Alex couldn’t say that he was surprised to be allowed to go on this trip that was mostly ant only for Pearl. At the sa ti, he also couldn’t be entirely surprised that the Patriarch of the White Tiger did little to stop him.

After how their last eting had gone, it was clear that the patriarch was not going to push his luck with him.

Alex left his room with Pearl, eting Bai Jingshen in the hallway outside before walking to the garden at the center of the palace. There, a large group of White Tigers and their family mbers had gathered, waiting for the most important individual among their group.

Their patriarch.

Bai Zhuqiang wasn’t soone they got to see often. The last ti he had been publicly seen at all was at least a few dozen millennia ago. He hadn’t been in closed cultivation the entire ti, but he only ever t with a select group of people, leaving the regular descendants devoid of his presence.

Today, after so many years, they finally got to see him again. And as such, they couldn’t help but wonder what the reason was.

The patriarch walked out of the northern gate and the crowd broke out in a flurry of chants and well wishes. The patriarch turned to the crowd on either side and nodded to them silently, showing almost no emotion.

That simply made him look more enigmatic and a lot more powerful as well.

On either side of the patriarch were two White Tigers, who were then followed by a group of palace guards, each with strengths almost equal to that of many older White Tigers.

Bai Fulin was one of those White Tigers. As for the other one, Alex couldn’t recognize him. He had never seen that one before, but he believed him to be male. He was beginning to understand the gender of the White Tigers based on the minor physiological differences he could see.

"Co on," Bai Jingshen said and walked ahead as the patriarch passed by.

Pearl followed and Alex walked behind him as well. Soon, they all walked just slightly behind Bai Fulin, joining the group.

A wave of murmurs ca from the sides, eyes pointed at the two.

Pearl’s stripe-free body stood out quite a bit among the group, and Alex obviously stood out even more as a human.

He could almost hear the many beasts questioning why a human was joining their patriarch’s group at all. But no one could truly voice their question.

The group passed through the southern hallway and arrived outside at an open path that had been prepared for the patriarch. They walked down even further and soon they were at a teleportation formation.

They teleported out of there, going directly to the edge of the continent, from where they imdiately took another teleportation formation to cross over to the Dragon Continent.

There, a group of Azure Dragons had been waiting for them, which included Qing Zhangru, the Azure Dragon Alex had t a few tis now.

"My greetings, White Tiger patriarch," Qing Zhangru said. "It is my great honor to et you again. I have been appointed to accompany your group to the palace."

"You’ve grown in the ti I haven’t seen you, young Zhangru. How is your father doing? Did he enter closed cultivation?" the patriarch asked.

"He has indeed," Qing Zhangru said. "My deepest thanks for asking."

The patriarch nodded. "Let us not waste any more ti then. Take us away."

The rest of the journey was apparently being done through a ship instead of teleporting directly to the palace. So, they all boarded the ship.

Alex saw a few eyes glancing toward him and Pearl from ti to ti, but none seed hostile, only curious.

The ship took off, and they were notified that it would take a few hours before they arrived, which was surprising to Alex given the distance they had to travel. It should’ve taken days if his calculations were correct.

However, very quickly he realized that sothing was happening that he hadn’t expected.

Pearl perked up slightly, looking around.

"Brother, that’s..."

"Dao of Spatial Contraction," Alex finished. "I see. A few hours is correct."

The ship was sohow employing Spatial Contraction around them, using it to shrink the space before them by multiple folds so that while the overall speed of the ship was the sa, they were technically traveling dozens of tis faster.

"I’ve never seen such a thing," Pearl said. "Have you, grandpa?"

"The dragons have a much greater understanding of space than anyone else I know of, so they have created artifacts and treasures using their knowledge to help themselves," Bai Jingshen said.

"Do you think their knowledge is better than even the Sky God’s? She’s supposed to be the God of Space and Wind." Alex asked.

"I know," Bai Jingshen said. "Makes you wonder, doesn’t it? What if the Sky God’s physique is just the Azure Dragon’s physique but sohow mutated?"

Alex raised an eyebrow in so surprise. "Now that you say that, the Azure Dragons are good at both space and wind too. Do you think she’s better at it than the dragons then?"

"Individually, maybe," Bai Jingshen said. "But there’s only so much she or her predecessors and successors can do by themselves. In comparison, there are hundreds of dragons that have learned all different types of spatial Daos. And all of them have different professions too, so they end up creating much more."

"I see," Alex said. "The dragons are guaranteed to win with their collective effort."

Bai Jingshen nodded.

Pearl said sothing afterward, but Alex couldn’t focus on it. His attention had been imdiately pulled away by a strong Divine Sense that had landed on him, carrying a ssage.

"Can you co over here? I have sothing to talk with you," the ssage said.

Alex turned to the side and saw the White Tiger patriarch sitting at the front of the boat. Wondering why he was being called, he stood up and walked over to et the beast.
