Ding——

The elevator doors opened.

The doctor adjusted his white coat in the polished mirror, then gently tugged at the edge of his mask, and with hands in pockets, walked toward the corridor of the VIP restorative care room.

As he passed the VIP access, he took out his work ID from his pocket and swiped it against the card reader.

With a click, the door was opened.

The corridor was spacious and very quiet, with many special care wards empty, except for the innermost one which showed an esteed patient had checked in.

"Ha—, the sll of privilege has indeed saved the trouble of looking all over for soone."

The doctor mocked himself softly, as he pushed open the ward door and stepped inside.

In the ward, a giant wall-mounted television was broadcasting rolling news. Li Hanyu sat at the side table, watching the news content while typing away on her laptop, orderly managing the company’s affairs big and small.

She glanced at the doctor who walked in but did not speak.

The doctor t Li Hanyu’s gaze and said warmly, "The anesthesia is about to wear off, I ca to check on the patient’s condition and administer so pain relief dication if needed."

Li Hanyu withdrew her gaze and refocused on her work.

The doctor walked to the bedside, seeing Qian Tong was sound asleep, he gently pulled the curtain closed and cautiously unplugged the vitals monitoring device.

Then, he took out a syringe from his pocket and gently injected the dication into the intravenous line.

Within seconds, Qian Tong suddenly awoke from his slumber, his eyes wide open, staring in horror at the hand covering his mouth and nose.

His face flushed deep red, as he let out a few feeble whimpers, followed by his pupils gradually glazing over with a pale hue.

"Ma’am, the patient’s condition is very stable, I’ve administered so pain relief dication and he’s now resting comfortably."

The doctor said with a smile, took the remote, and considerately lowered the TV volu, then quietly exited the ward.

The doctor stood quietly by the ward door, took out his phone, gently tapped the screen, and sent a text ssage—Task completed, there’s another one in the ward, do you need to take care of her as well?

The ssage was accompanied by a photo of Li Hanyu intently working on her profile.

The phone vibrated imdiately, with a reply that was concise and clear—She doesn’t know much, there’s no current need for action.

The doctor put away the phone and stepped out of the VIP corridor, took the elevator and slowly descended, until he reached a restroom on a certain floor.

There, he removed the white coat and mask, casually tossed them into the trash can, then quietly left the restroom, blending into the bustling hospital crowd, soon disappearing from sight.

Throughout, Li Hanyu remained focused on her work. The news of Qian Tong’s injury and hospitalization couldn’t be kept under wraps, so she had to make extra preparations to prevent certain clowns in the company who couldn’t see the situation clearly from causing trouble at this point.

After more than ten minutes, Li Hanyu suddenly looked up, suspiciously watching another doctor in a white coat walk in.

"Ma’am, I ca to change the patient’s dication." The doctor said with a gentle smile.

Li Hanyu’s eyebrows slightly furrowed, she questioned suspiciously, "Didn’t a doctor just co to change the dication not long ago?"

The doctor’s smile froze on his face, evidently stunned by the sudden questioning, standing motionless, unsure of what to do.

Li Hanyu’s expression changed. She quickly jumped from her seat, hurried to the bed, and abruptly pulled open the curtain, montarily losing her balance as the blood drained from her face, becoming as pale as the dead body on the bed.

...

Qian Huan stood rigidly in front of the bed, staring blankly at the body gently covered by a white sheet.

A buzzing sound echoed in his mind, thoughts swirling in a chaotic whirlpool, unable to settle.

"Mom, wasn’t Second Uncle alright just now?" Qian Huan’s teeth chattered.

Qian Huan reached to support his mother’s shoulder, whose body trembled slightly, her face as pale and bloodless as that of a corpse.

After asking repeatedly, it seed his mother finally awoke from deep shock, her gaze gradually focusing as she shook off Qian Huan’s supporting hand.

Li Hanyu’s hands clamped firmly on Qian Huan’s shoulders like iron clamps, her nails digging deeply into Qian Huan’s flesh.

