"A Yao, I’ll be back later. Mr. Zhang accidentally fell into the swimming pool today at the villa and is still in the hospital. I’m about to go see her."
"You must be back at the villa for dinner in an hour. I’ll wait for you!"
Bai Chenyao finished speaking, leaving no room for Gu Tiantian to refuse, and directly hung up the phone.
Gu Tiantian looked at the phone, grinding her molars hard.
She slowly walked towards Zhang Lan’s hospital room. When she reached the door, she steadied her emotions before opening the door and going in.
"Miss Gu, you’re back."
Mrs. Chen’s eyes lit up when she saw Gu Tiantian.
Gu Tiantian gave a slight smile. She had been running earlier, and although her breathing was now steady, her cheeks still had a hint of redness.
Mrs. Chen noticed and thought that Miss Gu looked very well.
But in Zhang Lan’s eyes, it beca sothing else.
Now filled with jealousy and resentnt towards Gu Tiantian, she felt uncomfortable all over just seeing her.
Yet, because she wanted to see that man, she had to endure it.
She took a deep breath and, after a mont, adjusted her mood, giving Gu Tiantian a weak smile as she greeted her.
"Tian Tian, you’re here."
Before Gu Tiantian could speak, Zhang Lan quickly added.
"Everything is fine on my end. You didn’t need to co in person, and I fell into the pool by myself, so you really don’t need to bla yourself."
Guilt was not sothing Gu Tiantian felt.
She was rely worried that Zhang Lan might have so after-effects and would rember her then.
She wasn’t a saint; Zhang Lan fell into the swimming pool by herself and still expected her to feel guilty.
"Well, I understand, Mr. Zhang. You should rest well. When you’re discharged tomorrow, I’ll have the driver pick you up. It’s getting late, you should have dinner, and I’ll be leaving now."
Zhang Lan had no intention of stopping Gu Tiantian, and with Mrs. Chen in the room, she couldn’t say much either.
"Okay, be careful on the road."
After placing the al down, Mrs. Chen followed Gu Tiantian out of the hospital room.
On the way back, Gu Tiantian was just about to ask Xiao Zhang to stop by her house to check on Grandma Gu when she received a call from her grandmother.
"Tian Tian, I heard from Mrs. Chen that your tutor fell into the swimming pool today. How is she?"
Gu Tiantian glanced at the back of Xiao Zhang’s head and quickly replied.
"Grandma, don’t worry. She accidentally fell while walking alone. She’s fine now and will be discharged tomorrow."
"Oh, that’s good. Although it’s not your responsibility, you were still there. Go see her when she’s discharged tomorrow."
"Yes, Grandma, I know."
"Alright, your uncle and I are about to have dinner. When are you coming back?"
Just as Gu Tiantian was about to speak, Gu Yunyun’s voice ca through the phone.
"Grandma, is Tian Tian coming back?"
Gu Tiantian decisively decided not to go back, especially since Bai Chenyao wanted to talk to her during dinner. This made her even more determined not to go back.
"Grandma, I have class tonight, so I won’t be back. You, Uncle, and Sister Yunyun should go ahead and eat."
"Make sure to keep warm at night and don’t catch a cold. I’ll hang up now."
After hanging up, Gu Tiantian looked at Xiao Zhang, who was driving.
"Xiao Zhang, was it you who told my grandma about Mr. Zhang’s accident?"
Xiao Zhang remained calm and respectful in his deanor.
"Yes, the gentleman said that Grandma Gu is your relative, and your matters are her right to know."
Gu Tiantian took a deep breath, glaring hard at the back of Xiao Zhang’s head, but ultimately said nothing.
What could she say, after all, the other party was Bai Chenyao.
