Feng Rinzhou waited for them in a small room with only one seat.
She did not et them in a grand hall or a more imposing environnt, but rather in her own dwelling.
She sat on a massive seat, her wings unfolded to cover her entirely, leaving only her head poking out at the front. She seed half-awake and half in cultivation.
As Alex walked in, her eyes narrowed in on him.
"So, this is the Sun God," she said in barely more than a whisper. "I didn’t expect you to be so young."
Alex bowed deeply. "Thank you for the complint, Matriarch. It is an honor to finally et you."
"Well, if you are truly who you say you are, then the honor is, in fact, mine," the Matriarch said. "Just to be sure, could you prove who you are?"
"Prove that I’m the Sun God?" Alex asked. "I’m afraid I cannot do that on command."
"Oh? But I heard you did sothing when Ningzhu asked you to," the Matriarch said. "Was I mistaken?"
"No, Matriarch. He—or soone—used the Dao of Temporal Stillness. It was a Ti Dao that I even failed to realize imdiately," Ningzhu said.
"I’m sorry, but I cannot do that again," Alex said. He didn’t know how many tis he could call upon the Sun God for help, so he found himself not wanting to try it right now.
"Surely, if you are the reincarnation of the Sun God, you can do so things to prove it, right?" the Matriarch asked.
"There are," Alex said. "I’m not sure it can be considered proof, though."
"Show ," the Matriarch said.
Alex paused for a mont. "Sure."
He thought for a mont and brought out sothing from his Soul Space. It was a small vial, which he tossed toward Ningzhu. "Could you do a favor and check what’s inside, Senior?"
Ningzhu gave him a strange look and opened the vial. Instantly, his eyes widened, his body freezing in panic. He quickly closed the vial, flas erupting from him without delay, burning away even the re waft of whatever had co free from it.
"Ningzhu, what is that?" the Matriarch asked.
"Poison, Matriarch," Ningzhu said. "A rather strong one, too. Likely enough to incapacitate even a Divine Manifestation realm cultivator. Near-fatal for a Divine Creation realm cultivator."
The Matriarch’s eyes narrowed. "Poison?" she asked, unable to see where any of this was going. She turned back toward Alex. "Why have you brought out poison?"
Alex gestured for Ningzhu to hand it back, which the Phoenix did without much thought.
"So you could see what I’m capable of," Alex said as he casually undid the cap and downed the poison in one gulp.
"Human!" the Matriarch shouted, her wings finally raising. Flas trailed from them, imdiately flying toward Alex, surrounding him with healing energy.
Her Divine Sense landed on Alex, trying to locate the poison in his body so she could neutralize it.
However, to her surprise, she had an incredibly strenuous ti doing so.
For so reason, her Divine Sense had to fight through so sort of invisible barrier around his body that seed to push it back. She barely managed to force her way through with so success, but by that ti, it was too late.
"That’s not needed, Matriarch," Alex said without much reaction. The poison had entered his body and had been devoured by it within seconds. Not a single trace of it remained anymore, as everything had turned back into Qi.
Now, that Qi was bulging through his Dantian, trying to force its way out. Alex could only hold onto it for so long before it would be wasted.
Having done this, he needed to cultivate within an hour or two at most.
"As you can see, I am perfectly fine," Alex said, letting the emanating Yang from his body slowly disappear. He tossed the vial back to Ningzhu to confirm that it was empty.
"What... what did you do?" the Matriarch asked.
"Matriarch, it’s empty," Ningzhu said with a harrowed look after checking the vial. The poison inside was completely gone, consud fully by Alex.
Alex smiled and shrugged. "You wanted to see what I could do, didn’t you, Matriarch? As the Sun God, poisons that should kill do not work on at all."
"All poison?" the Matriarch asked in great surprise.
"I cannot say all poison, but a majority no longer affect ," Alex said. "Poisons of that strength at least no longer do."
Ningzhu gulped in shock. Had he been the one to consu that poison, his body would have been wrecked from head to tail, forced to imdiately stop everything and focus entirely on defending himself from its effects.
And yet, an Immortal realm human before him had just consud an entire vial of it and dealt with the aftermath in a matter of seconds.
"You’re immune to most poisons?" the Matriarch asked.
"Not just poisons. Anything my body doesn’t want, I can nullify," Alex said. "That is one of the powers of the Sun God."
The Matriarch narrowed her eyes. "And why can’t I sense you?"
"That is another power of the Sun God," Alex said. "My body emanates a strong enough Yang aura that burns through any and all senses. That is what was happening with you."
"Yang aura," the Matriarch repeated softly with a hint of surprise. "The Sun God is said to be the God of the Sun. The God of Yang. The God of Dayti. So you really might just be him."
Alex nodded.
"Who else knows?" she asked.
"The White Tiger Patriarch," Alex said.
"He does? Why have I not received a ssage about this yet?" she asked with a frown.
"I asked him not to," Alex said quickly, before his eyes narrowed upon noticing sothing. "Matriarch, I was told that the Vermilion Birds believed in the Phoenix Mother more than the Sun God. but, you seem to think of Sun God as the other Heavenly Beasts would. Was I mistaken?"
