Chapter 2805: Tears
While following Death’s trail, Alex and the old man arrived at another village where they decided to stay for the night. The old man spent so ti helping the others with any formation they may have needed.
Alex also went around treating any sick or wounded in the village.
At night, the old man brought out his new cauldron to train his alchemy. He was getting much better at fla control after getting used to his Fire spiritual root, so he was quite motivated to continue training.
Alex’s lessons were also incredibly easy to understand, which made it far easier for him to learn quickly.
anwhile, Alex had Whisker bring out the Battle Mimicry artifact. Whisker hadn’t had any chance to play around with the artifact ever since they began searching for Death, so he decided to help him.
Soon, Alex and Whisker were fighting battles with thousands of cultivators at their command, going across deserts, forests, grasslands, tundras, oceans, and whatever other locations they could think of.
Each change in location brought a layer of difficulty for each fighter as they quickly needed to understand the ins and outs of their surroundings before they could take full advantage of them.
Whisker had improved a lot after training with him for a while now, but not enough that he could consistently beat Alex. On average, in every 10 battles, Whisker won 3 tis while Alex won 7 tis.
Alex was in the middle of the 5th ga when he heard noises outside. He focused on the outside for a mont and saw a young man rushing inside.
“Senior!” the young man ca directly to Alex. “We need your help. There are wounded.”
Alex imdiately stopped the battle and put away the headband. “Take .”
He hurriedly left with the young man and arrived at a place at the edge of the village. There was a large crater that had ford there, and n were being brought away from the place.
As Alex watched, he saw many of the n with burnt skin, so missing chunks of flesh.
“What happened?” Alex asked.
“Sun Wraith,” the young man answered. “It ca out of nowhere. Can you do sothing, senior? So of them have horrible burns.”
Alex nodded and went to help them.
He didn’t have anything that could work on burns, so he had to go into his Soul Space and bring out so ingredients that would work on it.
He quickly made so pastes and applied them to the burn wounds. It not only helped bring relief to those in pain, but also regrew flesh that had been burned.
For the ones that were damaged too much, he had to give them healing pills.
All in all, he easily managed to take care of the situation in less than an hour, going through all the dozens of individuals that were hurt. Once done, he t the chief of the village who was in the sa area.
“Is the Sun Wraith gone? Will it co back?” he asked the man.
“It was defeated. It exploded upon defeat, which is what caused all of this,” the man gestured to the wounded n.
Alex nodded. “It doesn’t happen often, does it?” he asked.
“It does not,” the chief answered. “It is rare enough that our warriors were not ready for it. They fought in groups to defeat it, but they were too careless and got burned instead.”
Alex nodded. “You should have them get more training. They should know when to step back when a Sun Wraith is about to die.”
The chief nodded. “I intend to.”
Alex went through the group once again, making sure he hadn’t missed anyone that was seriously injured. The pastes would be good for the parts they were applied to, but if there was an inner wound he had missed, that would be bad.
Once he was done checking through them all, he was finally done.
“I will return. Should sothing co up, feel free to call again. I will be awake.”
“Thank you, sir benefactor.”
Alex left them and returned to the room he had been provided.
“I’m sorry, Whisker. That ended up taking longer than I thought,” he said as he walked in. “We can continue from where we left off, or we can start anoth—”
Alex paused, staring at Whisker’s big watery eyes. They were on the verge of overflowing.
“What?” Alex was confused. “Why are you crying?”
“Brother,” Whisker said in a pitiful voice. “I can’t beat him.”
“Hahaha!” the old man laughed at the sa ti. “This is a fascinating treasure, young man. Why didn’t you tell about it before?”
Alex turned toward the old man, confused for a mont. Then, he saw the headband around his forehead.
“You… were battling?” he asked.
The old man nodded. “I decided to check out what you two were doing this whole ti, and I must say, this is quite fun.”
Alex turned toward Whisker. “Why are you crying?”
“I can’t beat him,” Whisker said.
“That’s no reason to cry.”
“But… but I’ve been practicing for so many years now. I thought I had improved, but…”
Alex frowned. “He beat you?”
Whisker nodded. “Easily.”
Alex walked over and sat next to Whisker. He looked at the old man with a curious look. “Is this not your first ti with the artifact?” he asked. “How are you good enough to defeat Whisker?”
“Oh, I have definitely not seen this before in my life,” the old man said. “But I have seen battle, and this is just one of the many. It was easy as soon as I knew what I was doing.”
Alex narrowed his eyes. “Are you really that good?” he asked.
The old man grinned. “Do you want to test ?”
“Actually, yes,” Alex said.
“Okay,” the old man said. “Start another battle then. We’ll see who is better.”
Alex was fascinated as to what had happened to cause Whisker to cry. He took the headband from Whisker and put it on before activating the artifact.
Then, the two of them were in the middle of a desert battlefield.
