Chapter 2758: Last Extolite
Alex arrived at the Last Extolite sect that ford at the basin of a large mountain to the south with greenery covering a lot of the land. They lay right at the edge of Northsword, allowing for fresh water to be used for irrigation whenever they wanted.
Alex’s arrival didn’t go unnoticed. His unusually crimson attire stood out among all other sect mbers, despite the fact that their robes were red in color to begin with.
The guards gave curious looks as they watched him approach their sect.
“I’m looking for fighters,” Alex said as he brought out his sword and the jar of Elixir. “Find soone in your sect that can defeat , and I’ll hand over this jar of Elixir.”
The guards were confused at first, simply taking his words as a joke. They tried to shoo him away. When Alex didn’t leave, they pushed him.
Alex didn’t budge.
Their eyes grew fearful. Before they could do anything else, Alex grabbed one of them by the neck and pulled him close.
“Find soone strong and bring them to .”
He threw him away.
The guard went running away inside to relay Alex’s ssage while the other one remained by his side, quivering in fear at who they had offended.
Alex didn’t give the guard another glance and simply walked away from the gate to wait for the people to co in. A small crowd of watchers had already ford from the small commotion alone, which would only grow as ti went on.
A man rushed outside, looking furious as a wild animal.
“Who dares cause trouble in front of our sect?” the man demanded out loud and looked around until he found Alex.
Alex stood up, still holding his sword. “Are you the sect leader of this sect, or the grand elder?” he asked casually.
“I am an elder of this sect,” the man said. “Who are you?”
“Just a traveler looking to fight soone strong. Are you the strongest in this sect?” he asked.
“I asked you for your na,” the man said. “Give your na. Who are you to cause trouble?”
Alex sighed. “Fine, just co. If you’re strong enough, I’ll give you the elixir.”
As Alex raised his sword, the man seed utterly offended by the fact that Alex had practically ignored each one of his questions. He brought out his spear and charged for Alex.
Alex got on the defensive, fighting the spear with his sword. He maintained just his Sword Intent in order to fight this man, but he quickly realized just how absurdly weak this man was.
His physical strength was only around the early stages of the Immortal Transcendent realm. That was about how strong Alex’s Sword Intent was as well. Fighting this man would bring him no progress at all.
The man stabbed him with his spear, but Alex simply brought his sword in between, stopping the man’s spear jab with the flat side of his blade. He bore a bored expression as he sighed.
“I wanted soone stronger,” Alex said and swung his sword. The spear flipped out of the man’s hands, while his entire body was blown backward.
The man remained stunned for a while, wondering what had just happened. His spear landed a second later behind him, bringing nothing but fear in his mind. He gulped as he stared at Alex who now held his sword straight at him.
Was he going to die here?
Alex brought down his sword. “Go bring soone stronger,” he said and gestured the man to leave.
The man had the honor of a warrior, but he wasn’t stupid. He knew he could not win this battle, so he walked away to get soone stronger.
Alex waited for a while before the next person arrived — a taller man with larger body mass than the regular dwellers of Hell.
He ca with a sword, his choice of weapon.
Alex asked the newcor the sa question he had asked the other man. And yet, the answer remained the sa.
This man wasn’t either the sect leader or the grand elder.
Alex frowned for a mont. “Are you the strongest here then?” he asked the man.
“I’m stronger than the elder you beat,” the man said. “You’ve humiliated soone belonging to our sect. For that, you will be punished here.”
Alex sighed and simply gestured to the man to start.
The man burst into speed, charging for Alex with his sword. As he arrived next to Alex, he swung down with his blade.
Alex once again got into a defensive stance and stopped the incoming swing. To his surprise, the man was stronger than the other one he had fought. If nothing, his strength was overall superior to what Alex could get with just his Sword Intent alone.
It didn’t feel like he was the strongest out here. There were still people that stood over him in rank and power no doubt.
Still, Alex found it satisfying to just fight for now. He didn’t need to go for the strongest right from the start. He could slowly make his way up in rank. So, he swung his sword freely and fought the man with the sword.
It was a while before the man started slowing down. After constant movent, swings, and fighting, he was beginning to tire, his muscles giving up on him. Beads of sweat rolled down his forehead, but he continued fighting as he could not give up now.
However, as more ti passed, the man dreaded what was happening.
Alex had yet to show a single sign of fatigue. The man simply could not imagine how he could fight for so long without slowing down.
In the end, he gave up. He could not continue.
Alex held his blade and nodded. “Go bring soone stronger.”
The man didn’t have to. After such a long battle, the sect leader and the important elders had already arrived to see what the commotion was about. Upon hearing Alex’s claim about giving them Elixir if they were to beat him, there were plenty of people that were willing to fight him now.
A woman stepped forward this ti, her eyes narrow with a curious look.
Alex watched her approach him.
“Are you the sect leader?” he asked.
“I’m his wife,” she said. “Do you give elixir to anyone who beats you?”
Alex nodded.
“Why should I believe that you have Elixir with you?” the woman asked.
Alex raised an eyebrow. No one else had questioned him yet, even though they should have. They mostly assud him to have what he claid to have, since that was the better scenario for them.
“You don’t have to believe ,” Alex said. “But you should be able to tell how strong I am, and how there’s not many ways I could have gotten this strong.”
The woman didn’t answer, but her narrowing eyes were enough. She gave a thoughtful look and nodded. “I’ll choose to believe you then.”
She brought out a spear from her storage bag.
Alex frowned for a mont. He tried to locate the storage bag, but he couldn’t.
‘Is she…’
“I shall start!” the woman spoke and dashed for him with incredible speed.
Alex blocked the spear, but he felt the force behind the attack. A smile ford on his face.
He was fighting an Immortal.
