Chapter 2816: The Core
Alex stared at the sea of red sand that had already begun bleeding into where he was. Unlike the outer and inner region of Hell, there was no division between the inner and core region. One bled into the other.
One mont Alex was in the inner region and the next, he had walked into the core.
He was thankful for the lack of beasts coming out to kill him. This close, they were more focused on getting in deeper than they were at attacking ones that walked above them.
Although, Alex guessed it also had sothing to do with his lack of Sunhearts. If he was carrying any at all, there would be a lot more beasts coming out to get him. For now, all of his Sunhearts were with Whisker, who was dead and reforming in his Beast Space.
Alex looked back at Death who showed no resistance to being pulled.
He still questioned why she was coming with him, why she didn’t just kill him. He wanted answers too, but now was not the ti for that. Fate had given him a chance to save her and hopefully bring her back to sanity.
And after that, she would hopefully help him escape Hell.
The core region of Hell, aside from its red sand, also had a definite increase in Yang aura. The heat around here was quite high at the start, much higher than anywhere else.
This was part of the reason why the Hell Emperor had to co all the way here in order to cultivate, as the Yang energy he could draw from here was much higher than anywhere else.
Although, that heat didn’t last very long.
Just an hour after walking into the core region, Alex entered a region that he could only describe as cool. With the sun still sowhere in the sky in the west, the coolness only had one source.
Sunheart.
Alex had finally reached a region where the beasts lay within the sand. There were none at the border, but just a short distance in, they were.
He expected to walk past the beast without alerting it of his arrival, but it appeared he had expected too much from his lack of Sunhearts. The beasts weren’t so logical.
The one underneath the sand erged, spraying sand in every direction.
Alex had heard from many that the beasts in the core region were much stronger, so much so that even the top fighters of the Endless Night sect couldn’t dare to co here alone.
So, he prepared himself for a battle that wouldn’t be easy at all.
However, before the sand had fully cascaded from the newly erged beast, Death already moved. Her hand flashed in a flicker, throwing away sparkles of red crystals into the air, as a slash flew toward the beast.
The beast that erged — a giant shrew — was imdiately cut down in half. It didn’t even have a chance to fully show itself before Death took care of it.
Alex stood there with his sword out and his eyes wide open. He knew Death would react to it, but after all the things he had heard about the beasts in this region, he at least expected her to have a hard ti.
If things were this easy for her, then his plan to drain her ntally by making her fight these beasts wouldn’t work at all.
‘And here I was thinking of doing the sa by just improving my own physical strength,’ Alex thought.
He turned toward the corpse of the shrew and wondered if he should take the Sunheart with him or not. On one hand, he needed sothing to cultivate with. On the other, having a Sunheart would call the other beasts to co attack him.
Before he could make either decision, however, the ground shook. Another beast jumped out of the ground, coming for the one that had died. When it did, Death killed it easily as well.
The two deaths were enough for the rest of the beasts around the region to co pouring out. One after another, beasts from miles and miles away ca rushing toward them. Once they did, Alex had no reason to not take the Sunhearts now.
Death began fighting everything as she always did, and Alex sat in the center of it all, beginning to cultivate his Blood Aura. He saw no reason to waste his ti doing anything else at the mont.
He could maybe watch Death and try to learn from her attacks, but within that chaos, focusing on her would be far too difficult. So, he instead took away so Sunhearts and absorbed the blood aura.
The Blood Aura of the beasts in the core region was far stronger than anything else he had absorbed in Hell. As the blood pooled in that region, Alex’s blood aura grew stronger and stronger.
None of the beasts bothered Alex. Within the massacre, they simply piled on top of him, letting their blood drip down onto him for him to absorb. When Alex felt the energy of the blood in the area had lessened, he moved to another spot.
No matter where he moved, he was never hurt. Death never attacked him, and the beasts could never co for him.
Alex was beginning to beco more and more confused by the situation. Why was Death not attacking him?
Had she really learned to recognize him after seeing his face over and over?
Alex ignored those questions for now and continued to absorb as much blood as he could. The massacre continued for over a day, with more beasts continuing to pile on top. When the beasts were dead, Sun Wraiths ford a day or two later, which Death destroyed with her sword slashes as well.
Even Sun Wraiths weren’t strong enough for her.
During all this ti, Alex freely improved his Blood Aura right until he was at the edge of the Immortal Spirit 8th realm, going into the 9th realm.
A bit more blood and he should be able to. And it didn’t appear he was going to lack that any ti soon.
