Chapter 2909: The Only One Able to Divine
While Bladedance once again lost herself in the stunning things that had happened in relation to her disciple, Bai Jingshen turned toward Alex with sothing concerning he had sensed.
“I must say, I am rather disappointed,” he said. “You took only a single century to beco an Immortal in the lower realm, and yet you have barely made any progress during the rest of the ti. I would consider you to have t with so misfortunes during these years had you not co here with the Sword God herself. Was there a reason why you’ve cultivated so slowly?”
Alex couldn’t help but give out a dejected smile. “My cultivation speed has been rather fast, actually. Perhaps not what you would’ve expected, but close enough,” he said. “Since you’ve asked this question, can I assu you’ve heard nothing about after coming here?”
“Heard sothing about you?” Bai Jingshen asked with a curious look. “Was I supposed to hear sothing?”
“Not supposed to, but considering how big a thing it was, I wondered if more people had heard about it,” Alex said. “Did you know that I won an Alchemy competition? I don’t know if they suppressed the news or not, but I suspect they weren’t able to.”
“You won an Alchemy competition?” Bai Jingshen asked. “Well, I probably shouldn’t be so surprised. Was it a big competition?”
“The biggest of this generation from what I’m told,” Alex said. “Considering you didn’t hear about it, the news must not have traveled far.”
“Human news tends to be ignored in this realm. The beasts, especially our four clans, do not involve themselves with the matters of either humans or demons. In fact, I sotis believe they do not concern themselves with anyone but just themselves, so it is natural that I did not hear anything about it. Still, I cannot imagine that being any explanation to why you were so slow to cultivate.”
“Not an explanation, but the start of one,” Alex said. “During the tournant, one of the human diviners saw a future of mine where they said I would be responsible for destroying the world. There were many gods present back then, and they all sought to kill . But then, she made another divination, revealing that the sa future would co true even if I was killed. So, they chose to send to Hell instead.”
Bai Jingshen frowned for a mont. “Who was this diviner?” he asked.
“So old woman by the na of Starsight,” Alex said. “A mber of a group of seers known as the Fatekeepers.”
“Hmm, that’s strange,” Bai Jingshen said. “I was told no one else would be able to divine anything about you. You should be the source of much chaos for any seer to see anything regarding your future. I wonder how this woman managed to see the order in that chaos.”
Alex thought for a bit. “Is it that hard for soone to divine about ? I’ve heard divinations made for beyond my own consent. I’m sure it’s not that difficult.”
“The divinations you’ve heard until now have all been from the Divination God. Those are all divinations that are bound to co true. Anyone else besides him will have an impossible ti trying to divine you. That is why I say so.”
“The Divination God?” Alex asked. “But… didn’t he leave this world when you left it as well?”
“I thought so too, but it appeared he was dragged back in during the sa event when your ancestors were brought here. After that, he’s been living in the lower realm for all this ti. I heard he talked to you once. He told before he ca here.”
“Talked to ?” Alex asked in surprise.
“The Divination God is here?” Bladedance asked in equal surprise.
“No, I don’t believe the senior is here anymore. He ca here not 3 days after Alex ascended. He had no reason to remain in that realm without him, so he asked for a way out. I used my talisman to send him here. I had to later use Xuan Luhei’s talisman to leave as well.”
Alex found it impossible to believe that the Divination God had been in the lower realm, let alone had talked to him.
“Where? When did he talk to ?” Alex asked.
Bai Jingshen thought for a mont. “He ntioned having talked to you near those wells in the Northern Continent. I believe he said he t a suitable candidate to pass along his talents to as well. That should’ve been your aunt.”
Alex paused for a long mont before the mont from back then resurfaced in his mind.
Back when he had gone to check on the Wells with his aunt for their accuracy of divinations, he had been contacted by a disembodied voice while ti froze all around him.
He rembered talking to the voice and it giving him so weird answers. The man had told him that the reason the Wells were made in the first place was partly because of him. Every prophecy ever told in those wells was for soone involved with him or soone closely related.
He rembered wondering if the man was a human, a beast, or a spirit. And then he rembered the ramblings from back then.
In hindsight, those ramblings were clearly prophecies as well. And as Alex considered that, two of those ramblings stood out to him.
‘She will protect you. Give her the weapon.’
‘Lost from the world, they cannot survive for long there where the sun doesn’t shine. Take them away.’
Alex could imdiately tell one of them was about his master. He had helped bring her soul, the sword, to her, and she had saved him.
The other one was quite surely about the people he had saved from near death in the Void—the place where the sun didn’t shine.
Alex couldn’t believe it. So, all this ti, it had been the Divination God who he had spoken to back then.
That worried him even more now. If the Divination God’s prophecies were to co true without a doubt, what did that an for the one about his death?
