Feng Mu seed intrigued by Chen Yang’s words. He raised his head slightly and said with polite curiosity, "Please go on!"

Chen Yang had brought Feng Mu into the interrogation room not to admire his calm deanor but to see expressions of shock, fear, and panic on Feng Mu’s face.

He glanced up at the surveillance cara installed in the right corner of the wall, noticing that the red light blinked once and then went out.

Only then did he speak ominously:

"Did you know that Gong Lao’s body has already been sent to the incinerator, almost ready to be reduced to ashes? In other words, the evidence of your murder was nearly destroyed, what a pity..."

Chen Yang closely observed the changes in Feng Mu’s expression, a slight, smug smile appearing on his lips:

"However, at the last mont, I retrieved the body from the incinerator.

Because I saw a news post by a blogger nad [Graveyard Tree], you know [Graveyard Tree], don’t you?"

Chen Yang stared intently at Feng Mu, noticing the latter’s pupils contract for a mont. He then presumptuously answered for him:

"You know, that’s right, the post went viral, causing a heated discussion online. Even if you didn’t know imdiately, you should have seen it by now."

Feng Mu responded coolly, "So?"

Chen Yang sneered:

"So I realized imdiately that the Second Prison’s situation was critically unstable. Soone wanted to seize this opportunity to completely bring down the Second Prison, or more accurately, they aid to bring down the prison warden.

And you, clearly you’re part of the warden’s faction, am I right?"

Feng Mu t Chen Yang’s direct gaze, freely nodding in acknowledgnt:

"Your assessnt is basically correct, so you decided..."

Hearing Feng Mu’s straightforward admission bolstered Chen Yang’s confidence.

He picked up where Feng Mu left off, continuing:

"I decided imdiately that I would no longer be soone else’s mouthpiece or mute. I realized there was a trendous opportunity hidden behind this. By the way, do you understand what ’mouthpiece’ or ’mute’ ans?"

Feng Mu raised an eyebrow slightly, relaxed and smiling as if chatting with a peer, he said:

"The aning is very clear, it refers to soone without their own thoughts, just chanically echoing others’ opinions, like an obedient echo.

In managent, it is indeed a labor-saving and safe thod. To be honest, because of my father, I have a personal understanding of this approach, hehe—"

Seeing Feng Mu understood, Chen Yang was quite pleased to spare himself the explanation and said cheerfully:

"Exactly, that’s what it ans. Hm, you surely haven’t listened to your father either, otherwise you wouldn’t be here in handcuffs today. As it happens, neither did I listen to the old Patrol Officer that day, I held a press conference, announcing your suspicion of murder, and today..."

Chen Yang’s voice beca chilling like snake venom, dripping from his lips one word at a ti.

anwhile, his right hand slowly reached into his pocket, taking out a sealed evidence bag. Inside lay a short dagger, its surface covered with a layer of black, congealed blood, looking particularly ominous.

Chen Yang’s right hand carefully held the evidence bag, exposing only a small corner of the hilt, as if afraid of touching the taboo guilt.

It seed like his first ti doing this; his movents were sowhat hesitant and shaking, taking a few seconds with effort before slowly placing the corner of the hilt into Feng Mu’s handcuffed right hand.

Then, his other hand firmly helped Feng Mu clench his fingers, ensuring every fingerprint was clearly imprinted on the hilt.

Feng Mu cooperated throughout, allowing Chen Yang to leave his fingerprints on the murder weapon. With a slight turn of his mind, he deduced Chen Yang’s "investigation strategy" with near accuracy.

Evidently, Chen Yang in front of him was another rising star detective, compelling one to marvel at how the Patrol Office truly is a breeding ground for detectives.

Feng Mu half-squinted his eyes and asked faintly:

"Is this dagger the murder weapon that killed Gong Lao?"

Seeing Feng Mu cooperating so, Chen Yang was sowhat surprised, but was quickly followed by a pleasant sensation.

He originally had planned so intense and violent thods, but it seed those weren’t needed now, which gave him a slight sense of regret.

He placed the weapon back into the evidence bag, returned it to his pocket:

"Indeed it is, you used this dagger to stab Gong Lao’s lung from behind when he was unguarded. Afterward, you cruelly set fire to the scene, attempting to stage it as if Gong Lao committed self-immolation.

However, your act was witnessed by a neighbor, so you went further, silencing the neighbor as well."

Though his hands were cuffed, making movent difficult, Feng Mu tried his best to applaud, providing enough emotional value, and praised:

"An old-fashioned story, so crude techniques, yet I have to admit, such flawed tricks could drive most innocent people to despair.

What a world this is..."

Feng Mu was struck with an unspoken shock internally, the scene before him was so familiar as if he had just employed it on soone else, not expecting it to be so quickly used on him in return.

Karma, the cycle of cosmic law, Destiny plays its trick, hehe—

Chen Yang locked his eyes on Feng Mu’s calm face, finally catching fierce waves of emotions within the latter’s gaze.

He thought he was gradually breaching Feng Mu’s psychological defenses, a wave of satisfaction and pleasure surged within him, manifesting as an utterly satisfied smile of triumph on his face.

"Exactly, you finally comprehend the situation, you’ve been pushed to a dead end by now, but I’m not targeting you deliberately, you still have a chance, as long as..."

Chen Yang revealed the knife with a brutal tone:

"As long as you are willing to point out that the mastermind behind all of this is the prison warden Qian Huan, you might..."

However, Feng Mu’s loyalty ran bone-deep, how could he tolerate Chen Yang’s nauseating words polluting his ears.

His facial expression changed rapidly, but instead of the panic Chen Yang expected, he took a deep breath, then an enamored and mysterious smile appeared, he continued the praise he hadn’t finished earlier:

"The world, truly astonishingly wonderful, is simply a paradise for villains, every inch of air filled with delightful sweetness."

Chen Yang’s expression suddenly froze, a turmoil of panic within him, even suspecting his hearing to be at fault.

He widened his eyes in disbelief, gazing at Feng Mu, blurting out:

"You, you’re not afraid?"

Despite his hands being bound by cold handcuffs, despite being alone, Feng Mu’s face once again regained that deeply concealed pathological smile of elegance he showed when surrounded by others in the elevator that day:

"Why should I fear? Good people need to fear, but am I not a villain?"
