Eternal Cultivation of Alchemy Chapter 3407: Half-God

Alex froze upon hearing his master’s question. It took him a moment to fully understand what she meant before slowly shaking his head.

"I’m not a Half-God, Master," Alex said, understanding how she could be mistaken. He did give the same feeling as a Half-God to people, after all.

"The hell you’re not," Bladedance said. "I can sense it all around you. It’s not as strong, but you’re clearly a Half-God. I’m not the only one who sees that, right?"

The Beast God shook her head. "Honestly, I thought I was going mad earlier. I kept thinking something must’ve been wrong with me, but if you’re sensing it too, then it must be true."

"I am sure everyone can sense it," Flamestride said from the corner of the room. "Although most who haven’t met gods won’t be able to explain what they are feeling."

"See?" Bladedance said, turning back around to Alex. "You are a Half-God."

Alex wasn’t sure how he could explain it. He was closer to a Child of Heaven than a Half-God, with a fraction of the power of the Sun God to make them worship him on sight.

"I don’t know if I can call myself that," Alex said. "I would call myself a Child of Heaven, actually."

"A Child of Heaven is born out of nothing," the Beast God explained before anyone had the chance to say anything. "You are a human; thus, by definition, you cannot be a Child of Heaven."

Alex blinked. "Really?" he asked.

"Tell me," Bladedance spoke up. "Do you have access to a new source of power?"

Alex hesitated. "Yes," he answered.

"It’s mixed in with your Qi?" she asked.

Alex felt his heart beat faster. "Yes," he answered again.

"And what element is the aura?"

"Fire and Yang."

"Yeah, you are a Half-God."

"A Fire and Yang Half-God," the Beast God said in surprise as she rubbed her chin. "Isn’t that the domain of Senior Ashmaker?"

"He’s more Fire than Yang. Although his Creation and Axiom do give him some domain over Yang too," Bladedance said.

Alex watched the two women converse with a blank look on his face, his mind racing with a million thoughts.

He was a Half-God? Not a Child of Heaven? Now that he thought about it, the reason Rosemist had tossed away the possibility of him being a Child of Heaven was because he was a human. However, with the failed merging with the Sun God, he had thought he had broken through that requirement in some way.

It was hard for Alex to call himself a true god when the pure energy that the gods had was no longer there. It was impure, with elemental aura mixed into his Qi inside his dantian.

If that was the requirement for being a Half-God, then... was he really one?

"I am a little confused, though," the Beast God said. "I thought only those in the Celestial realm could bee a Half-God. He’s not even in the Divine realm yet, so how could he possibly be one?"

Alex perked up, nodding.

Bladedance looked at her disciple and rubbed her forehead. "I don’t know," she said. "But it’s better not to view him through the lens of mon sense. He’s known to break it all. Did you know he already has an Axiom too?"

"I do," the Beast God said with an awkward smile. "I was there when he learned it."

She too could not forget the sight of a mere Immortal, who hadn’t even begun forging his Origins, calling upon the Heavenly Principle.

She had spent so long searching for her own Axioms and was still unable to find one. And yet, the young man before her already had his permission to bee a Celestial laid out for him. All he had to do now was cultivate.

"Am I really a Half-God? Are we sure? Maybe there is something else that I could be," Alex said, still not fully believing.

"There is no doubt," Bladedance said with a sigh.

"But... how?" the Beast God asked.

Bladedance sighed. "I don’t know. Maybe Moonspirit has some records that tell us something?"

Alex narrowed his eyes. "Do you not know how a Half-God is made, Master?" he asked.

"I have some idea, but not entirely," Bladedance said. "And the mystery of a Half-God is one of the best-kept secrets in the human world. In the entire world, there are only eight Half-Gods in total. Nine, now that you’re included."

Alex had never in his life realized how tiny the number had been.

"Just eight?" he asked.

The Beast God nodded. "There’s the Sky God, the Winter God, the Storm God, the Forest God, the Ocean God, the Fire God, the Golden God, and the Stone God," she listed.

"Only those?" Alex asked. "Aren’t there 33 different gods?"

"Most gods are gods of weapons or professions. Those do not produce a Half-God. The only ones that do are gods that are associated with the elements."

Alex nodded. "And those are the only gods that have something to do with elements?" he asked.

"Pretty much," Bladedance said. "You could argue the Divination God could be considered a god of Time, but for some reason he’s not a Half-God."

"He’s hardly around to even be called one," the Beast God said. "No one even knows if he’s alive."

"He’s alive," Bladedance answered.

Alex nodded. They had gotten that information from Bai Jingshen, after all. The Divination God had returned to the Land of the Blessed Sun, and then left.

"He should have e through this world, right?" Alex asked.

The Beast God blinked. "If he did, he never stopped here."

Bladedance turned toward the Beast God. "How long before we can leave for the Sky God’s palace?" she asked.

The Beast God turned toward Flamestride, who gave the answer. "Five years. I have been keeping track."

"Five years... That should be enough time to find out something about your situation from Moonspirit," Bladedance said to Alex. "If not, then half a decade later, we can learn everything from Newheaven herself."
