When I woke up, it felt very quiet around . I might not have fallen asleep naturally and was a little disoriented.
When I groggily noticed that I was in a car, and moreover, a very familiar one, Gu Tiantian instantly beca clear-headed.

Raising her head, Gu Tiantian quickly sat up straight from her slouched position, looking at Bai Chenyao sitting beside her.

Once she made sure she couldn’t see Bai Chenyao’s car anymore, Gu Tiantian stopped, sweating all over.
Her tailbone hurt unbearably, and her white and tender baby face was covered in sweat. Her sowhat pale face turned ruddy from the exertion, yet also carried a sickly pallor.
Her stamina clearly depleted, she stood hunched over with her hands on her hips, in a thoroughly embarrassed and disheveled state.
However, at least she escaped from Bai Chenyao.
From now on, paths of bridges and roads shall not cross!
Embarrassed and exhausted, Gu Tiantian took about ten minutes to catch her breath, then slowly raised her eyes to look at the surroundings.
Previously, in her frantic run, she noticed only a piece of desolate weeds at the start, and so small mounds nearby, definitely at the outskirts of Shengjing City.
She had followed the sound, thinking that as long as there were people, Bai Chenyao wouldn’t dare to act rough in broad daylight, would he?
Looking around now, she found herself in an old, shabby alley.
The alley was narrow, with sewage all over the ground, a very pungent sll in the air.
All along the way, there were discarded fruit peels and so leftover food waste. The air was filled with the stench of rotting food.
Gu Tiantian retched a few tis, her eyes welled up with tears.
Where on earth had she ended up?
Her ears were assaulted by loud, explosive music, the kind usually played during nightti entertainnt. Yet here in this rural suburb, there seed to be no distinction between day and night.
Looking back, Gu Tiantian realized she had run too far into the alley, which stretched long and winding, impossible to see the way from which she ca.
Taking a deep breath, suppressing the urge to vomit, Gu Tiantian knew she had to leave this place imdiately.
The whole environnt stirred a sense of unease within her.
At the slightest movent, her tailbone hurt, making her grimace.
Her forehead was damp with cold sweat, yet Gu Tiantian didn’t dare linger any longer, turning around to head back.
Who knew where this alley led, or if it might be a dead end?
Her stamina gravely depleted, Gu Tiantian felt her vision darken a bit.
