As the people walked into the room, Alex could already tell he was in trouble. He saw different emotions in each of the people that walked in; so angry, so concerned, so worried.
The leader walked in after everyone, a stern look on his face.
"Were you trying to kill the witness?" he asked. "I had almost believed your story too."
"I wasn’t trying to kill the witness," Alex said. "I rely wanted to learn more about who it was that wanted to bla for that sect’s massacre."
Alex couldn’t figure out how these people had realized Whisker was in that room. As far as he knew, Whisker was far too sneaky to be caught by just anyone, especially soone from Hell.
The leader looked at Alex with a disappointed look as he shook his head.
"Your lies won’t work on us, criminal," the other man with a narrow face said. "Attempting to kill the witness. That’s going to be another one of your charges."
Alex gave a frustrated look. "I was not trying to kill the witness. I only wanted answers. If I wanted to kill him, it would’ve happened already."
The leader showed no reaction at all. "Keep him company until we reach the sect. I will see if we can be faster."
"Yes, senior," the rest said.
Once the leader left, the remaining people turned toward Alex and began talking among themselves.
"I can’t believe he tried to kill the witness."
"I was nearly duped by his words with the leader. I was sure he hadn’t done it."
"How did that mouse know what to do? I wonder if we’ll learn how to ta beasts soon."
Alex stared at the n that talked as if he weren’t even present.
"What?" the man with the narrow face asked. "Do you not like what you hear? Then you shouldn’t have tried to kill the witness."
"I told you, I didn’t."
"Of course," the man said in a mocking voice. "I’ll believe you because you. Why wouldn’t I believe in a man who impersonates being part of my sect. Being covered in whatever fake blood that is helps your cause even more."
Alex understood there was nothing he could tell the man that would help him here. He had lost whatever little trust he had ford with this group. Now, all he could do was hope this small incident didn’t cause him any trouble with the sect elders themselves.
"You look angry. Are you angry?" the man continued. "Do you want to kill us too, like you killed all those people? Why stop at just the witness? Kill us too. Get rid of all evidence. That works perfectly for you, doesn’t it?"
Alex really was getting angry. The man was up in his face for no reason other than the fact that he truly hated him.
"What is it that you want from ?" Alex asked. "Are you trying to goad into attacking you? Do you want to start a fight so you can kill ?"
The man smirked. "I can tell you are raring to fight us. So, co on. Let’s fight."
Alex didn’t answer.
"What? You’re suddenly a pacifist now?" the man asked. "I’m sure you want to get out of those ropes. Co, let’s fight."
"Brother Jian... you shouldn’t..." one of the others attempted to stop the man.
"Don’t worry, I’m just testing him. It’s not like he can do anything anyway," he said before turning to Alex again. "Isn’t that right, you b—"

Alex wasn’t sure what had happened.
One mont, he was suppressing his anger as much as he could. And in the next mont, he was rolling down a sand dune, with many other pieces of the ship crashing down alongside him.
Alex broke through the ropes that bound him and skidded down the sand until he ca to a stop at the bottom. He looked around at the situation and saw many others coming down just like him.
Only, they were all dead, their bodies cut in half at weird angles.
Alex imdiately brought out his sword and raised it, ready to fight whatever threat had co. When he did, he saw his own arms. The blood armor that should have been around his arm was gone.
In fact, half his body was missing clothes entirely, cut at a diagonal angle.
Alex’s eyes widened. ’I died?’
Before he could think anything else, he saw movent before him. He got ready to fight, but it was soone else that had co out of the wreckage.
The narrow-faced man pulled himself out of the sand, holding onto his left side that was completely missing. His shoulder, along with a chunk of the flesh on his chest, had been cut off.
He was so delirious in pain that he hadn’t even noticed what had happened to him. He looked around for a while, thoughts slowly returning to his eyes. His gaze landed on Alex and then behind him.
Panic filled him.
"Leader!" he shouted, his eyes wide.
Alex turned around. The leader of this group, the short man that had been reasonable this whole ti, lay dead behind him, cut in half.
He wasn’t the only one. Several other n lay all around the sand, dead. Only a few had survived, but they too were wounded. Each one of them had parts of their body missing.
"You... you attacked us," the narrow-faced man said. "You really attacked us."
He looked around and saw his dead comrades. The possibility that he could kill soone who had just killed so many of them at once, on top of their leader, was none whatsoever in his mind.
Without any other thought, he turned around and flew away as fast as he could.
After so much talk, the man hadn’t wanted to fight.
Alex looked around, seeing many of the others that were picking themselves back up. They looked toward Alex, their eyes fearful.
But they seed to understand that it couldn’t have been Alex who did this, so they looked around for the source of this trouble.
And they saw her at the top of the sand dune.
They saw Death.
