sweet smile.

Behind them, the two vice presidents exchanged a look of dissatisfaction and fell back a few steps to whisper.

"Is Miss Jiang... a little too gentle with males? Gu Nian joined the Student Union. How is that any different from being a traitor?"

"Exactly! Can’t she just make him quit and join us?"

"Er... but he’s only F Level. Our basic recruitnt standard is A Level, and we only lower it to B Level for special Superpowers."

"...Still, Sister Shu would never be like this. With a disobedient Beast Husband, she’d just take a whip to him!"

"Seriously. She looks too soft and gentle. Can she really handle it?"

Qiao Lan glanced back at the two, her eyes warning them to stop.

Vice President Tang shrugged. "Don’t tell you trust her. Weren’t you so anxious last night you couldn’t sleep?"

Vice President Zhao added, "Honestly, you should be the acting president. You’ve been here the longest and have the most respect from everyone."

"Forget it." Qiao Lan sighed, her voice tinged with reluctance. "I’ll follow the president’s orders."

Anyone could see that even though Qiao Lan spoke up for Jiang Qingli, her eyes were still full of doubt.

---

The Student Union and the lt Star Association had always been mortal enemies, destined to clash whenever they t.

Today was no exception.

Throughout the entire eting, Jiang Qingli felt like she’d walked into a theater. They were supposed to be discussing a vision for their collaboration and exchanging mber lists, but both sides were just trading passive-aggressive barbs and sarcastic remarks.

The Student Union’s president had only brought Ke An, but their side had more people. With all their chattering, their combat strength was already considerable.

Perhaps as a test, the two lt Star Association vice presidents didn’t speak up to help her. Jiang Qingli had to handle it all on her own, but with Yuan Shiyao and Gu Nian occasionally interjecting, her defense was flawless.

When a mid-eting break was finally called, Jiang Qingli decided to step out for so fresh air.

Just as she left, Yuan Shiyao prepared to stand and follow her.

"Hey."

A low voice ca from his side.

Yuan Shiyao turned to see Gu Nian’s beautiful eyes filled with gloom. "Does your brother know you’re trying to seduce Qingli?"

Taking in the other’s hostility, Yuan Shiyao raised an eyebrow and spoke coolly, "Don’t overthink it. Qingli and I are just good friends."

"Gu Nian, being too sensitive will only make people dislike you."

With that, he turned and walked out.

As he watched Yuan Shiyao in his platinum-white uniform approach the girl in her ink-black one, the two contrasting colors drawing near, a cold sneer escaped Gu Nian’s throat.

’Friends?’

’Who looks at a friend with that kind of lust in their eyes?’

’What a phony.’

’He’s courting death.’

...

After getting so fresh air, Jiang Qingli returned to the conference room. She endured the eting for a while longer until, finally, they reached the last item on the agenda.

She breathed a sigh of relief.

But as she opened the proposal file, she froze—

The docunt, which should have been filled with text, was now completely blank!
