Steelheart was correct.

As soon as the news of the Fiend’s death broke out, turmoil filled the Dark God’s cult. Several factions vied for power now that the god was gone, and the fallout from the civil war that ensued left the cult broken in far too many ways to recover again.

The Fiend had died sowhere outside of the Eclipsing Heaven realm, from what Steelheart knew.

The Fiend had t the enemy’s god for the first ti since his return and had imdiately entered a drawn-out battle. The battle lasted for days, with both parties going all out, and in the end, both of them died.

Steelmind was surprised to hear that. The Fiend had died, but he had died while taking away the enemy’s greatest asset along with him.

The Undying God had been the one who had caused the most problems in the fight, so with his death, there was little doubt that the enemy could continue.

Maybe the war would finally co to an end.

Steelmind and Steelheart were both out of the Dark God’s cult, so neither of them had anything to do.

Under Steelheart’s advice, Steelmind opened a shop where he sold the artifacts he made. Steelheart found his own work in information gathering, and the two worked close to each other.

More news ca from the war.

The Blood God hadn’t been seen in ages, and many guessed he had likely died by now. The sa was true of the Sword God, and a new one was apparently being set up very soon. There were also rumors that the gods were going to expand and that soon there would be far more gods than there were now.

Steelmind worked on his shop for many thousands of years, building a powerful local business in the Fiend’s Sanctuary. He began selling so of his best creations in auctions, and through one of those auctions, he received a map to an inheritance.

Whether it was true or not, he could only search and find out.

His days weren’t so simple, however, as enemies began propping up all around him.

So remnants of the Dark God’s cult had established their own artifact shop on the continent, and they began using underhanded ans to take down Steelmind. They didn’t outright kill him, but anything else they could do to stifle his growth was done without the slightest hesitation.

After many more years of suffering through that, Steelmind decided to leave. The Sky God had apparently just recently finished the interrealm teleportation formations, so he could leave this world in an instant.

The cost was a lot, but he had earned more than enough for a ticket. He sold his store to his competition and left the world to head to the Three Jewel realm.

Steelheart followed him to the new realm, where they remained for many years.

Steelmind decided to focus on just learning to make better artifacts now that he was monts away from reaching the Divine realm.

Steelheart reached the Divine realm while in the Three Jewel realm as well, and after so ti, he decided to join the war again. The war still went on, so the decision felt right.

Steelmind decided to join the war effort as well and go directly to the Golden Dao realm, where the war was much more concentrated. He did so soon after reaching the Divine realm.

Steelheart left directly for the war, but Steelmind had sothing else to do. With the map of inheritance he had received, he searched through the Golden Dao realm for so ti before finding the site of inheritance.

He went through it alone and ca out the other side, gaining the inheritance of a Divine realm cultivator who used to be a great artifact maker. With the newfound inheritance, Steelmind joined the war effort, quickly becoming well known as one of the best artifact makers.

Many great cultivators found him and requested that he help them with their artifacts. Steelmind was capable enough that he did.

For the Sword God, he made a sword that could cut through the sky like his predecessor’s had.

For the Ocean God, he made a teardrop-shaped artifact that had profound healing powers.

However, the greatest artifact he had ever made until then had to be the crown he created for the Fire God. Made from the heart of the Primordial Nineheaded Phoenix, the crown was a magnificent treasure, bound with the powerful inherent healing capacity of the Nineheaded Phoenix.

That was the artifact that gave him fa beyond what anyone could have imagined. The only other known artifact made from a dead Primordial belonged to the Sky God, and the man who had made that was the one whose inheritance Steelmind had received.

Steelmind gained many more requests almost imdiately, and without a doubt, he was swamped to the point where he could not fulfill everyone’s request. Thankfully, with his reputation now, he had the power to pick and choose.

He worked for just the gods first before slowly moving on to the other important ones. As he went through the list, he noticed a na and accepted it.

Spearheaven arrived before him a few years later, carrying precious tals with which he wanted his new spear to be made.

Steelmind had heard about the man that Spearheaven had beco—strong, wild, dependable. He should have known back from his slave days that this man would beco soone.

Spearheaven handed over the tals and requested for his new spear to be made. He wanted one that would never break.

Steelmind watched him for a long ti. "You do not rember , do you?" he asked.

Spearheaven paused, looking up. "Have we t before?" he asked. "I’m sorry if we have. I’ve been through so many battalions, had so many people under that it’s hard to rember. I work alone now, well... as long as soone with a new disciple can be."

Steelmind let out a soft chuckle. "It’s , brother Spearheaven," he said. "Or maybe you’ll rember better if I called you brother Naless."
