Heroes were the hope for humanity. They saved those who couldn't save themselves, but who would save the heroes?
"I would like to help, but I have questions," Rudy responded with a composed look on his face. Sure, he wanted to find the culprit, but he had other things to do.
"Let guess, you want to know how they got the exact number?"
"Yes." Rudy nodded. "And why is this kept a secret? Should it be made public to make other heroes aware of the possible danger?" Rudy wondered.
"If it is made public, it will cause chaos in the world. Civilians would lose their hopes."
"I would like to help, but I can't do anything if I know nothing," Rudy shrugged. "Do we even have any clues?"
Erika let out a soft sigh and glanced at Eric before turning back to Rudy.
"The hero organization is investigating the matter. However, we won't be joining them. We will conduct a separate investigation of our own. My boss will find everything and command this mission. She has knowledge of everything. She is a master of technology. Whatever I have learned, I learned from her.
Although I haven't asked her for permission, I will convince her to let you join in this mission. Once she agrees, I will let you know."
"Wait, can your boss do that? Wouldn't that be against the rules or sothing?"
"No. My boss doesn't care about all that. She isn't afraid of anything. She is the strongest person in the world, and if she wishes, she can even beco the ruler of this country. She has an army of thousands and possesses advanced weapons."
The way Erika described her boss piqued Rudy's interest. He wanted to know who her boss was and why he wasn't aware of that.

"Who is your boss?" Rudy asked the most predictable question.
"I knew you would ask that, but unfortunately, I can't tell you that. It's supposed to be a secret."
"If you can't tell that, how am I supposed to help you?" Rudy raised his brow.
"Don't worry. Once I convince my boss to let you join the mission, you will et her…" Erika asserted with a nervous smile on her face.
"Hopefully," she added imdiately.
'Let test her with this… if her boss is truly a big shot, she would know what the hero organization is planning…'
Rudy told Erika everything that Eric had told him. Although he felt guilty for his actions, he had no other choice.
'Eric couldn't stop worrying about it and I couldn't give him a satisfactory solution. Maybe if it's Erika… she can help him.'
After listening to Rudy, Erika frowned her face and angrily asked, "Did Eric tell you this?"
Rudy simply nodded without saying anything.
Erika frowned her face even more and muttered, "Stupid fuck."

Erika hesitated for a mont but continued with a sigh, "This is just a speculation of mine. It's not confird and I don't think they would go this far, but I think the hero organization is getting rid of the heroes who don't join them."

'Although it makes sense, we were not attacked by them. It was totally unrelated. I don't think the hero organization knows that Eric has recorded everything. If they did, they had a dozen chances to attack us.'
"Take it with a grain of salt, okay?" Erika retorted. "I asked my boss about this, but she made no comnts on it. Unless she confirms this, we won't act."
"If it's true, why aren't the heroes protesting or sothing? Isn't that the obvious thing to do? Surely, if we can think that the hero organization is behind the death of thousands of heroes, others can also think the sa."

"I thought you died…" Eric hugged Rudy and began to cry.