Li Hanyu’s voice was incredibly hoarse, like a hot iron being plunged into ice water, suppressing a certain madness.

She slowly spoke, "The explosion on Qiming Street was no accident, the doctor who just ca to change the dication was an impostor, your second uncle was killed."

Qian Huan’s lips parted slightly, wanting to say sothing, but his mind seed imrsed in a dense fog, bewildered and unable to sort his thoughts.

Li Hanyu bit her tongue hard, the intense pain and bloody taste jolting her nerves, bringing her back from deep fear.

Her gaze was fierce and wild as she spoke, her teeth stained with blood, "Son, don’t speak now, just listen to , I will make the hospital keep your second uncle’s death under wraps for a while."

Qian Huan had never seen his mother look so unsettling before, and he instinctively nodded.

Li Hanyu spoke rapidly, "Your most urgent task now is to go back to the Second Prison, utilize the ti I’ve fought for you to quickly promote your trusted n in prison, and have them occupy key positions."

"I originally thought you’d have six months to gain control of the Second Prison, that was my mistake, I overestimated those people, they’re not going to adhere to the contract and rules, so you shouldn’t hold onto those rules either."

"Before they strike at you and again, replace everyone in the Second Prison with your own people."

Qian Huan’s throat felt dry, he lowered his voice asking, "Mom, who exactly are these people you’re talking about, who killed Second Uncle, is it the Group?"

Li Hanyu gritted her teeth, "How could it be the Group, they need us to control the Second Prison, so the culprit can only be those bastards in the prison system, they don’t want to separate the Second Prison."

Qian Huan realized, face turning ugly, "But I just parachuted into Second Prison, most people there don’t accept , and they’ve already banded together and set the rules, I can’t even appoint or remove soone easily, how can I..."

Li Hanyu interrupted her son impatiently, "Your Second Uncle is dead, what rules are there to discuss, the knife is already at our throats, we don’t want to die, we can only overturn the table."

Qian Huan felt a chill in his heart, "Overturn the table, the prison will be thrown into chaos."

Li Hanyu took a deep breath, turned her son’s head, and stared straight into his eyes, brimming with murderous intent:

"Son, I know you’re overly cautious by nature, but if you continue to be cautious now, you will die, you need to go crazy, understand?"

Qian Huan t his mother’s intense and frantic gaze, his scalp tingling, then he fiercely nodded:

"Yes, I don’t want to die, I have to go crazy, I have to overturn the table."

Li Hanyu encouraged, "Right, you’re the warden of the Second Prison, as long as you can control it, even if you overturn the table, I can beg the Group to suppress everything, your Second Uncle died for the Group, they won’t ignore it."

With that, Li Hanyu turned to the hospital director, observing but silent, standing nearby: "Director, you’ll help keep the news contained, won’t you?"

The director truly didn’t want to get involved in this whirlpool, but the person died in his hospital, and the woman before him was clearly on the verge of madness, what could he do?

The director reluctantly nodded, "Providing the best service for the VIP is our hospital’s highest creed, Ms. Li, you can rest assured."

Li Hanyu nodded, then said, "Then could I trouble the director to prepare a body bag for , and a vehicle, to secretly transport this body to the headquarters of the Bright Group."

The director’s brow furrowed tightly, with a thousand unwilling thoughts in his heart, but facing Li Hanyu’s uncompromising gaze, he could only bite the bullet and make the arrangents.

Li Hanyu turned her gaze back to Qian Huan, her eyes flickering with madness and resolve:

"Son, trust , no matter how big a ss you create in the prison, I’ll protect you, even if it costs my life and the company’s downfall, I’ll surely drag Bright to stand behind you."

Qian Huan took a deep breath, deeply moved, "Don’t worry, mom, I won’t be so cautious this ti, in fact, I’ve already found a knife, I’ll go back now and sharpen it to kill..."
