Eternal Cultivation of Alchemy Chapter 3008: Due Diligence

Alex couldn’t help but sowhat shrink when the vow was ntioned again.

The Binding of the Heavenly Beasts was apparently done for this one vow. But he didn’t know what it was. He had no way of knowing as he was right now.

The Sun’s Talon Realm. He would have to visit it as soon as possible—probably right after they were done with Pearl’s Trial.

The Matriarch still had her eyes on him. "Are you willing to invoke our vow right away?" she asked before her eyes narrowed further. "Can you even do that?"

Alex was forthcoming with his answer. "I have not yet reached the stage with my body that I might need to know what this vow is. If I learn what it is, and I believe it is important, I will do so in the future."

The Matriarch smiled. "Then we shall continue taking care of it as we have since we first made the vow."

"It?" Alex asked with a quizzical look.

The Matriarch smiled but didn’t answer. Her eyes landed on Bai Jingshen next. "Young White Tiger, I will require you to deliver a ssage to your Patriarch when you can. I will have the ssage set up later and delivered to your room."

Bai Jingshen bowed. "I shall deliver it as soon as I can, Matriarch."

"Do it at your earliest convenience," the Matriarch said, eyeing Alex. "It doesn’t look like there is any hurry."

Bai Jingshen nodded.

"Ningzhu, you’ll have to go to the Black Tortoise Matriarch and deliver another letter from ," she said. "She will need to know of this matter too."

"Of my arrival?" Alex asked quickly. "I was hoping to keep this information hidden, Matriarch. I didn’t let the Azure Dragon Patriarch know for this reason when we visited him earlier this week."

"No, I won’t tell them about your appearance. I am just asking them to do their due diligence in case our vow is invoked in the upcoming years."

"I shall deliver the letter as soon as it is ready, Matriarch," Ningzhu said. "I can also take the ssage to the Azure Dragon Patriarch at the sa ti. Unless you want to call soone else for it."

"No need," the Matriarch said. "The Dragons do their due diligence without having to remind them. They are perhaps the only ones that continue to do it frequently."

Alex narrowed his eyes upon hearing that. ’Frequently?’ he thought. The words reminded him of the tradition the young Azure Dragon had talked about. The older Azure Dragons went down to the Dark Void beneath their floating islands and palaces to keep up a tradition from olden days.

Did that tradition have anything to do with their vow? If so, what was it?

"I do not have much else to ask of you," the Vermilion Bird Matriarch said. "You have more or less proven that you have the Sun God’s body, but I do not know yet if that makes you the Sun God. For the Beasts, the only proof you can provide is by knowing our vows. So, until you do, take care of yourself."

"Naunhuo, make sure our guests are being treated the best one can be," the Matriarch said. "Do whatever you may need to make them feel comfortable."

"I will do as you ask, Matriarch," Scarlet said quickly, bowing.

The Matriarch nodded. "You may leave."

Alex and the rest finally left the Matriarch’s quarters, taken back to their place by Ningzhu. Alex couldn’t quite rember how long they had walked when they were led to a room made not quite with Sunstone.

"Please use this place as your quarters," Ningzhu said. "It’s not the best room we have, certainly one of the better ones for guests—but I believed you would like it due to how close it is to my granddaughter’s room."

"Thank you, Senior," Alex said.

Ningzhu walked away, leaving the five by themselves. Whisker quickly excused himself, returning back to the Soul Space where he had things to take care of, leaving only four.

Bai Jingshen entered, walking to a separate room, leaving only the three behind.

Alex placed a palm on his navel region, feeling the bubbling Qi trying to overflow. "I need to deal with the Qi I received from the poison," he said, speaking with so discomfort.

"Will you be okay?" Scarlet asked with a worried look.

"I will," Alex said, frowning a little.

"Brother? What’s wrong?" Pearl asked, noticing the concern on his face.

Alex laughed a little to bring so levity to the conversation, but he couldn’t do it quite well enough to lift their worries.

"What is it? The poison?" Pearl asked quickly. "Quick, drink so antidote."

"No, it’s not poison. Nothing is wrong with ," Alex said. "It’s just that... I think this much Qi might just be enough for ."

"Enough?" Scarlet asked. "For..."

"For breaking through to the next realm," Alex said. "If I do it right, this Qi might help reach the Immortal Transcendent Realm, or bring right to the edge of it, but not far off."

Scarlet frowned. "But... isn’t that good news? Why do you seem worried?" she asked. "Do you worry you’ll have a strong Inner Demon? Are you not prepared perhaps?"

"No, that’s not it," Alex said. "I am confident I can handle the Inner Demon at this point. My issue is instead with what will happen as a result of breaking through."

"I don’t understand," Scarlet said.

"I had to learn a lot of different things when I left Hell, and none of them were Dao. When I break through, the Heavens will descend, most likely bringing the Worldly Laws down along with ," Alex said.

"So... you’re afraid you’ll learn new Daos?" Scarlet asked.

"I’m afraid I will learn quite a few Ti Daos, in the middle of the Vermilion Bird Palace," he said. "I was hoping others wouldn’t know what Dao I learned. But... it appears I have no choice now."

Alex sighed and made the decision.

There was no more waiting. He would break through now.
