The woman hesitated at first, considering she didn’t know who Alex was. But after a bit of persuasion from Alex, she gave in and let him check on her child.

Alex quickly grabbed the toddler’s wrist and checked his body. Whisker used his senses at the sa ti, giving Alex twice the amount of information regarding what was going on in the toddler’s body.

He opened his eyes and looked toward the mother. "Do you happen to live close to where they keep the Sunhearts?" he asked.

The woman raised her eyebrows. "Y-yes," she said quickly. "How did you know?"

"Your child has a Yang constitution, so keeping him around Yin all the ti is making him sick," he explained. He watched the mother, hoping she understood what he ant, but it appeared she didn’t.

"What’s Yang?" she asked.

"Your child needs the day’s heat more than he needs coldness," Alex explained. "Don’t keep him around the Sunhearts all too much as they will drag away all the heat. If you can’t do that, try keeping a few decaying Sunhearts around your house, just for the child."

The woman seed surprised by his explanation. "Would sothing so simple work?" she asked.

"It will," Alex said. "In fact, I should be able to do sothing for you right now."

Alex placed his hand on the child’s back and poured the mildest of Yang energy into his body. The Yang easily overpowered the Yin that had gathered in his body, allowing Alex to heal the child easily.

The young toddler who seed to be pale in the face and had no energy started crying, asking for food.

The woman’s face glowed up with a smile, seeing her child get back to health so quickly.

"He’s... he’s really okay," she said in surprise. "You healed my son. Thank you, stranger."

The others were surprised by Alex’s actions as well, and began asking him questions on how he did what he did. Alex explained again that he was a healer, and everyone began asking him for help.

Alex watched the people who had no expectations of paying him for his help. They grew up knowing very little about the idea of a transactional nature of life led by the other people.

He quite liked their way, helping others without expecting anything back. It went in line with the first Alchemy God’s belief as well, which Alex had always wanted to employ.

Alex began helping them right outside of the tent. He brought out pills for those that needed it, and simply gave directions on what to do and not to do for those that didn’t have any major injuries.

It wasn’t long before word spread of what he could do and many people ca by to have him look at their injuries as well. When Alex began handing out pills that could heal amputated limbs, that was when they truly regarded him as more than just a stranger.

The chief of the Dullshade tribe invited Alex to his own ho later that night, asking him to stay around for a al. He talked with Alex, wanting to learn about where he had co from and how he was so good at it all.

Alex gave away the barest of information since he didn’t want too many questions at the mont. He asked his own questions, trying to see if they could tell him what he wanted to know.

"Death? Of course we know Death. Who wouldn’t?" the chief said. "Why do you ask about her?"

"Do you happen to know when you’ve last seen her?" Alex asked the man.

"Perhaps a few years ago," the chief said. "Not recently at least."

"Maybe one of your people saw her recently? Could you ask them?"

The chief shook his head. "If soone saw Death, they would’ve alerted the tribe already. Being able to see Death and co back alive is no small matter to our people. You would still be hearing about the warrior for quite so ti."

Alex feared that was true. In that case, Death hadn’t co by here.

"I see. Thank you for your hospitality, but I should leave soon."

The chief tried to make Alex stay, but Alex had no intention to. He had healed those that needed help, and gotten the information he required. He left behind a few jars of pastes to give to those that needed it desperately and left the Dullshade village.

Alex went back to the location where he had last died and Death had disappeared from. She would have gone straight in any direction from here, so he needed to start searching again.

Alex went back and forth in all directions throughout the night, even letting Whisker go on his own to speed up his search. However, even after hours of searching through the night, he found no hints at all.

The desert covered her tracks so easily that Alex simply could not find her at all.

However, Whisker had an advantage. He could sll things in the air that even normal beasts could not.

"Brother, I found a spot where many beasts have died recently. The sll of blood is thick there," Whisker said. "I don’t know if that woman went through there or not, but it’s possible."

Alex had no choice but to search there. He had no other avenue to search for her.

Alex headed in that direction, which went parallel to the periter of the core region of hell. He searched for corpses along the way, but he didn’t find any.

But Whisker did sense more blood along the way, so they continued.

After traveling for so ti, they ca across another settlent. If Alex’s initial assessnt about Death not going toward locations with human settlent was correct, then she wouldn’t have gone here at all.

However, he needed to make sure he was correct. And more so than that, he needed to find out whether or not they had seen Death do anything within the past few days.

With that thought, Alex flew down in hopes of finding out where Death had gone.
