Chapter 2877: The Upcoming War

Alex’s face burst out into a smile. He fell to his knees again and bowed. “Thank you, master.”

Bladedance’s eyes perked up. She hadn’t expected to hear him call her ‘master’ so soon.

“I have never taken a disciple, so I don’t know the proper ceremonies that co with it, so I’ll ask you to ignore it as well,” Bladedance said. “So get your head out of the sand. I don’t like soone who is ready to bow before others.”

“I don’t bow before just anybody,” Alex said as he got up, shaking away the sand from his hair. “I only bow to my masters.”

“Masters?” Bladedance’s eyes narrowed. “Multiple?”

Alex smiled. “You would be the fourth one,” he said. “Two of them were from when I was rely starting my cultivation journey. The third is a Divine realm Alchemist by the na of Silvermist. You may have heard of him.”

“I know the na,” she said. “As long as I don’t have to contend with another sword master, I’m fine. That does make want to ask, why did you want to beco my disciple? As I said, I may have taught you what I know even if you only beca a subordinate.”

“I… can’t join a cult,” Alex said. “I can’t join any organization at all. It is an oath I swore.”

“An oath?” Bladedance asked. “Why?”

“Before I beca an Immortal, my cousin ascended and took our family with her. After I ascended, I began searching for them, only to realize just how expensive it was to buy the Interrealm Teleportation tickets. I joined the Blue Silk sect of the Myriad Spirit realm in hopes of earning money for those tickets from there.”

“However, they bought the ticket for instead. They gave it to so I could find my family. Their only criteria was that I would return to them after 2500 years, regardless of whether I succeeded or not, and that I do not join any other sect or organization in the anti.”

Bladedance frowned. “That’s a strict rule.”

“I think it is a fair one. So I try to stick to that oath. Hence, I cannot join your cult, which was why I beca your disciple instead.”

Bladedance nodded slowly. “I see. Once you’ve fulfilled this oath for your sect, you shall join my cult, even if only in na. I cannot have my disciple not be part of my court.”

Alex smiled. “I won’t reject that chance.”

Bladedance thought for a bit, confused about sothing. “I can understand everything, but one. Why didn’t you leave with this cousin of yours? Arrogance? Or did you not know you would end up in different realms?”

“Neither,” Alex said. “We needed to go separately in case there was danger ahead. Both of us hold secrets far too dangerous for us to be together.”

Bladedance got curious. “What dangerous secrets do you hold?” she asked.

Alex paused, unsure if he should answer her or not. “What… are your thoughts on the war?” he asked.

“It’s horrible. What other thoughts would I have?” Bladedance asked. “I had to kill many that didn’t deserve to die. Parts of died that should have still been alive, all because of that war.”

Alex grimaced. “I see. That… was not what I was talking about. But of course, you wouldn’t know.”

Bladedance frowned. “What else are you talking about then?” she asked.

“I wasn’t talking about the war that ended,” Alex said. “I was asking how you felt about the upcoming war instead. But, you probably don’t know about it.”

“Upcoming war? What upcoming war? What the hell are you talking about?” Bladedance asked in a raised voice.

“Master, do you rember what I said about the Sky God’s treasure being stolen?” Alex asked. “The reason why Godslayer ended up in my world. Why I found the Blood God’s Manual, and other various treasures?”

Bladedance frowned. “Go on.”

“Since the war has ended for a long ti, people have noticed the lack of Qi. During the war, the Qi was abundant, because death was abundant. However, now, they see that there is not enough Qi in the world. They want that ti of the past back.”

“It’s not happening,” Bladedance said. “We ended the war. We have treaties in place for it. We ford a treaty with beasts, and a treaty with—”

She paused.

The War Deterrent Treaty was ford to deter thoughts of war from the public. The treasures from every faction and sect were brought together in one place so that their greatest treasures would be held captive should they ever have thoughts of war again.

It was ant to deter war, so how were they having thoughts of it again?

“Those items were stolen. Why?” she asked.

“The senior who stole them told that the people were beginning to use the World Tree’s seed as a reason to persuade others to start war. They wanted to find information about how to make the seed grow. Should the seed grow, they would have the Qi they needed. That was their argunt, but it was clear that they still wanted more.”

“And?” Bladedance asked.

“The senior decided to steal the World Tree’s seed. If there was no seed, they could not make their argunt. But stuff happened, and he ended up taking more than he wanted to. He teleported to our world, and that’s how everything ended up in this world.”

Bladedance narrowed her eyes. “So? Did the idea of war stop just with that? It would be good if it did, but I do not believe it is so easily done,” she said. “And I do not understand why you are talking about this now. What does this have to do with why you couldn’t ascend with your cousin?”

“Because the senior went along with my cousin. He would be sought after, and if he was found, we would be searched as well,” Alex said.

“So? Your family will still be searched, will they not? Why abandon them?” she asked.

“Because even if they are all searched, they cannot get what they need to start the war,” Alex said. “For I have the World Tree.”
