Chapter 2750: Save My Soul
It was a lot of information to process for Alex. Hearing about the death of the Artifact God and the birth of Godslayer was not sothing he had expected out of this day, but he didn’t complain.
He still wanted to learn more; however, there were other questions burning through him at the mont.
He looked at his Origins in the distance, the single orb that could split into 8 similarly illuminating orbs.
“So… previously, you wanted the spirit part of you to join my Origin and survive that way, is that correct?” Alex asked.
“That was my plan,” Godslayer said. “Albeit the chances of that succeeding weren’t a lot for my personal survival.”
Alex nodded. “But now you’ve changed that plan. Now you want the soul part of you to beco my Origin.”
“Not exactly,” Godslayer said. “It is not possible to make my soul a part of your Origin.”
Alex raised an eyebrow. “It’s not?” he asked.
“Creations are by definition a manifestation of your Soul. To try and cram my soul into your Origin would’ve been to cram my soul into you. We would be at conflict, and one of us would’ve won. Considering the advantage you would’ve had, no doubt my soul would be the one that would be destroyed.”
Alex raised an eyebrow. He had never really thought of Creations that way, but now that he heard about it, it did make sense. He had learned about people who were spiritually wounded after their Creations were wounded.
A destroyed Creation usually led to a Divinity’s death as well.
That was part of the reason why Independent Creations —Creations that could form outside of one’s body like a sword or a shield— were considered so risky.
They were objects that carried the fully spiritual might of a Divinity and could be used by soone else. And at the sa ti, if it was wounded, the Divinity would be wounded too.
Most of the Creations that Alex wanted to make were part of this category as well. His idea for the Sun, the sword, the fla, the pill; all of them fell under this category.
It was a cause for caution, but not a cause for worry. To be strong enough to hurt a Creation ant the person was strong enough to kill the Divinity. At that point, nothing mattered.
A thought ca to Alex just then.
“Wait, souls can’t be placed into an Origin, but spirits can?” he asked.
“I am not sure,” Godslayer said. “A weapon spirit isn’t inherently in conflict with a human soul, so as long as you allowed to take over a part of your soul, it might have worked. Again, emphasis on the ‘might’. As I’ve been saying, it was a very risky gamble.”
Alex nodded as that made sense to him. “So you’re not using my Origin to fill it with your soul. So what are you using it for?”
“Everything else,” Godslayer said. “Everything that makes , .”
Alex frowned. “Do you an the Death and Darkness elents?” he asked. “Would I not be corrupted too?”
Godslayer fell silent for a long ti.
“Will I?” Alex asked again.
“I don’t know,” Godslayer answered truthfully. “While those two elents are elents of corruption, I do not think they will affect you. Just like they aren’t affecting right now.”
Alex thought for a bit. “What has changed? What’s different between the elents that were present when you made the blade, and the elents that you have right now?”
“Control,” Godslayer said. “Corruption starts when you lose control. I had lost control for all my life, right until you stole from the White Tiger’s treasury and removed it all. Once I gained control, once I wanted to control it, it hasn’t failed at all.”
Alex could see Godslayer’s point. Even in the worst of situations when fighting the Sword God himself, Godslayer wasn’t corrupted. He was very obsessed with killing the Sword God, but never was he so corrupted that he attacked anyone else.
In fact, he had been sober enough to talk with his own disciple.
“Will I be able to control it?” Alex asked.
“I have been watching you for all this ti. The Yang you use is far more potent than any I’ve ever seen. And Yang is a natural enemy of both Death and Darkness. If there’s anyone in this world that can control it, it is you.”
Alex felt a sense of satisfaction in hearing Godslayer say that.
“Besides, I’m not just talking about Death and Darkness. What I’ll be imprinting onto your Origin is more than that. I’m talking about my techniques, my experience, and most importantly, what I do not wish to disappear the most: my mories.”
The understanding of what Godslayer had just said sent chills down Alex’s spine. “Wait… your mories. You don’t an…”
“I do,” Godslayer said. “All of the mories of , Steelmind, the Artifact God. I wish for them all to be saved through your Origin.”
Alex’s breath caught. “But, wouldn’t that make it the sa as an Inheritance?”
Godslayer paused for a second and laughed. “It would, wouldn’t it?” he asked before laughing so more. “So be it. You have helped all this ti, so if anyone deserves those mories, it’s you. Will you accept it, the Inheritance of the Artifact God?”
There was not a chance in Hell Alex would ever refuse such an opportunity.
“Yes. YES!” he shouted.
Godslayer laughed again. “Alright, calm down. It won’t be happening for so ti. You still need to reach the Immortal Transcendent realm before we do anything at all.”
“Right,” Alex said. “I’m already close to the Immortal Origin 5th realm, so it won’t be long before I reach that realm. After that, I can cultivate with very little breaks and break through the rest of the realms.”
“Really?” Godslayer asked in surprise. “Last I rember seeing, you were about to be sent to Hell. You shouldn’t have been able to cultivate there. Did they not do that?”
“Right…” Alex rembered. “There’s a lot I need to tell you too.”
