Ma Xuan jerked his head to the side, as Wang Anquan’s electric baton ca dangerously close, almost touching his eyeballs.

He cast a sinister sidelong glance at Wang Anquan, correcting his judgnt:

"Alright, there are three of them. What exactly did Feng Mu instill in their minds?"

Among the trio, Ma Xuan judged Guan Chong to be the most affected by Feng Mu’s influence, because his hand holding the gun remained rock-steady, his gaze calm.

Within that calmness lurked unfathomable madness.

However, the person who brought the most pressure to Ma Xuan at this mont was Jiang Li, because his hand holding the gun was trembling uncontrollably. It was terrifying; Ma Xuan’s scalp tingled with each tremor.

Feng Mu smirked, quite pleased with the transformation of the three.

He noticed Ma Xuan’s legs bending as if to retreat, so he said with a gentle smile:

"Don’t move back; the blood has already splattered on your pant leg. The more you avoid it, the harder it is to clean."

Ma Xuan glanced down at his pant leg, his pupils narrowing. Although the tops of his shoes were dry, the edge of his pant leg was clearly marked with dirty blood splatters.

He could hear the deeper aning in Feng Mu’s words, and couldn’t help but give a cold laugh, his tone laced with sarcasm:

"What, killing a prison guard wasn’t enough for you? You even want to pin the sa cri on ?"

Before Feng Mu could respond, Ma Xuan snorted coldly again and continued questioning:

"Setting aside whether your words are believable, right now, who gave you the guts and authority to kill a colleague in the prison?"

Feng Mu patiently waited for Ma Xuan to finish speaking before responding calmly:

"Killing a colleague? In my eyes, those beasts causing a riot aren’t my colleagues; they’re murderers who don’t die enough even after ten thousand deaths."

He paused slightly, his sharp gaze sweeping over Ma Xuan as he continued:

"However, your words now make doubt your position. Are you defending these people, or are you like the dead prison guard, also... Anyway, why are you in such a hurry to take Lou Rui back?"

Feng Mu deliberately paused here, leaving the accusation unfinished.

Such a crucial insinuation left blank was even more provocative, at least so prison guards around were starting to look at Ma Xuan with suspicion.

Especially those guards who had good relationships with the deceased guards from Death Row, looked at Ma Xuan with eyes tinged with suspicion and anger.

Feng Mu shifted his tone and said again:

"As for where I got the guts and authority?"

Feng Mu’s smile instantly vanished, replaced by a serious and cold expression. He looked around at everyone, took a deep breath, and shouted righteously:

"It’s given by the wronged souls of the more than a hundred fellow prison guards who sacrificed this morning. It’s given by the mourning of the widows and orphans they left behind. It’s given by the warden, Qian Huan!!!"

Feng Mu paused for a mont, took out the freshly issued appointnt letter from his pocket, and slapped it heavily onto Ma Xuan’s chest.

At the sa ti, his right hand gently curved, pressing against his ear as if truly listening to those silent calls, his actions full of sorrow and reverence, his voice suddenly raising eight tones, both mournful and eerie:

"Open your eyes and look around. Those dead colleagues haven’t left; they’re standing right around us, with broken necks and twisted arms, wailing towards us."

Of course, Ma Xuan couldn’t see the "Ghost Shadow" Feng Mu spoke of. He stared at the appointnt letter in his hand with wide eyes.

[In view of the major malicious incidents occurring today in the Second Prison... It has been decided to imdiately establish an Internal Inspection Departnt within the Second Prison, specifically responsible for a comprehensive investigation of this case.

.....

The Internal Inspection Departnt has the right to mobilize internal prison resources, including manpower, material resources, financial resources, etc., to ensure the investigation proceeds smoothly.

.....]

The appointnt letter was fresh, still carrying a scent of ink, the stamp on it still wet, as fresh as the blood gushing from the hole in the back of his head.

In Ma Xuan’s eyes, this thin docunt was far more terrifying than the invisible ghost shadows.

Conversely, the guards around couldn’t see the docunt in Ma Xuan’s hand, but hearing Feng Mu’s emotionally charged depiction, they collectively shivered and glanced at the air with suspicious eyes.

The cold lights reflected on the bloody ground, the chill in the air seed tinged with a faint red... The more you looked, the more eerie and frightening the surroundings beca, as if twisted ghost shadows were really lurking, chilling to the bone.

Feng Mu bared his teeth in a grim grin, his voice reaching a shrill peak, his face twisted in anger as he shouted at Ma Xuan:

"You can’t hear it, but I can hear it clearly. They’re here, continuously wailing, crying, screaming, they died too painfully, too tragically..."

Feng Mu suddenly reached out, grabbed Ma Xuan by the collar, and unexpectedly pulled him up close, speaking each word clearly,

"They didn’t die at the hands of rioting prisoners; they died at the hands of their own people, wearing the sa uniform—died at the hands of Gong Lao, who helped the prisoners escape, died at the hands of Lou Rui, who colluded with them, and also died at the hands of...."

Ma Xuan’s composure finally broke. Listening to Feng Mu’s public accusations, his peripheral vision caught the eerie gaze of the surrounding guards, his face instantly turned as pale as paper, the color draining away in an instant.

The air was oppressively tense, everyone holding their breath, waiting for Feng Mu’s next words.

Lou Rui on the ground struggled desperately, just about to speak when Wang Anquan jabbed an electric baton in his mouth, broken teeth mixed with a bloody tongue clogging his throat.

At this mont, a broadcast suddenly echoed in the air, the voice of Liu Yi, broadcasting the content of the docunt tightly held in Ma Xuan’s hand:

——"..."

——"...All on-duty personnel must unconditionally cooperate with the Internal Inspection Departnt’s investigation."

——"If anyone is found obstructing or interfering with the investigation process in any form, the Internal Inspection Departnt has the right to consider them as suspects in this case based on the severity of their actions and take necessary coercive asures for detention and interrogation."

——"Feng Mu is hereby appointed as the head of the prison’s Internal Inspection Departnt, effective imdiately!"

The timing was perfect, not a second early or late, like a carefully choreographed theater play, inserting a monologue just as the curtain was about to fall.

It upped the intensity in the room to its zenith, yet it was like the judge’s gavel of judgnt, nailing Ma Xuan’s heart into the bottomless abyss.

With the tension so high, Ma Xuan realized Feng Mu had completely cornered him. At this point, no matter how much he wanted to say, it was useless. He could only close his mouth and quietly listen to Feng Mu.

Feng Mu slowly released Ma Xuan’s collar, carefully smoothing it out, then restored his calm expression and gently said:

"Who else’s hands they died at, I think you’d be willing to tell , as a way to redeem your sins, right?"
