Alex got up to leave. Now that the interview was over with, there was no reason for him to stay here. He could go back and start using the gift he had been given by the War God and see how far he could get with it.

Windborn got up along with Alex. "I will make my decision very soon."

Alex nodded. "I can't imagine what you must be going through," he said. "To give away the one chance you could have had at returning to the biggest tournant of your life. I'm sorry this is happening to you."

Windborn gave a sad smile. "It's alright now. The pin could've only helped return if I still had my disciple. I knew long ago this wasn't going to work."

Alex smiled back. He began to leave but stopped for a question. "What did happen to your disciple?" he asked.

"He died," the man answered.

"You did tell that, but how? An accident or murder?" Alex asked.

"Murder," Windborn said with a sigh. "I found the murderers but never found the one who hired them. I still don't know who was responsible for my disciple's death."

"I see," Alex said. "That's… unfortunate. I'm sorry for your loss, Brother Windborn, and I hope you find the killers soday."

Windborn gave a small bow in thanks. "It's funny, isn't it? After all that drama of about calling those killers cowards, my disciple still died."

Alex nodded along, agreeing to the man's words, when he paused. "When was this?" he asked.

"In the hall when it first happened. I ca with Aethersage and t you right after—" Windborn paused suddenly, his eyes widening slowly. "Actually, never mind. You should leave now."

He began hurriedly gesturing for Alex to leave.

Alex turned around, still confused. He began to walk out, but three steps in, he turned around. "What do you an, Brother Windborn? We didn't et until long afterward."

"Yes, yes. I misrembered. Please, I am tired now. I wish to rest," Windborn said.

Alex looked toward the Divinity, who didn't understand the situation at all.

"Brother Windborn, the one who got into the drama back then was sister Killersky," Alex said. "Do you know what happened to her?"

Windborn frowned. "Please, leave."

Alex found the overall situation very strange. "I won't leave until you tell why you think you're Killersky."

The Divinity moved in front of Alex, having noticed the strangeness of the situation himself. He tried to figure out what the two were talking about, but it was not so easy.

Windborn grimaced and began looking around the courtyard, trying to find a way out of the situation.

Alex whispered to the Divinity next. "Senior, sothing is wrong with that man. He thinks he is soone else, a participant we believe to be dead. You should question him and find out more about the situation."

The Divinity nodded. "Junior, I will need to ask you a few questions. Please co with ."

Windborn took a step back, his eyes moving all around, trying to find a way to get out of the situation. But he knew he had been found. There was no way out.

So, he just smiled. "Wow, I can't believe I gave myself away so easily."

The Divinity captured Windborn with his aura, stopping him from doing anything, even using his Spirit at that mont. He turned back toward Alex. "Will you return with ? I can't leave you alone."

Alex nodded. "Let's go, Senior. I wish to find out more myself."

"No need," Windborn said. "You win, Dawnblade. I have no one else to choose. You win."

Alex frowned. "I don't need your pin anymore. I need answers."

Windborn struggled with the aura around him, but he smiled nonetheless. "You'll get sothing much better."

The Divinity was about to pull Windborn along with him when he sensed a fluctuation in the aura around him. His eyes widened in shock as he let go of Windborn and used all of his powers to try and protect Alex.

"Run!" he shouted re monts before the world around him turned white at once as a storm of snowflakes spun around them, placing all three in so sort of ice do.

He had made a mistake. There was soone else in the courtyard. Soone far stronger.

The man could only watch in awe and horror as soone clearly placed their domain around them.

Alex acted the mont he heard the man shout, but he found himself unable to teleport. The space around him did not follow his commands when he tried to use it. It was as though everything within the ice do was under the control of soone else.

Alex felt the coldness creep into him. The ice do rained with soft snowflakes as it covered the area in a thick layer. Like a winter snowfall, it covered almost everything the eyes could see.

Alex could feel the coldness trying to lock him into place, but he knew he needed to act. He used his Spirit Reversal technique and found his Qi drain at an unbelievable speed.

It was faster than the ti when the Poison God was angry. He stopped, for if he hadn't, he would run out of Qi in the next twenty seconds.

The whiteness of the snow made for a perfect backdrop for two dark-clothed figures who walked in through the do.

Alex did everything he could to alert the others about what was happening. And yet, he found nothing connecting him to the outside world.

Scared, he looked at the two figures who wore dark robes and had a feminine shape to them. He realized a mont later that they were the sa won who had been sitting above Windborn in the audience seats. He had noticed them for a mont before his interview began but had forgotten all about it until now.

"Who are you?" the man guarding Alex spoke with grit. He could feel the power of the taller woman in front of him. Still, he had to do what he had vowed to do. He had to protect Alex.

"I'm sorry," Windborn spoke toward the two won, seemingly unaffected by the cold. "I ssed up, but he is a good candidate."

The taller woman lifted her hand to the side; snowflakes gathered onto her hand, forming an ice sword. "Go help him. I'll take care of the obstacle."

The shorter veiled woman nodded curtly and moved away from the taller one, moving toward Alex while avoiding the guard.

"Where were you hiding? There were no formations running," the man asked, readying to go into action. He brought out a large brush to fight with and was about to bring sothing else out, but it was too late.

His body froze, unable to move at all.

The veiled woman then spoke in a cold voice. "May the goddess's rcy follow you to the afterlife."

The falling snow crystallized around the man, turning into dozens of swords made of ice. The man attempted to fight back, but there was nothing he could do. The difference in their strength was far too big.

The swords fell into him, striking him from every direction. One by one, they all stabbed him. The man fell onto the snow below him, staining it red as life left his body.

And just as easily, a Divinity was dead.
