Alex found himself in a strange place.
It felt no different than a spiritual sea, but without the dark clouds or the water underneath. Instead, he hovered in a perpetual space of white.
Out of the corner of his eye, he could see the figure in white robes. He turned, focusing on the figure with black hair. He had seen this figure many tis now, whether it was in the lower realm or once he had arrived here.
He didn’t know when it had started; most likely when he had gone to the other realm where he had lost his mories. He didn’t know what it ant either.
The figure, who he had more or less confird to be none other than the Sun God, finally turned toward him. And yet, he couldn’t see the man.
The Sun God’s face was one that did not register to him. It was like he was in a dream, trying to focus on sothing specific that kept changing the more he looked at it.
When he caught the sharp nose, the eyes beca smaller. When he saw the smaller eyes, the cheeks swelled a little.
Each thing he focused on caused the next thing to change, making it impossible to fully comprehend the features of the Sun God.
The Sun God’s ever-changing lips parted and he spoke.
"That which is broken needs to be fixed. That which is empty needs to be filled. That which is shattered needs to be put together."
The god’s eyes looked directly into Alex.
"This is the furthest we’ve ever gotten. Just one more step and your suffering can end."
"Your destiny awaits you in The Sun’s Talon. Do not reject it."
"Do not reject ."
The world around him flashed bright yellow and disappeared.
Alex awoke to a face full of white fur. "Pearl?" he called out softly.
"Brother, are you awake?" Pearl asked.
"Yes," Alex said, the mories of what had happened slowly returning to him. He got up from Pearl’s body and looked around to see the other 3 White Tigers in a quiet conversation at the corner of the room.
When he got up, all of their eyes turned upon him.
"Are you feeling okay?" Bai Jingshen asked first, coming toward him. "Are you wounded?"
Alex slowly shook his head. "No, I’m fine," he said, his eyes moving toward the patriarch who moved toward him next.
"You are the Sun God," the patriarch said, more in the tone of a surprising statent than a question.
Alex’s spine grew cold at the words, never expecting soone else to say such a thing to him. "N-no," he answered.
"You hold his body, don’t you?" the patriarch asked.
Alex slowly nodded.
"Then you are the Sun God."
Alex didn’t know how he was supposed to argue against that statent. In the first place, was he even wrong?
"I’m sorry I didn’t realize it sooner. I would not have been so daring had I known," the patriarch said. "Jingshen must’ve wanted to suffer, so he did not say anything else either."
"I’ve never experienced what we experienced today, patriarch. If I had, I would’ve let you know," Bai Jingshen said.
"Interesting. That ans your body is still growing," the patriarch said. "You are close to taking on the mantle of the Sun God, but you aren’t there yet."
Alex nodded. The Sun God had said the sa thing.
"Records state that the presence of the Sun God must be spread far and wide, to give hope to those who have lost it in these dire tis," the patriarch said. "But you are not him yet, so I cannot make that decision. Do you wish for the others to learn about you?"
Alex took a mont to take in everything, from constantly being called the Sun God to the patriarch’s changed attitude. He considered the beast’s words for a mont before shaking his head.
"I am not yet the Sun God," he said. He was sure he would most likely only be truly considered the Sun God when he evolved his body to the next stage. "Since I’m not one yet, let’s hold off on letting anyone else know."
"I shall defer to your decision," the patriarch said. "Fulin, co with . We must seek the old records from the library. We need to rember all that has been forgotten. We have to prepare for the best and the worst."
Bai Fulin nodded slowly, glancing at Alex with a few quick looks before walking away with the patriarch.
Once the two were gone with the door firmly shut, Bai Jingshen turned toward Alex with wide eyes. "What the hell was that? What did you do?" he asked.
"What?" Alex turned toward him. "What are you talking about?"
"The thing you did. With our blood. It was so terrifying. I have never once regretted my master giving the blood essence of the sa strength as my progenitor, but today I might have for the first ti."
"Yeah, I’ve never felt that way either, brother. It was as if I was no longer in control of my own body," Pearl said.
"Really?" Alex asked. "I... I don’t know what I did. Or rather, I don’t know if I was even the one who did anything."
Pearl gave a confused look.
"What do you an?" Bai Jingshen asked.
"I... I..." Alex sighed, finding it weird to even say this out loud. "I talked to the Sun God. He was the one who did everything today."
"Huh?"
"The Sun God?"
Alex slowly nodded. "I’ve been seeing flashes of him here and there over the past few weeks, ever since I woke up in the lower realm. He has only ever been a figure that stood at the corner of my eye all this ti, but today, he appeared front and center. He was the one who protected today."
Bai Jingshen frowned. "The Sun God did?"
"Yes," Alex said. "And today, he spoke, telling the sa thing he’s been whispering from ti to ti."
Alex looked at both of them. "I have to go to the Sun’s Talon."
