Now reading: Chapter 189 - 173: Corpse Bone State from Era of Magic and Martial Arts, a Eastern novel by Old tree by the grave.

The body seed to be imrsed in an ancient ice spring, with a bone-chilling cold seeping in from all directions, washing over every bone.

The coldness was like countless tiny ice needles, shuttling between the marrow, stimulating the bones to grow at an astonishing speed.

They seed eager to break free from the shackles of flesh, like a trapped monstrous creature, impatient to escape this fragile flesh casing.

"Heh—"

Having experienced this once, Feng Mu remained calm this ti.

Within him, the [Blood and Flesh Initial Solution] of the Third State raged like a storm, running wild.

The flesh between skin and bones was like a herd of vipers awakening from hibernation, surging like the tide, roaring, countless scarlet serpentine bodies tightly coiling around the bones, constricting in circles.

It felt as if, within the universe of his body, a white skeletal monster was entangled with an endless swarm of scarlet snakes, while his "spirit" was imrsed in the center of the universe, both a calm observer and the judge of this battle.

However, his position as a judge wavered, cleverly maintaining the balance between both sides, always lending a helping hand when the weaker side was about to fall.

Like a master of the balance art, subtly adjusting the scales of power until both sides exhausted their strength, each retreating back to the line that divided them, returning to an initial state of equilibrium.

[Trait Iron Strength—Molded Embryo, essence successfully absorbed!]

[System detected mastery of this trait, Molded Embryo trait significantly enhanced.]

[Molded Embryo (White) sublimated to — Molded Embryo (Green).]

In an instant, strange knowledge and primal instincts surged again like a storm through Feng Mu’s soul, rging with his flesh and blood body.

After a long two minutes, the chilling aura rampaging within finally retreated like receding tides, leaving behind a thicket of bones masked beneath flesh.

Feng Mu gently twisted his wrist, and several intricate retractable bone knives sprang from his wrist, staggered and layered, like a blooming garland.

These bone knives, about thirty centiters long, completely encircled his hand, forming an eerie yet beautiful cannibal flower ring.

Feng Mu deftly manipulated the bone ring, causing it to vibrate, producing a buzzing resonance in the air that sent shivers down the spine.

Then, with a thought, the finger bones burst through the flesh like the sharp claws of a feline, silently extending.

The length of these finger bones hadn’t changed much compared to before, but their hue now revealed a deeper, colder tallic sheen, like rough iron refined into resilient steel.

The most critical change was that after Feng Mu retracted those finger bones, he could still feel a swelling sensation at his fingertips, as if an invisible force was ready to burst forth.

Feng Mu followed his body’s instincts, bending his index finger as if pulling a trigger, lightly flicking towards the side.

In an instant, a finger bone shot out like an arrow from a bow, accompanied by a sharp "swish," striking precisely into the tiled wall, deeply embedded like a bullet hitting the bullseye.

Feng Mu slightly lowered his head, focusing for a mont, seeing the flesh on his index finger slightly sink, then quickly replenishing, as new joints grew and reloaded.

Feng Mu walked to the wall, prying out the bone, allowing it to return to his palm, capable of burying itself back into his flesh.

"Retrievable bullet!" Feng Mu licked his lips, muttering a few more words, "Ten fingers firing in succession?"

Instinctively, Feng Mu reached for the back of his neck, fingers lightly touching the protruding outline of his spine, as if searching for so secret switch.

Yet, despite several attempts, the spine did not easily detach as he had hoped.

His brows furrowed slightly, but then relaxed, for he sensed from the subtle feedback from his body that it wasn’t a complete rejection, but rather, the timing was not yet ripe, his strength still insufficient.

"Perhaps, just one or two more levels of [Molded Embryo] enhancent might reach that level," Feng Mu mused aloud, a hint of anticipation in his voice.

In his mind, he involuntarily recalled a classic scene from a certain animation in his previous life, not rely drawing out the spine to swing it, but a grander, more shocking spectacle:

The entire skeleton pierced the ground like a storm, instantly transforming the surrounding small area into a forest of sinister white bones.

Feng Mu couldn’t quite rember the na; the longer he spent in this world, the more his mories of his past life were diluted by the ever-filling present, growing increasingly vague.

"Could further upgrading [Molded Embryo] reach such a realm, perhaps even more domineering?"

A fervent light flickered in Feng Mu’s eyes, an indescribable yearning surging in his heart, as if he had already seen the day he would wield such power.

Feng Mu’s fingers lightly explored his body, sensing the ongoing changes in his bones.

On his shoulders, bone spurs pierced through the flesh like dense thorns, appearing more concentrated and powerful.

The bone nodules on his back arranged more closely, with their number doubling, forming an armor that invoked a "trypophobic" effect.

The jagged ribs on his chest emitted a terrifying nace, able to interlock like the compound teeth of alien creatures, sending a chilling sensation.

"Unlike the White Molded Embryo that simply controlled the length of bones, upgrading to Green Molded Embryo allows to finely alter every bone’s shape."

Feng Mu spoke with a hint of irrepressible excitent,

"Moreover, I can now manipulate all partial changes simultaneously, which ans..."

With a thought from Feng Mu, the bones at the major joints of his body began to grow and deform rapidly, breaking through the flesh, zealously extending outward.

In the blink of an eye, the reflection in the mirror underwent a startling transformation.

Finally, a humanoid monster wearing a Mask appeared in the mirror:

Thorns and barbs sprouted from his shoulders, his chest and back covered by a grim bone armor, with a terrifying ring of bone plates encircling his wrists, fingers turned into sharp hooks, bone spurs surrounding his knees, toes transford into talons, tightly gripping the ground.

The rest of his body remained connected by flesh and skin, forming a creature woven from the combination of white bone and flesh, both terrifying and filled with an eerie charm.

Feng Mu closed his eyes, deeply feeling the power unleashed from the depths of his bones, an unprecedentedly potent energy, surging within him, as if ready to burst through his bones and spill out.

In this Corpse Bone State, he could clearly perceive a massive enhancent in his attack power, defense, and even speed.

In his heart, Feng Mu had only a vague sense, yet he couldn’t be certain.

The system’s panel could only display his stats in a normal human state, those cold figures unable to accurately capture his true combat strength after transformation, or when various "buff auras" stacked.

"Perhaps, the current combat strength is roughly twice that of his human form?" Feng Mu murmured softly, his voice tinged with uncertainty.

He pondered for a mont, thinking: "I could test my strength at the martial arts hall with the testing equipnt, but maybe I should forget it. After all, appearing in this form at the martial arts hall would be too shocking, and the testers do have recording functions."

Feng Mu sighed softly, his gaze returning to his reflection in the mirror, beneath the faint Mask was a pair of cold and ominous eyes, he spoke calmly from behind the cold mask: "For now, let’s na it — Corpse Bone State!"
