Chapter 2899: Scattered Debris

The space inside the Void wasn’t the sa as the space outside. Even if one remained stationary, the Void itself would’ve moved around them so much that they would be in a completely different location, moving leagues away from where they were before.

And it wasn’t straightforward either. Space twisted and turned, extended and shrunk. Ti did the sa, moving in a manner that defied common understanding of its flow.

And the last thing that persisted throughout it was gravity.

It wasn’t gravity that existed, but rather its aura. It did not pull one in a certain direction like it did to the aura of space and ti.

Alex moved with his fingers on the pulse of this world, his mind analyzing each change. As he moved away from Hell, he felt the gravitational aura from all directions.

It ca from just one, and not as strong as Hell. But then, he was further away from this world, so he had to move closer.

Alex weaved through the Void, finding regions that were safe to travel through, avoiding ones that would destroy him. As he traveled, he felt the gravity increase very slowly.

Whatever the closest world was, it couldn’t be that large based on the aura Alex perceived.

But any world was better than the Void, so Alex went toward it.

He could tell ti was passing. To him, it only felt like no more than half a day had passed since he left Hell, but in reality nearly a year had already passed.

There were tis when he had to move through regions with slowed-down ti that had taken up so much ti. If he was better, he would probably have been able to avoid those, but sadly he could not.

As his journey continued, Alex got closer and closer to this world, feeling the gravity slowly increase. There would surely co a point where the gravity would stop increasing, at which point he would know that he had arrived at the world.

However, such a thing never happened. As he continued, the gravity continued increasing more and more. Another day had passed, this ti spanning only half a month, before Alex stopped.

The gravity continued to increase, and this ti had gotten stronger than what was at Hell itself.

He had been so focused on navigating this world and coming out of it that he had missed the simplest of facts.

The greatest source of gravity in his world was none other than the sun.

‘Shit!’ Alex thought. ‘I’m moving toward the sun.’

It would have been terrible had he realized that any later. If he had opened a way back outside right there, he would’ve likely been killed instantly by the heat of the sun.

His current cultivation base would’ve been unable to protect him in any manner.

Relieved, Alex began moving away from the sun. However, it wasn’t as easy as it was coming here. Most space and ti around him was warped toward the sun, so finding routes outside of it was tedious.

Still, there were routes. Not the best kind, but they were routes.

Alex traveled 5 years in what felt like no more than 2 hours.

It was bad, but at least he had made it away from the sun, so space and ti would soon be kinder.

Alex found another route before him and moved toward it. However, before he reached there, sothing caught his attention.

His senses had touched onto sothing. Sothing physical. He turned around and saw sothing floating toward him.

A tree.

It was an ordinary tree by every asure, but the fact that it was here surprised Alex. He moved toward it to check on it, but before he could reach it, his senses saw sothing else.

More objects.

Rocks appeared, followed by dirt, floating furniture, cups, plates, more trees. It was as though a hurricane had destroyed a land, throwing everything into a lake nearby—only that lake was the Void itself.

“What?” Alex thought, confused.

His confusion only deepened when he saw the next thing that arrived.

People.

Not just one or two, but hundreds.

Alex quickly moved toward them. He didn’t know what was happening, but he was far too curious to not approach.

As he got closer, he felt a faint cultivation base from everyone. Barely 3 of them were Immortal, and not a single one high in cultivation base either.

Alex scanned them with his senses, and when he realized what was happening, his eyes widened in shock.

‘How long have they been this way?’ he thought in wonder. Despite being cultivators, they were all lacking in energy. More than a dozen were already dead.

The rest were at death’s door.

Had Alex not found them right now, they would’ve likely died as well.

‘They can’t survive here,’ he thought. ‘This world has no air, no water, no sun. These poor people.’

Without any more thought, Alex began taking these people and placing them into his Soul Space. Whisker and the rest were surprised to hear there were people here, but given the lack of information, they couldn’t learn any more.

“Help them recover, Whisker,” Alex told the mouse. “I’ll check on them once I’m out of here.”

Alex took his mind away from his Soul Space and focused on the world outside. It was ti to leave.

However, before he did, his eyes landed on sothing that slowly floated toward him. It was covered fully in dirt, but sohow he could tell it was an artifact.

Alex grabbed the rectangular object and dusted its surface.

As he did, the bright red surface of the object made itself present to Alex, with a circle at the center depicting a single ‘ ’ sign in bright green color.

The mont Alex saw it, mories of this object flashed in his mind—mories that did not belong to him.

He saw himself hiding this object in the ground. He saw an artifact that opened a Voidgate. He saw himself leave the tribal land, entrusting it to the people there.

Alex realized whose mory it was—the Alchemy God.

And looking down at the book, he recognized it for what it was.

One of the Alchemy God’s three treasures.
