Alex's bed was brought to the sunlight by soone, where he was made to lie and rest. He had to argue in a language they could not speak for him to make them do that.
Outside, he would be willing to rest so he could look and learn from the tribe. Before he could do anything else that was urgent to him, he needed to do one thing.
Alex needed to understand these people.
It was interesting to finally et a group of people that did not speak the sa language as everyone else. He had t people whose written language was sothing else, but speech was always the sa in any world.
Except it seed to be different here.
It was quite an interesting situation because it pointed to sothing that was common in every other world but did not seem to be present in this world.
The reason why every world, be it human, beast, or demon, spoke the sa language was because they were forced to learn the sa language. One could try and change that language to beco sothing else, but with enough ti, the language would drift back to the sa language.
That was because there was an influence on everyone to learn the sa language—an influence made by Heaven.
It was the reason why, despite all species having a different written language, they spoke the sa. It was why when a beast entered the Saint realm or when a plant beca a human after entering the Immortal realm, they would imdiately know what language to speak.
It was because Heaven gave them that knowledge upon reaching those realms.
So the sole reason why soone would speak a language different from the common language was simple and yet strangely terrifying to think about.
There was no Heaven in Hell.
It was only a hypothesis at this point since Alex had no way of testing to see if there was a Heaven or not, but he did believe he was correct.
The only way he could think of to test such a thing would be to use his Dao. When using Dao, one didn't just use the Qi in their body to make sothing happen, but the Heaven also helped externally with it.
If he were to try using his Dao without Qi and wasn't aided from outside, he couldn't be sure if it was due to the lack of Heaven or due to the lack of Qi. He needed to bring as many paraters to baseline before testing such a hypothesis.
Since that wasn't happening anyti soon, Alex instead lay on his bed and watched the people go about their day. He could hear them speak, so he caught the common words from ti to ti.
Alex finally got to see what the n did. Early in the morning, they had gone up the mountain, gathering as many fruits and herbs as they could from there before returning.
It was still morning when they ca back. After they were back, they left the items with the won for them to deal with, while they began training with each other right in the open.
Alex saw their weapon of choice. It was a wooden harpoon with a sharp stone tip. Curious, he looked around the village with a new perspective. Looking all around, he noticed sothing strange.
'No tal,' he thought.
The only tal he had seen until that point was the chief's knife.
'Huh, do they do everything with stones and sticks then?'
After so ti passed, two people walked up to him.
One was an older woman with dark hair and a face that would be considered beautiful by mortal standards. The other one was a girl, seemingly her daughter. The older woman smiled, handing over the bowl of food she had brought.
Alex got up and took the bowl. Looking inside, he saw a pasty white soup with bits of fish at and so greens floating around.
Alex took the wooden spoon and stirred the food around. 'So unappetizing,' he thought, but his stomach still rumbled at the sll.
In the lack of Qi, his stomach was ravenous with hunger. Alex could only obey its commands and eat what was given.
This ti around, Alex dared not turn the food into Qi. The Qi he got from it would barely be enough, and he wanted to fill his stomach so he wouldn't feel so hungry all the ti.
As the soup slowly settled in his stomach, Alex finally felt relieved. He thanked the two, not that they would understand him, but they still smiled.
The older woman returned with the bowl after feeding him, but the girl remained. She looked to be barely a teen, still with so baby fat around her face.
She leaned against his tiny bed and asked him sothing.
"I'm sorry, miss, but I don't understand anything you're saying," Alex said, finding it funny that she might reply the sa thing back to him.
The young girl, however, surprised him.
She paused for a minute, looking straight into his eyes before saying, "Center language."
Alex was taken aback for a mont. He understood what she ant. "Center Language? I understand that. Keep going," he said, nodding.
The girl quickly got up and ran away.
Alex wanted to speak with her so more, but the young girl was rather fast. Actually, trendously fast for soone from whom he didn't sense any cultivation base.
'What? Is she physically gifted or sothing?' Alex wondered. However, that seed to not be true. Now that he paid more attention to the people around him, he recognized signs of everyone being physically capable.
'Wait, is this like the Wasteland in the Southern Continent?' Alex wondered. 'Is everyone here a Body Cultivator?'
As he looked around to see how strong they all were, the young girl from before returned to him. Only, she wasn't alone this ti around. The young girl had brought an old woman with a very wrinkled face that seed barely capable of walking.
The girl said sothing to this old woman, who looked at Alex and asked,
"Are you desert person?"
